Virgil L. Cole of Sanford died Thursday, (03-13-2014).

HILDRA MAE FLUELLEN
Mrs. Hildra Mae Fluellen, 54, of Siler City, died Monday, (03-10-2014) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, (03-15-2014) at Unity Powerhouse Holiness Church, Staley.

YARELIN NAYELI GRANADOS OCAMPO
Yarelin Nayeli Granados Ocampo, 4 months, of Siler City died Wednesday, (03-12-2014).

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, (03-15-2014) at Iglesia Pentecostal Rey de Gloria, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Maynor Maldonado officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.

Miss Ocampo was born in Chapel Hil lon October 26, 2013, the daughter of Enereno Ocampo Survivors also include a brother, Jacob; and sisters, Jennifer and Maritza.

JOYCE ARNETTE HAGLER
Mrs. Joyce Arnette Hagler, 85, of Sanford, died Saturday, (03-15-2014), at her home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, (03-22-2014), at 11 a.m. at Jonesboro Presbyterian with Rev. John Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service and at other times at the family home on Carson Drive in Sanford.

Mrs. Hagler was born December 9, 1928 in Lee County to the late Dave and Alma Webster Morris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Pete Arnette and George Hagler, and sisters Dorothy Sutton and Ruby Scott. Joyce was a retired nurse and member of Jonesboro Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a sister, Lois Freeman of Sanford; sons, Ray Arnette, Johnny Arnette, both of Carolina Beach, Gerald Arnette of Sanford; five grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Home Care and Hospice, 1005 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC, 27330 or Jonesboro Presbyterian Church, 2200 Woodland Avenue, Sanford, NC, 27330.

MARIE PEOPLES
Marie Peoples, 96, of Siler City died Saturday (03-15-2014) at her home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (03-22-2014) at 12 noon at Holy Trinity United Holy Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 to 12 noon, prior to the service.

Mrs. Peoples was a native of Chatham County, a retired homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity United Holy Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Brooks.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Peoples of Siler City; sisters, Swannie Durant, Clara Brooks, both of Siler City; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

RUFUS A. BREWER, JR.
Rufus A. Brewer, Jr., 95, of Siler City died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at UNC Hospitals.

Mr. Brewer was born in Chatham County, December 24, 1918, the son of the late Rufus and Carrie (Craft) Brewer, Sr. He was an Army Veteran of WW II, a graduate of Mars Hill College, a member of Rocky River Baptist Church, a charter member of the Silk Hope Ruritan Club, leader of boy scouts and retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Harrington Brewer, sister, Mozelle B. Vinsant; brothers, James Warren Brewer, Harry T. Brewer and nephew, Don C. Brewer.

Survivors include a sister, Carrie B. Campen; nephews, James B. Brewer, Edgar D. Brewer, Harry D. Brewer; nieces, Elaine B. Horne, Candace B. Johnson, Sue A. Vinsant, Peggy V. Benson; five great nieces; five great nephews; six great-great nieces and two great-great nephews.

Visitation with the family was held in the sanctuary at Rocky River Baptist Church from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gregg Burriss officiating and military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky River Baptist Church Building Fund or the Bus Fund, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City, NC 27344.

LENORA ALTHEA LITTLE
Pittsboro—Althea Little went to be with the Lord after succumbing to lung cancer at age 57, on Wednesday March 12, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Little; her four brothers, Phillip, Jerome, Conrad and Michael Little; as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Her life was filled with love and her legacy shall continue.

A celebration of her life was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Kairos Community Church in Greensboro, NC. Burial followed at Bynum UMC Cemetery, Pittsboro.

The arrangements for Ms. Little were under the care of Hall – Wynne funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.

JIMMY LEWIS SESSOMS
Jimmy Lewis Sessoms, 75, of Sanford died Sunday, (03-09-2014), at Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, (03-12-2014), at 2 p.m. at Sanford First Pentecostal Church with Pastor Greg Long officiating. Burial followed at Buffalo Cemetery.

Mr. Sessoms was born September 7, 1938, in Lee County, to the late Ernest Sessoms and Allie Mae Causey Sessoms. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Faye Ulrich Sessoms; brother, Ronnie Sessoms and sister, Carla Jo Johnson. He worked at General Electric in the Tool and Dye Department. Mr. Sessoms was a veteran, having served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Sessoms England of Concord, Kathy Barfield of Blythewood, SC, Robyn Sessoms Corpus of Wilmington, Jamie L. Sessoms of Wilmington; a brother, Tommy Sessoms of Sanford; sister, Mickey Spivey of Sanford; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

GLENN AUSTIN VANCE
Glenn Austin Vance, 85, of Siler City died Saturday, (03-08-2014).

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, (03-13-2014) at The Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty; burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Loflin Funeral Home.

Glenn was born November 16, 1928 in Lafayette, IN to the late Melvin and Mamie Vance. He was preceded in death by his wife Clarice H. Vance; his sons, Grant Vance and Otis Richardson; sisters Elsie Thompson, Margaret Mitchell, Carolyn Vance; brothers, Paul Vance, Kenneth Vance, John Vance and Melvin Vance.

Survivors include his daughters Mindy Vance, Marcy Vance-Bredengerd, Missy Vance, Trudy Maynard; sons, Gregg Vance, Danny Richardson, Michael Richardson; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jeannette Martinoni Weber, 96, of Chapel Hill died Tuesday (03-04-2014).

Amanda Hardy, 88, Lee of Middlesex died Friday, (02-28-2014).

Robert M. Gilliland, 95, of Rolesville, died Saturday (03-01-2014).

Jeanne C. Mohrman, 96, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014.

CLYDE DURANT PELL
Clyde Durant Pell, 89, of Sheffield Drive, Siler City died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Mr. Pell was born in Randolph County on December 4, 1924, the son of Durant and Effie (Macon) Pell. He was an Army Veteran of WW II. He served in Patton’s 3rd Army in several battles including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a regional salesman for Poulan Chain Saws. After retirement, he worked part-time for Cross Creek Golf Club. He enjoyed reading, golf, watching baseball or any other sporting events. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, wife, twin sister and two brothers.

He is survived by one daughter, Terry P. Thomas and husband Billy of Siler City; one son, Jeff Pell of Asheboro; granddaughters, Ginger Teague, Julie Thomas, Angie Ritter and six great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, 2115 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA92101.

FLORENCE CARTER ELLIS
Florence Carter Ellis of Pittsboro, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 3, 2014, with her family by her side.

Florence was born in Bynum, NC and graduated from Pittsboro High School. Prior to her retirement, Florence was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her retirement years were spent gardening and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Pam Ellis, Pat Ellis, Amy Holdford and Angie Ellis; her four grandchildren, Brock Holdford, Ethan Holdford, Bryce Holdford and Travis Scott; and her two great-grandchildren, Aubree Holdford and Camden Holdford.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Bill Ellis and her son William Ellis, Jr.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Saturday March 8, 2014 at Bynum United Methodist Cemetery. Pastor Gina Barrow officiated. Friends and family were received at the home following the service.

The family was assisted by Hall-Wynne funeral service.

GLORIA (TAYLOR) DAVIS LEE
Myrtle Beach, SC - Gloria (Taylor) Davis Lee died Saturday, March 8, 2014.

She was born March 14, 1935 in Dillon, SC, the daughter of the late Joe and Metta Taylor. Gloria grew up in Siler City, NC, where she met and married her first husband, Herbert Lee Davis, who preceded her in death. Gloria graduated from East Carolina University and taught school for 35 years. She was a former member and president of Alpha Delta Kappa. She formed the first Jaycette organization in Siler City and was the first woman Social Chairman of the Siler City Country Club. She was also a charter member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and the Rachel Allred Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church in Siler City. Gloria loved to cook and shared many recipes with friends.

Gloria and her husband, Sonny Lee settled in Myrtle Beach, SC in 1993. After moving to Myrtle Beach, they joined the Newcomers Club, Ocean View Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School Class, the Ocean Drive Shag Club and was the first recipient of the Al Cain Award.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Lee, Jr (Sonny) of Myrtle Beach, SC; one son, Branson Davis and wife Pearl of Winston Salem, NC; two grandchildren, Jessica and Tanner Davis, who were the light of her life; three stepsons, Robert Lee (Shannon), John Lee, and Eric Lee (Pam) and several step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother Robert Taylor.

Memorials may be made to the Jay Spence Memorial Scholarship of the First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344 or Ocean View Baptist Church, 7300 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
