JOHN HEADEN "JACK" FOUST

John Headen "Jack" Foust, 78, of 940 Foust Road, Siler City died Friday, March 11, 2005 at VA Hospital in Durham.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 14, 2005 at Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church with Dr. Cecil Callis, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Foust was a native of Chatham County, a member of Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church where he was a member of Zollie Martin Adult Sunday school class, a deacon, elder and trustee. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Lodge #143, Bonlee, served in the South Pacific with the US Navy during WWII and retired from Chatham Motors as parts manager with 28 years of service. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles R. Foust.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Foust of Siler City; son, John Headen Foust, Jr. of Siler City; sister, Sarah F. Smith of Siler City; brothers, Ben S. Foust and Eugene H. Foust, Jr., both of Siler City; sisters-in-law, Sue T Lampley of Charlotte and Helen J. Thompson of Lilesville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Springs Scholarship Fund, PO Box 752, Siler City, NC 27344; Mt. Vernon Lodge #143, Bonlee, NC 27213; or a Charity of Choice.

THOMAS EDISON MORRIS

Thomas Edison Morris, age 74, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA.

He was born in Chatham County, North Carolina on September 21, 1930. At three years old, he and his sister Lucille (Farrell) were placed in an orphanage.

With a football scholarship and excellent grades, Morris put himself through High Point College in North Carolina. From there he entered the United States Air Force, where he distinguished himself by rising through the ranks to Colonel. Among his awards and decorations, at Vanndenburg AFB, he received meritorious Service Medal. Colonel Morris was deputy commander, 4315th CCTS, received recognition as a result of his last assignment as chief of the Ballistic Missile Staff Course, his leadership resulted in major contribution to the effectiveness and the success of the Ballistic Missile staff course. He retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service and lived in Hemet the last 15 years.

He is survived by a sister, Lucille Farrell of N.C.; half brother, John Waylon Farrell of N.C.; sons, Thomas Dana Morris of CA.; best friend and POA, Joe Pentolino of Hemet, CA.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Miller-Jones Hemet Chapel. Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11 am in the Staging Area #5, Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 21, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. at Miller-Jones Hemet Chapel.

DONALD KELSEY WILLETT

Donald Kelsey Willett, 83, of Bear Creek died Thursday, (07-14-2005) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, (07-21-2005) with Rev. Robert Capps, Rev. Val Chadwick and Rev. David Martin, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Willett was a native of Schoolfield, Va., and a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church. He was a poultry farmer and a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Sally S. Willett of Bear Creek; daughter, Linda W. Martin of Pittsboro; and a brother, David Willett of Asheboro.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, (07-20-2005) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City.

Memorials may be made to Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek, N.C. 27207.

ARCHIE WILLIAMSON

Mr. Archie Williamson, 61, of Robbins died Monday, (07-18-2005) at his home.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday (07-20-2005) at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Stalnaker and Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Williamson was a Moore County native and formerly worked for Deep River Mills in High Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marjorie Williams Williamson of the home; sons, Bryon Williamson of the home, Eddie Williamson of Robbins; sisters, Nonnie Moore of Robbins, Ruby Needham of Asheboro, Bertha Chriscoe of Seagrove; brothers, Roy Williamson of Seagrove, Coy Lee Williamson of Washington, D.C.; and one grandchild.

MR. RONALD (JOHN) SMITH

Mr. Ronald (John) Smith, 50, of Siler City died Friday, (07-15-2005) at his residence.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, at 7 pm (07-19-2005) at Knotts Funeral Home in Siler City with Rev. Christine Dark officiating. A second service is being held Thursday (07-21-2005) at 3 pm, at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Skipwith, Va. with Rev. Willie L. Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, LaShonda L. Smith of the home; son, Corey Bass of Skipwith, Va.; daughters, Nicole Butler of Washington, D.C., Olympia Smith of Richmond, Va.; grandmother, Ineas Smith of Skipwith, Va.; brothers, Charles Smith of Boydton, Va., Samuel Smith of Chase City, Va., Russell Smith of Skipwith, Va.; sisters, Pamela Jones of Chase City, Va., Byrd Smith of Clayton, Yolando Staten of Skipwith, Va.; and two grandchildren.

TERRY BRAFFORD WILKIE

Terry Brafford Wilkie, 53, of Siler City died Saturday, (07-16-2005).

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, (07-18-2005) at Providence Church, Siler City with Rev. Herman Brannen officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wilkie was a native of Chatham County and worked as a truck driver for Townsend Poultry Company.

Survivors include a son, Stormy Wilkie of Siler City; brother, Gary Paul Wilkie of Siler City; and a sister, Darlene W. Paige of Bear Creek.

WADE THOMAS BECK

Wade Thomas Beck, 79, of Bear Creek died Sunday, (07-17-2005) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Graveside services and burial were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, (07-19-2005) at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.

Mr. Beck was a native of Randolph County, of the Baptist faith and a retired carpenter.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Gatewood of Walkertown; son, Ricky Beck of Bear Creek; sister, Eva Beck of Bear Creek; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MILTON DOUGLAS "CHEROKEE" PERRY

Milton Douglas "Cherokee" Perry, 60, of Greensboro, passed away on Wednesday, (07-13-2005), at the Beacon Place.

Mr. Perry served in the US Marine Corp and was a Vietnam Veteran.

Survivors include a son, Richard P. Perry of Wilmington; one grandson; mother, Dolly Perry of Greensboro; sister, Bonnie Isaacs of Eden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beacon Place, 2502 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.

JULIA GRACE SEAGROVES GOODWIN

Julia Grace Seagroves Goodwin, 62, of Apex, died Monday (07-18-2005) at Western Wake Medical Center in Cary.

Graveside services are being conducted at 11 am Thursday, (07-21-2005) at the Olive Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Apex, with the Rev. Garland Smith officiating.

Surviving are her daughters, Wanda G. Mann of Sanford, Brenda G. George of Moncure; son, Michael Goodwin of New Hill; sister, Linda Seagroves of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Jimmy Seagroves, Fred Seagroves, Jr. both of Apex; and one granddaughter.

The family received friends from 7-9 pm, Wednesday (07-20-2005) at Smith Funeral Home in Moncure and other times, at the home of Brenda and Robert George, 46 North Drive, Moncure.

JESSE PERRY "JACK" PARKER

Mr. Jesse Perry "Jack" Parker, 88, of Pittsboro died Monday (07-18-2005) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Services are being held at 11 o’clock Thursday, (07-21-2005) at Bynum United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Winner, presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Friends visited with the family on Wednesday evening, (07-20-2005) from 6 to 8 pm at Griffin funeral service and Cremation in Pittsboro.

Mr. Parker is a native of Chatham County who worked for 33 years with American Tobacco Company and was also a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. (CCC) and was instrumental in helping building military bases, and was a member of Bynum United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Naiomi Hewitt Parker; sons, Donald Parker of Pittsboro, Bobby Parker of Durham; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Bynum United Methodist Church, PO Box 6, Bynum, NC 27228.

JAMES (JIMMY) GARDNER POLLOK

Mr. James (Jimmy) Gardner Pollok, 79, of Greensboro, died July 5, 2005, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at George Brothers funeral service.

Jimmy was born April 8, 1926 in Durham. He was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II, was employed with Brame Specialty Company in Durham and for more than 15 years with J.C. Penny in Greensboro.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lee Pollok of the home; his son, Dave Pollok and wife, Becky of Siler City; his daughters, Jeannie Malcolm of Greensboro and Phyllis Matheson of Oak Island, NC and his brother, Norwood Pollok and wife, Kay of Durham. Jimmy is also survived by his three loving grandchildren, Mary Pollok, Ian Malcolm and Stephenie Matheson.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.

KATHERINE PRISCILLA ELLIS DUDEK

Katherine Ellis Dudek, 84, of 601 North Glenn Avenue, Siler City died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at St. Julia Catholic Parrish, Siler City with Father Michael Lorentsen, OFM-CONV. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Dudek was a native of Chatham County, a member of St. Julia Catholic Parrish and was retired as vice president of finance with Robbins and Ghant, Siler City.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy S. Dudek of Siler City; son, Stan Dudek and wife Susan of North Wilkesboro; daugther, Mary Dudek and fiance', Ken McPherson, both of Siler City; and one grandson, Stephen Dudek of North Wilkesboro.

Memorials, in her name, may be addressed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or Piney Grove United Methodist Church Fellowship Fund, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City, NC 27344.
