DOROTHY L. “Dot” DUNN
Dorothy L. "Dot" Dunn, 84, of East Tennessee died Saturday, (09-18-2011).
Graveside services will be held Friday, (09-23-2011) at 11 a.m. at Highland West Cemetery in Knoxville, TN with Rev. Kim Isley officiating.
Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Dunn; her parents, Mildred and Henry Lowe; sisters, Muriel Moody and Helen Barrett.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn L. Adams and one grandson.
The family will receive friends at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City, Thursday evening, (09-22-2011) from 6 to 8 pm.

MARK BRIAN WILLLIAMS
Mark Brian Williams, age 52, of Whitakers, NC, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. He was a merchandising product manager with Kraft Foods at the time of his death. He attended Jordan - Matthews High School in Siler City, and graduated from Campbell University with a degree in Business Administration. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, especially with this son Mark, Jr., who was the pride and joy of his life. He is predeceased by his parents, Vergle Ernest Williams, Jr. and Frances Campbell Harrington Williams, of Siler City.
Survivors include his wife, Meg, and son Mark Brian Williams, Jr. of the home; two sisters, Janet Susan Williams and husband Ron of Surfside Beach, SC, Nancy Williams Snyder and husband Greg also of Surfside Beach. He leaves behind one nephew, Christopher Walker of Pittsboro; two nieces, Karen Halleran of Charlotte, and Dana Snyder of Surfside Beach. Mark also had two grandnieces, Shea of Charlotte, Zella of Pittsboro and one grandnephew, TJ of Charlotte. Also surviving is his beloved dog Max who recently nearly died but survived while missing one leg.
Words cannot express the extreme sadness Mark’s death has brought to our lives and we will all miss him greatly. Mark was truly a wonderful man who had a big heart and a great sense of humor.
There was a funeral service at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro on Saturday, September 17 at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make any memorials to the charity of your choice or donate to the Benvenue Animal Hospital, 3151 Benvenue Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with a notation that it goes into Max’s Fund, an account set up to assist with expenses that some pet owners cannot cover.

ODEAL BATHEY “Milo” HOLT
Odeal Bathey "Milo" Holt, 84, of Siler City died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation. He was born May 30, 1927, the son of Robert Eugene and Elizabeth Amick Holt.
Mr. Holt was a native of Chatham County and served in the Navy during WW II. "Milo", as he was known, worked at NC State University, The Chatham News and Siler City Mills. He loved old western movies and was the founder of Milo Holt's Ole Time Western Film Club and enjoyed playing music at Charlie's Barn.
Survivors include a daughter, Jenny Holt Guthrie of Siler City; grandson, Michael Sean Guthrie; granddaughter, Kelly Nicole Guthrie; great grandsons, Devyn and Carter Guthrie; step-grandchildren, Penny and Tommy Guthrie; and four step-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral was held Wednesday September 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, Siler City with Rev. Billy Joe Brady, Rev. Bill Loving and friend, Ray Smith officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City, with military rites.
The family was at the home of a niece, Linda Lehman, 823 East Cardinal Street, Siler City.
CLETUS HUDSON
Cletus Hudson, 84, of 121 Hudson Road, Siler City died Monday, September 19, 2011.
Mr. Hudson was born November 28, 1926, the son of George Adam and Beulah (Fox) Hudson. He was a native of Chatham County, a member and Deacon of Loves Creek Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher and held numerous other offices. Cletus was a Navy veteran of WW II, past president of the Board of Realtors, President of the Optimist Club, and a member of the American Legion Post #93. He was an agent for Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance for 28 years, owner of Preferred Realty for 20 years. Mr. Hudson was an avid Duke fan and enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gibson Hudson.
He is survived by one daughter, Ginger H. Clark and husband, Tony of Siler City; two sons, Jeff Hudson of Austin, TX, Butch Hudson and wife, Debra of Siler City; grandchildren, Chase and Cole Hudson, Jessica and Trey Clark; sisters, Georgia H. Barth, Shirley H. Lindley, Joyce H. Bowers, Jean H. Dark, Faye H. McMath, Betty H. Albright, all of Siler City; brothers, Jack Hudson, Howard Hudson, and Bobby Hudson, all of Siler City.
The family received friends Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 1:30-3 p.m., prior to funeral service at the church. The funeral was held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with Rev. Bob Boyd and Rev. Ed Elliott officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

MOZELLE WILLIAMS LAMBERT
Mozelle Williams Lambert, 84, of Robbins, passed away Saturday (09-10-2011) at her home.
Funeral services were held Monday (09-12-2011) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Edwin Moore officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lambert was a Moore County native, a homemaker, and a member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dexter Lambert of the home; daughter, Linda Williamson of Robbins; son, Gary Lambert of Robbins; and five grandchildren.

DONALD RAY “DON” JEFFRIES
Donald Ray “Don” Jeffries 71, of Robbins, passed away Friday (09-09-2011) at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday (09-12-2011) at 2 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Michael Parenti, Rev. Burton King, and J.J. Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Jeffries was a Chatham County native. He had served on the Goldston Volunteer Fire Department and the Goldston Volunteer Rescue Squad. He had worked at Chatham Brick, Pamona Pipe, the Country Cubbard and retired from Riley Paving.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Brock Jeffries of the home; daughter, Mary J. Sheffield of Robbins; son, Thomas Ray Jeffries of Broadway; step-sons, John Brock of Thomasville, Kenneth Brock of Ramseur; brother, Wayne Jeffries of Gulf; sisters, Shirley Barber of Fayetteville, Ruth Gunter of Sanford; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
FRANK EDWARD TAYLOR
Mr. Frank Edward Taylor, 68, of Pittsboro died Thursday, (09-08-2011) at his home.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, (09-12-2011) at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Kenneth Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Mitchell Chapel Church and retired from Coca Cola after 36 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Terrence Harris of Lithonica, GA; daughter, Karen Douglas of Pittsboro; sister, Mary Thomas of Pittsboro; and two grandsons.
TAMMY JOANNE DENNY
Ms. Tammy Joanne Denny, 47, of Pittsboro died Friday (09-02-2011) at her home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (09-07-2011) at Hamlet Chapel CME Church with Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Ms. Denny worked as a certified nurses assistant.
Survivors include children Ricardo, Alecia, Melvin Denny, all of the home, Arlene Nikky of Pittsboro; step-daughter, Saniah Graves; sisters, Lori Stroud, Tina Perry; brothers, Trent, Robert, Michael, Lanzo, Kevin, all of Siler City, Cothy Alston, of Siler City; and four grandchildren.
JOHN DAVID BROWN
Mr. John David Brown of Chapel Hill died Monday (09-05-2011) at his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Staunton Memorial CME Church with Rev. Albert Williams. Burial followed in Pittsboro Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was a member of Staunton Memorial Church. He worked for Belk Leggett and Cobb Insurance Company.
Survivors include his mother, Nannie Brown Boldin of Chapel Hill; son, Christopher D. Brown of Cedar Grove; and three grandchildren.
ANTHONY DORSETT OLDHAM
Anthony Dorsett Oldham, 59, of Siler City went to his heavenly home Saturday, September 10, 2011.
Anthony was born September 18, 1951 to parents, Exon and Jean Williams Oldham. Anthony attended Jordan- Matthews High School. He owned and operated Fields Body Shop of Siler City for 27 years. Anthony enjoyed Nascar racing and was a diehard Tarheel fan. He enjoyed fishing and being on the lake. He loved long walks on the beach and spending time there with his family. Anthony collected classic cars, he enjoyed car shows, buying, restoring and selling old cars. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved spending time with them. Anthony also enjoyed spoiling his canine friends, Tobey, Rusty, Bunky and Luckydog.
Anthony was of Baptist faith and attended Community Baptist Church. He was an active participant of the West Chatham Relay for Life. Anthony battled cancer for 17 years but his love for his family gave him the will to live and continue to fight. He was preceded in death by his father, Exon Oldham; mother, Jean O. Stutts; grandmother, Mattie Eva Williams and granddaughter, Samantha Taylor Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Oldham of the home, daughter, Kelly Renee Oldham of the home; Anthoniette Williams and husband, Stephen of Liberty, Toni O. Hayes and husband, Chris of Siler City; step-daughter, Crystal Wilson and husband, Shane of Bear Creek, Tylena Johnson of Siler City; step-son, Lee Johnson, Jr. and fiancee, Katina Ferguson of Siler City; grandchildren, Eric Everwine, Stephenie Everwine, Tariq Siler and Sierra Williams; step-grandchildren, Hannah Williams, Nikolas Wilson, Taylor Jones, Briana Johnson and Ashton Johnson; great-grandson, Stephen Anthony Everwine; sisters, Sheila Blackmon and husband, Bobby, Rita Johnson and husband, Cary Lee of Siler City; brothers, David Oldham and wife, Keitha of Waynesville, Keith Oldham and Jane Smith of Siler City.
The service was held at Community Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park. The family received friends at Smith & Buckner Funeral home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 6 - 8 p.m. and other times at Anthony and Ann's home.

HENRY AUSTIN SAUNDERS
Henry Austin Saunders, 79, of 332 N. Main Street, Staley died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Mr. Saunders was born September 17, 1931, the son of Henry Clay and Mary Elizabeth (Selby) Saunders. He was a graduate of Shinnston High School in Selby, West Virginia, and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Henry was owner/operator of Saunders Nursery & Landscaping and a member of the Siler City Masonic Lodge #43 A. F. & A. M. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sisters, James Leonard Saunders, Maxine, Naomi and Ethel; a half-brother, Clarence Selby and two half-sisters, Mildred and Hazel.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Ray Norris Saunders of the home; one daughter: Jane Saunders Scott of Siler City; one sister, Kathleen Bissett of Shinnston, W. VA; grandsons, Dylan Gaines and Cale Scott; step-sons, Jay Norris and wife, Ann of Pittsboro, Richard Norris and Lori of Pittsboro; step-grand-children, Justin, Kayla, James and Daniel Norris.
The family received friends Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 10 - 11 a.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral was held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Wellborn officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park with military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
HELEN MATHEWS HANCOCK
Helen Mathews Hancock, 88, of Siler City died Wednesday, (08-31-2011) at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
The funeral was held Friday, (09-02-2011) at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hancock was born January 9, 1923, the daughter of Charles Leslie and Irene (Fore) Mathews in Kinston in Lenoir County. She attended Louisburg College and worked for the Bank of Coleridge, Chatham Bank and First Union National Bank, which is now Wachovia. Past president and secretary-treasurer of the Siler City BPW, she was a member of First United Methodist Church of Siler City where she was a member of the Friendship Class. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Gloria S. Hancock.
Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Hancock of Siler City; one son, Bob Hancock of Bear Creek; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
INEZ DONITHAN COE
Mrs. Inez Donithan Coe, 80, of Sanford, died Sunday, (09-04-2011), at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Burial will be private.
Mrs. Coe was born May 31, 1931, in Rockingham County, to the late Odell and Rosa Bailey Donithan. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Coe, Sr. and son, Tony Mason, Sr.
Survivors include a son, William Earl Coe, Jr. of Holly Ridge; five daughters, Brenda Stevenson of Greensburg, PA, Sharon Glosson of Moncure, Vickie Peach of Fuquay-Varina, Mickie Upchurch, Terry Coe, both of Sanford; sisters, Billie Faye Shrum of Mt. Pleasant, PA, Frances Malone of DeRidder, LA; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
