BOBBY GAYLE HUDSON
Mr. Bobby Gayle Hudson, 58, of Bear Creek, passed away Tuesday, (03-18-2014) in Hamlet.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, (03-21-2014) at 2 p.m. at Meroney United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Gooch officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hudson was a Chatham County native and a mechanic most of his life. He worked the last few years at We Pump It Portables as a mechanic and truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gayle Hudson; brothers, Buddy Michael Hudson and Benny Thomas Hudson.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his son, Jonathan Hudson of Bear Creek; mother, Cleo Wicker Hudson of Bear Creek; brothers, Billy Hudson of Ramseur and Barry Hudson of Bear Creek.

The family asks that memorials be made to Meroney United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.

EVERETT LEWIS “Rabbit” HAYES
Everett Lewis “Rabbit” Hayes, 80, of Goldston died Thursday (03-20-2014) at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.

Funeral services were held Wednesday (03-26-2014) at 1 p.m. at St. Luke United Church of God, with Rev. Drury Underwood officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Minister Sabrina McKendall of Sanford, Sherlene Brooks of Goldston, Evangelist Evette Fairley of Charlotte; son, Everett Hayes of Mebane, Maurice Hayes of Sanford; twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

MARY PARKS LaRUE
Mary Parks LaRue, 99, of Siler Citydied Sunday, (03-23-2014) at Siler City Center.

The funeral was held Wednesday, (03-26-2014) at 2 p.m. at Brookdale Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Jones officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park.
Mrs. LaRue was born in Grayson County, Virginia on August 4, 1914, the daughter of Dave and Elizabeth (Cummings) Parks. She was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church and retired from Robbins and Ghant. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lester LaRue, a daughter, Jessie McGlocklin, her parents and a brother, George Parks.
Survivors include daughters, Wilma Bowman and Janette Fagg, both of Siler City; sons, Sterling DeBoard of Virginia, Joe DeBoard of Siler City; sister, Virginia P. Buckholder of Fairfax, VA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great grandchildren.

FRANK ERVIN MURDOCK
Mr. Frank Ervin Murdock of Bear Creek died Wednesday (03-19-2014) at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral services were held Sunday (03-22-2014) at 3 p.m. at Centennial AME Zion Church with burial in the church cemetery.

There were no immediate survivors.

ISAIAH FRANKLIN PRICE
Mr. Isaiah Franklin Price of Siler City died Sunday (03-16-2014) at the Chatham Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday (03-21-2014) at 3 p.m. at Gee’s Grove AME Zion Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Lois P. Butler, Lynette Price, Harold Price, Jimmy Price; brothers, Parker Price, Obie Price; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

DORCELIE JOHN CEASAR
Mr. Dorcelie John Ceasar of Siler City died Sunday (03-16-2014) at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

A Mass was held on Wednesday (03-19-2014) at Knotts & Son Funeral Home. A formal Mass was held on Wednesday (03-26-2014) in Oakdale, LA with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Renay Ceasar and son, D. J. Ceasar.

MERILYN CARD SCOTT
Merilyn Card Scott 62, of Garner, formerly of Siler City, passed away Thursday, (03-20-2014).

A memorial service was held Sunday (03-23-2014) at The First Baptist Church, Garner.

She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Garner, where she was a member of the choir and participated in many mission trips. She was owner and operator of Signature Design Florist, and was more recently employed with Wake County Sheriff‘s Department.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Raymond Anthony (Tony) Scott, formerly of Siler City; sons, Pat, Jonathan and Michael Scott; four grandchildren; and a sister, Kim Card.

In addition to her parents, Percy and Brownie Card, she was preceded in death by two infant children, Bobby and Melissa Scott.

MAXINE O. KIDD
Maxine Overman Kidd, 94, (03-25-2014) at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, (03-27-2014), at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Bennett. with Rev. Wayne Dunn and Dr. Charles Fleshman officiating.

Mrs. Kidd was a native of Randolph County, retired from Klopman Mills, and a member of First Baptist Church of Ramseur. She was preceded in death by husband, Kinie Kidd, son, Dr. Junior Kidd, parents, Shellie and Cora Wright Overman, four sisters, and three brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy K. Evans of Siler City; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Ramseur, PO Box 544, Ramseur, NC 27316.

CLARA “BECKY” BURGESS
Clara “Becky” Burgess Rightsell, 77, of Ramseur, died Friday, (03-21-2014) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, (03-24-2014) at Rehobeth United Methodist Church, with Rev. Danielle Hammett officiating.

Becky was a native of Randolph County, retired from Chatham Hospital and a member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Samuel and Tena Mae Brown Burgess, a sister, Nina Burgess and brother, James Burgess.

Survivors include a son, Rick Burgess of Ramseur and one grandson

Memorials may be made to Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 212, Franklinville, NC 27248.

ELIZABETH “Lib” BRADY TERRY
Elizabeth”Lib” Brady Terry, 84, of Hillcrest Drive, Siler City died Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

Mrs. Terry was born in Moore County on September 18, 1929, the daughter of Carl and Loshia (Phillips) Brady. Lib was a member of Fair Promise United Methodist Church. She retired from the North Carolina Department of Public Health after 30 years of service as a cosmetology inspector. Lib had a special way of making children smile and was always showering friends with special treats of pimento cheese, apples, peaches and ham. She was an excellent story teller, enjoyed gardening, traveling and going to the beach. She enjoyed reading daily newspapers, working cross word puzzles or word search. Lib was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lewis, Howard and Marcus Brady; sisters, Marguerite Brady and Ila Mae Brady Dorsett.

She is survived by her goddaughter, Dorlisa King Flur; numerous nieces, nephews and an extended family of friends.

A family memorial service with Rev. Allen Overton was held at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

MARY KATHLEEN LANGLEY
STALEY – After a brief illness, Mary Kathleen Langley, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2014 while at Universal Health Care in Ramseur. She was born May 11, 1921 in Greensboro, NC and was the daughter of the late Myrtle A. Murray Fields and Henry L. Fields, both of Chatham County.

Survivors include her children, Louise Dunlap of Staley and Linda and husband Carson Daves of Asheboro; grandson, John Dunlap of Staley; great-grandchildren, Morgan Dunlap and Brock Dunlap, both of Randolph County. Kathleen was preceded in her home-going by her beloved first husband John Odell Allred, her beloved second husband William Floyd Langley, and by her beloved granddaughter Laura Michelle Dunlap.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the administrative, medical and floor staff of both Randolph Hospital and Universal Health Care for the kind, compassionate and excellent care that Kathleen received. Words of thanks fail to convey their sincere gratitude.

A service to celebrate Kathleen’s life was held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro, with Pastor Evon Pulliam officiating. The family received friends in the Chapel immediately following the service. Interment followed in the Staley Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Christians United Outreach Center, PO Box 784, Asheboro, NC 27204.

MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER HEALY
Mr. Michael Christopher Healy, 75, of Pittsboro, died late Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Duke Hospice, The Hock Family Pavilion surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 9, 1938 in Bronx, NY, Michael was a son of the late Thomas and Ellen Healy. He graduated St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY with a bachelor’s degree in business finance. He served our nation with honor as a National Guardsman during the tumultuous 1960’s. Michael worked 35 years for IBM in a variety of finance management positions. On May 20, 1995, he and Katherine Scott Griffith were married at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brooklyn. Michael often volunteered his time preparing tax returns for the elderly and the poor. He was a wonderful dad, a caring brother, a devoted husband, and a great friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Healy is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Murphy of Eaton’s Neck, NY.

Survivors include his wife, Kitty, of the home; his daughters, Janet (Al) Celini of Newtown, PA, Jeanne (Vincent) Yannacci, of Marlboro, NJ, Jackie (Paul) Mastropietro of Mahopac, NY, and Jennifer (Bob) Zmarzlak of Stamford, CT; his nine grandchildren; and his brother, Monsignor Thomas Healy of Corona, NY.

Services will be held in NY with the Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, 43-07 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, NY 11104 assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you would honor Michael with contributions to: Ride For Life, Inc. (For ALS) Stony Brook University, HSC LV2, Room 106, Stony Brook, NY 11794-8231.

The arrangements for Mr. Healy are under the care of Hall – Wynne funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.

TERRY CROWE-WHITE
July 15, 1948 – March 19, 2014

Terry Crowe-White passed away at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, March 19, 2014 after a sudden and brief illness. Her daughters, sister and eldest grandson were at her bedside at her passing.

She was born in Charleroi, PA and attended Lordstown High School in Lordstown, OH. She was an avid lover of animals, particularly horses and dogs.

A longtime breeder of Quarter Horses, she was a founding member of the Piedmont Horseman’s Association, an officer of the organization for several years, as well as the recipient of numerous year-end awards. She was a well-known competitor and winner in the equine show ring.

Terry was a dog show superintendent with MB-F Dog Shows for several years. Her father was an early supporter and founder of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine’s Foundation and Terry continued that interest by also serving on the Foundation Board.
Most recently Terry bred AKC Champion Russell Terriers and produced a number of home-bred champions.

She enjoyed showing and mentoring new exhibitors of both dogs and horses. She was a supporter of the AKC Canine Health Foundation and was also active with the Pittsboro Historical Society.
She was an avid reader, loved history and music and was well-known for her quick-witted sense of humor.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lois Crowe of Greensboro, NC. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine McAdoo of Greensboro, and Shannon Westmoreland of Pleasant Garden; her grandchildren, Dakotah Moore, Jeffrey Moore, Michaela Moore and Micah Moore of Greensboro, and Piper Westmoreland and Wyatt Westmoreland of Pleasant Garden; her sister, Dorie Crowe of Greensboro, and her niece, Brie Reeder of Greensboro.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at a time and place to be determined at a later date.

Donations in her memory may be made to the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine Foundation’s General Fund (Raleigh, NC), to the AKC Canine Health Foundation (Raleigh, NC), or to Hanks Chapel Church in Pittsboro.

The arrangements for Mrs. White are under the care of Hall – Wynne funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
