WILLIAM LEE ELKINS
William Lee Elkins, 75, of Siler City died Wednesday, (11-27-2013) at his residence.
A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, (11-30-2013) at 2 p.m. at Rocky River Friends Meeting, with David Hobson officiating.
Mr. Elkins was born in Chatham County on October 8, 1938, the son of Jesse William and Ida Lee (Landruth) Elkins. He was an Army veteran, had been employed with Hadley Peoples Manufacturing and retired from the Chatham County Sheriff Office as a Detention Officer. William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Thompson Elkins, his parents and a brother, Charlie Elkins.
There are no immediate survivors.

JOSEPH “JOE” CARL HART
Joseph “Joe” Carl Hart, 72, passed away Sunday, (10-27-2013) at his home in Cleveland, S.C.

A secular family service will be held at Antioch Christian Church, Bear Creek, Saturday (12-21-2013) at 11:30 a.m.

Born in Sanford, he was the son of the late Arthur Joe and Betty Poe Hart and a member of Antioch Christian Church. Mr. Hart served in the U.S. Army where he received several awards including a Bronze Star, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Claudia Ellis Hart; sons, Shane Hart, Jason Hart; sisters, Elizabeth Hamer, Frances Norris and two grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Joe’s name.

MARY LOU PHILLIPS BREEDLOVE
Mary Lou Phillips Breedlove, 67, of New Hill passed away Monday (11-25-2013) at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Saturday (11-30-2013) at New Elam Christian Church, with Rev. Benny Oakes officiating. Entombment followed in Lee Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Breedlove was born in Wake County, January 24, 1946, the daughter of William Thaddeus Herndon and Annabelle Nance Fryar. She retired from Duke Hospital after 28 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, JoAnn Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lindsey, of the home; daughters, Alice Sehulster of Apex; Mary Yates of Moncure; son, William Phillips of Moncure; sister, Claudia Clayton of Apex; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

SANDRA McDANIEL “SAM” TILGHMAN
Sandra McDaniel “Sam” Tilghman, 69, of Eustis, FLpassed away on November 23, 2013.

Sandra grew up in Bennett, NC and attended Bennett High School and High Point University. She began her career with Sanford Savings and Loan of Siler City. An executive for Money Gram International of Dallas, Texas, she just recently retired after 31 years of service. Sandra was a Baptist and former member of both Bennett Baptist Church and Oakley Baptist Church. She was a member of the Pine Meadows Golf and Country Club in Eustis.

She is survived by her husband Mike; they were married for 27 years. Also surviving are her step-daughter, Pamela (Brett) Keyes of Lansford, PA; brother; Jay and Brenda McDaniel of Bennett; sister, Peggy Allen of Leland, NC; sister-in-law, Sylvia McDaniel of Greensboro; grandchildren, Leisha Stinson of Summit Hill, PA, Alaijia Stinson of Ocala, FL and her great grandson, Jonathan Stinson of Summit Hill, PA.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ray McDaniel, (formerly of Greensboro) her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. McDaniel (formerly of Bennett) and brother-in-law, John Allen Jr. (formerly of Leland, NC).

Memorial services will be held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. The final resting place will be Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, FL.

NICOLE MARIE LYNCH FODOR
Nicole Marie Lynch Fodor, of Moncure, died Monday, (11-18-2013), at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Funeral services were held Friday, (11-22-2013) at 11.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Robbie Gibson presiding. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.

Mrs. Fodor was born in Medina, Ohio, on August 24, 1980, to Barbara Kurzenberger Lynch and the late Gregory Lynch. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Lynch. She was a lease administrative assistant with Rivercrest Reality and Investment Company.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Tim Fodor; daughters, Kaitlyn Marie Fodor, Makayla Alexis Fodor; and a maternal grandmother, Anna Kurzenberger of Parma, Ohio.

WALKER FRANKLIN WHITE
Walker Franklin White, 77, died Thursday (11-14-2013).

Funeral services were held Sunday (11-17-2013) at 2 p.m. at Burnette Chapel Church, Snow Camp.

Mr. White was born October 7, 1936 to the late William Franklin and Ethel Marie White. He worked 43 years on a dairy farm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances White; children, Joanna White, Stanley Jr. White, Kenny White; brothers, Harold White, Coy White and sister, Patricia W. Lloyd.

Survivors include children, William White of the home, George White of Silk Hope, Julius White of Seagrove, Kenneth White of Charlotte, Joseph Glover of Silk Hope, Helen Dark of Snow Camp; sister, Frannie Alston of Graham; brothers, Tommy White; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

MARY EVELYN GARNER MOHAGEN
Mary Evelyn Garner Mohagen, 84, passed away Monday, (11-18-2013) at Abernathy Laurels in Newton.

Funeral services were held Saturday, (11-23-2013) at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Cooper officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mary was born May 17, 1929 to the late Riley Blake and Lillie Moore Garner of Moore County. She retired from Bendix Corporation where she worked as an assembler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Derotha “Ishie” Garner Allred, Clara Garner Harrelson, Sallie Ann Garner Britt Hussey and brothers, Henry Douglas Garner and Jessie Edward Garner.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerald George Middleton Mohagen of the home in Stanley; daughter, Scarlett Chanter of Stanley; son, Franklin H. Lackey of Stanley; sisters, Josephine Forkner of Durham, Velma York of Seagrove; brother, Daniel Lee Garner of Carthage; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN38105.

TERRY HEATON BOWMAN
Ms. Terry Heaton Bowman, 55, of Siler City, passed away at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill on Saturday, (11-23-2013).

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, (11-27-2013), at Carbonton United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Joe Brady officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Ms. Bowman was a native of Moore County, and the daughter of the late Bobby Wayne Heaton, Sr and Linda Brown Heaton. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Martindale. Terry was self-employed.

Survivors include her daughters, Megan Oldham of Goldston, Lindsay Oldham of Siler City, Kelly Kontos of Greensboro; sister, Mary “Chris” Everwine of Siler City; brothers, Bobby Wayne Heaton, Jr. of Asheboro, Jeff Lautzenheiser of Braselton, GA; and four grandchildren.

ROBERT LEE FRAZIER
Mr. Robert Lee Frazier, 80, died Sunday (11-17-2013) at Randolph Hospice Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, (11-20-2013) at Gees Grove AME Zion Church

Mr. Frazier was born February 14, 1933 to the late Willie T. and Gladys Frazier. He was a member of Gees Grove AME Zion Church and was employed by Martin-Marietta for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Mae Frazier and a son, Robert Allen.

Survivors include sons, Keith Frazier, Tyler Frazier; daughter, Virginia Jones; brothers, Willie Frazier, Buddy Frazier, Roy Earl Frazier, and Roy Lee of Raleigh; sisters, Nannie Mae Alston of New York, Martha Brown, Ola McClenon, Ella Horton, all of Siler City; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

CALVIN JEROME ROBERSON
Calvin Jerome Roberson, better known as “Jack”, went peacefully from this earth Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born May 09, 1931 in Chatham County, NC. He had suffered from many health issues over the last three months.

He was a wonderfully loving husband, father and grandfather. Jack was also well known in Chatham County for his sense of humor and matter-of-fact. He loved camping, fishing, travel and taking care of and working with his “big toys” heavy equipment, singing to his wife, talking about his family, both past and present, taking care of his mobile home park, and just plain talking to everyone. Jack especially loved joining his brothers and sisters for their monthly dinner out.

Jack attended Bynum and Pittsboro, NC schools. He met the love of his life in the Roses Dime Store in Chapel Hill, NC. He and Mary Catherine Hines were married November 15, 1953. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served with honor until his discharge in 1955. In 1957, he graduated from Danville Technical Institute as a Linotype Operator and worked at the Durham Morning Herald for years. Afterwards, Jack entered into business for himself installing septic tanks. Jack and his wife started Parker’s Creek Mobile Home Parkand built the home where they resided, on the property.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie Ellis Roberson and Allen Roberson; two brothers, Waldo and Baby George Roberson; and a sister, Margaret Roberson Burnette.

He is survived by his wife Mary Catherine Hines Roberson; his daughter Jackie Roberson; his two sons, Greg and Rusty Roberson; his daughter-in-law, Marlina Roberson; five grandchildren, Dylan Rigsbee, Randi Roberson, Kaydi Roberson and Noah Roberson. He is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Roberson; and his sisters, Catherine Oldham, Grace Grumble, Mary Farrell, Betty Jean Riggsbee and Barbara Ferrell. He also has many nieces and nephews who love and remember him dearly.

Jack will be missed by many, but never forgotten for the man he was and the man we loved.

A viewing was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013 atMt.Gilead Baptist Church, in Pittsboro. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

MAXINE ANDREWS KIVETT
Maxine Andrews Kivett, 87, of Braxton Manor, Siler City, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City.

Mrs. Kivett was born in Chatham County on June 24, 1926, the daughter of Robert Coley and Myrtle (Powers) Andrews. She was retired from Belk-Yates as a sales associate. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Roland C. Kivett; her parents; brothers, Julian and Lewis Andrews.

She is survived by daughters, Jean K. Purvis and husband Bobby of Siler City, Ann K. Shaw and husband Tim of Sanford; grandchildren, Kim Purvis and husband David, Nikki Murchison and husband David, Shawn Culberson and wife Deanna, Jason Shaw and wife Ashley Buchanan, Megan S. Hayes and husband DeLane; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Allie Grace and Maggie Culberson, Dawson and Drake Purvis, Samuel, Sophia and Will Murchison, Henry and Lila Ruth Shaw; and arriving In January, Shaw Hayes.

The family received friends Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2:30 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Whittaker and Andrew Needham officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.

AUDREY DENISE RICHARDSON
Ms. Audrey Denise Richardson, 51, of Ramseur, passed away at her home on Sunday, (11-10-2013).

Funeral services were conducted Thursday (11-14-2013), at 11 a.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett with Chaplain Tony Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Road Baptist Church Cemetery in Randleman.

Ms. Richardson was a native of Richmond County, and was the daughter of Arthur Jack and Betty Jo Blackmon Braddock. She worked 22 years at Michael Thomas Furniture. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lee Richardson, her father, and brothers, William Alvin Braddock and Jackie Dean Braddock.

Survivors include her daughters, Shannon M. Oates, Karen Hassan; mother, Betty Jo Stubbs of Rockingham; sisters, Christy Nicodemus of Seagrove, Sandra Goodwin of Charleston, SC; brother, Michael Lisenby of Rockingham; and six grandchildren.

DAVID WESLEY SANDERFORD
David Wesley Sanderford, 23, of New Hill, died Tuesday (11-12-2013) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Graveside services were held Friday (11-15-2013) at the Merry Oaks Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Ronald Humphreys officiating.

Mr. Sanderford was born April 11, 1990, the son of David Earl Sanderford and Susan Perkins Yoque. A member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack E. Sanderford.

Survivors include his father Davis Earl Sanderford of the home; mother, Susan Perkins Yoque of Siler City; brothers, Bobby A. Sanderford, Donald Joe Sanderford, both of Bear Creek; grandparents, Dorothy O. “Tootie” Sanderford, Carol Thomas, both of New Hill, and Jimmy Perkins of Pittsboro.

HAZEL HINSHAW SMITH
Hazel Hinshaw Smith, 88, of Staley, died Tuesday, (11-12-2013) at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, (11-16-2013), at Staley Baptist Church, with Rev. Clifford Williams officiating. Burial followed in Staley Cemetery.

Hazel was a native of Chatham County, a retired mail carrier, and a member of Staley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. G. Smith, parents, Willie and Mary Dixon Hinshaw; grandchildren, Mandy Gilley, Richard Smith, great grandchildren, Haley and Sarah Rierson.

Surviving are sons, Bobby Smith, Barrett Smith, both of Siler City; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Staley Baptist Church, 440 W. Railroad Street, Staley or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1414 E. 11th Street, Siler City, NC 27344.
