JOHNIE G. WOMACK
Johnie G. Womack, 80 of Sanford died Tuesday, (12-03-2013) at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Arrangements are incomplete but will be announced by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

IVAN CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS’ SEAL
Ivan Christopher “Chris” Seal, 38, of Bear Creek died Monday, (12-02-2013).

A memorial service was held Friday, (12-06-2013) at 2 p.m. in Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tim Qualls officiating.

Mr. Seal was born March 12, 1975 in Picayune, Mississippi, the son of Ivan M. Seal and Marilyn Boone Tucker. He was employed as a structural welder, worked with Special Olympics in Chatham County, and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Picayune, MS.

Survivors include a son, Ivan Mason Seal; daughters, Keely Alexis, Jaxon Grace, Raceine Louise Seal; father, Ivan M. Seal of Bear Creek; mother, Marilyn Boone Tucker of Bear Creek; brothers, James Douglas Seal of Bear Creek, and David Mcray Seal of Hattiesburg, MS.

RUTH KEY ALLEN
Ruth Key Allen died Friday, (12-06-2013) at the Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Memorial services will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2201 Hawkins Avenue, Sanford Saturday (12-14-2013) at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband William Lewis Allen.

Survivors include her children, Cherry Richardson at Greenville, SC, Thomas Allen of Savannah, GA, Adair Sloan of Freeport, NY, and Joyce Cheek of Goldston.

MELVIN ASHE
Mr. Melvin Ashe, 79, of Siler City died Thursday (12-05-2013) at Genesis Health Care.

Funeral services will be held at the First Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, (12-14-2013) at 12:30 p.m. Visit with the family from 11 a.m. to funeral time, at the church.

Mr. Ashe, born January 31, 1934, was a retired police officer with the New York City Police Department and a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy. A member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, usher, and sang in the male chorus.

Survivors include his wife, Francine Ashe; daughters, Carolyn Petway, Glenda Bolling; sister, Patricia Ashe; brothers, Eugene Ashe, Maurice Ashe, John Bland; and three granddaughters.

BEULAH STONE HINSHAW
Beulah Stone Hinshaw, 92, of Tom Stevens Road, Siler City died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Alamance Regional Hospital, Burlington.

Mrs. Hinshaw was born in Chatham County on November 16, 1921, the daughter of Willie Harrison and Elizabeth (Campbell) Stone. She was a graduate of the Burlington Business School. Mrs. Hinshaw was a homemaker and member of Plainfield Friends Meeting, where she was a life member of the USFW, served as Clerk of the Meeting and Sunday School teacher. She was a life member of the Silk Hope Home Demonstration Club. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Hinshaw.

She is survived by one son, Noble W. Hinshaw and wife Kay; grandson, Roger Hinshaw and wife Judy; granddaughter, Deborah Hinshaw Rickman and husband Freddie, all of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Joy Hinshaw, Corey, Cassie and Carson Rickman; step-grandchildren, Nikki Edmonds and husband, Travis of Cary, Kim Beane and husband Don of Siler City; step-great-grandchildren, Katelan, Chey and Jillian Beane; sister, Turlie Lievers of Golconda, IL and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.

The funeral was held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Plainfield Friends Meeting, 1956 Plainfield Church Road, Siler Citywith Kevin Rollins and Rev. Greg Burriss officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Plainfield Friends Meeting Cemetery Fund, C/O Rhonda Sheffield, 7440 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City, NC 27344.

JOSEPH “JC” CARL HART
Joseph “JC” Carl Hart, 72, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home in Cleveland, SC.

Mr. Hart was born in Sanford, the son of the late Arthur and Betty Poe Hart. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church in Bear Creek, and he served in the U.S. Army, where he received several awards including a Bronze Star.

Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Claudia Hart; two sons, Shane and Jason; two sisters, Elizabeth Hamer and Frances Norris; and two grandsons.

Graveside services will be held at Antioch Christian Church in Bear Creek, Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:30 a.m.

FLOYD JOHNSON RIGGS
Floyd Johnson Riggs, 78, of Newport, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at home.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Dobbs officiating. Interment followed at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Floyd was born in Craven County, and was a resident of Carteret County for 54 years. He retired as a painting contractor. Mr. Riggs was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Foster Riggs, parents, William and Lyda Mae Phillips Riggs, and four siblings.

Survivors include two sons, Randy J. Riggs and wife Connie of Newport, Jeffrey S. Riggs and wife Lisa of Siler City; four grandchildren, Chris Riggs and wife Meredith, Jonathan Riggs, Rebecca Riggs, Matthew Riggs; three great-grandchildren, Meriste, Ambrianne, and Jareth Riggs; two sisters, Isabelle Riggs of Las Vegas, NV, and Ellen Davis and husband William of New Bern, NC.

LOIS SUGG WILLETT
Lois Sugg Willett, 85, of Siler City, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Siler City Center, after several months of declining health.

Lois was born on July 27, 1928, in High Point, to Grace Brown Sugg and Charlie F. Sugg. The family moved to Randolph County, where she graduated from Seagrove High School in 1945. She attended Pfeiffer College and graduated from Logan College inSt. Louis, Mo., with a doctorate in Chiropractic.

She married Dr. Walter B. Crider Jr. and set up her Chiropractic practice in Siler City, where she served the community for more than forty years.

She was a member of the Guilford Battle Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Winnie Davis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy for more than 50 years.

Lois was later married to the late Thomas Howard Willett of Bonlee.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Charles Sugg of Charlotte and wife Mary; daughter, Nancy E. Howard of Carthage; son, Robert Willett of Raleigh and wife Marlette; four grandchildren, Katherine Taylor Smith, Gerry L. Taylor, Candace R. Willett and Ava Grace Willett; and two great-grandchildren, Avery T. Brown and Cassidy Smith.

Following a private graveside burial, a memorial service will be held Friday, December 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Erect.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Home Care and Hospice of Chatham County and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

BONNIE PHILLIPS VAN GORDER

Mrs. Bonnie Phillips Van Gorder, age 82, of Vesta passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing Home.

She was born in Carthage, NCon April 3, 1931.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Van Gorder of the home; two daughters, Judy Benrud of Cary, Becky Young of Raleigh; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Jones of Moncure; and one brother, Atlas Phillips of Sanford.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.

FELICIA ANDREW BEAVERS
Felecia Andrew Beavers, 78, of Siler City died Saturday, (11-30-2013) at the Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, (12-04-2013) at 2 p.m. at Edward Hill Friends Meeting with Josh Conrad officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Beavers was born in Chatham County on March 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Burton Albert and Eula (Whitehead) Andrew. She was a homemaker and had worked at A. J. Schneierson and Sons. Felecia was a member of Edward Hill Friends Meeting, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years, was a former Elder, held several offices, served on several committees, and worked with Vacation Bible School.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Cecil L. Beavers; sons, Leon Beavers of Sanford, Lynn Beavers of Garner; daughters, Cheryl B. Hilliard of Bear Creek, Janelle Beavers of Siler City, Julia B. Kidd of High Falls; brother, Earle Ben Andrew of Robbins; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Edward Hill Friends Meeting, 92 Ed Leonard Road, Siler City, NC 27344.

SYLVIA BULLINS JONES
Sylvia Bullins Jones, 84, of Vass died Saturday, (11-13-2013), at her daughter’s home in Carthage.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, (12-04-2013) at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Rev. George Brice presiding. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was born in Hoke County, September 27, 1929, to the late Ernest Bullins and Levia Simpson Bullins. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Vivian Jones; son, James Lee Jones, and a brother, Bill Bullins. Mrs. Jones worked as a seamstress for Angus Mills prior to retirement.

Surviving relatives include daughters, Josephine Marks, Patricia Marks, Jeannette Johnson, all of Cameron, Darlene McCoy of Carthage; sister, Ruby Cheek of Cameron; eleven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

JOHNNIE BUFORD WRIGHT
Johnnie Buford Wright, 84, of Liberty, passed away Tuesday (11-26-2013) at Wesley Long Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday (11-30-2013) at 2 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Francis officiating. Burial followed in Gilmore Memorial Park.

Buford was the son of the late William Henry and Dessie Gunter Wright. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Sawyer Wright; son, Johnny Alan Wright; sister, Eunice Phillippie and brothers, Clarence and Edward Wright.

Survivors include sons, Phillip Wright of Snow Camp, Steve Wright of Liberty; sisters, Ruth Cox of Asheboro, Eva Beal, Treva Davis, both of Siler City; brother, Henry “Jr” Wright of Liberty; and six grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4AOak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.

GARY LEWIS HOLT
Gary Lewis Holt, 84, of Sanford died Saturday, (11-30-2013), at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, (12-03-2013) at 3 p.m. at Swann Station Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Blackmon and Rev. Jerry Parsons presiding. Burial followed in the Cameron Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Holt was born in Harnett County, September 16, 1929 to the late Lewis Gray Holt and Docia Graham Holt. He was the former co-owner of D & H Hardware in Sanford for many years. Mr. Holt was a member at Swann Station Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He served his country during the Korean War.

Surviving relatives include his wife Donna Scott Holt of the home; a daughter, Lisa Holt Faulk of Sanford; sisters, Ruby Holt Godwin, Mary Holt Dickens, both of Sanford; and three grandchildren.

JIMMIE HENNINGS
Jimmie Hennings of Cameron, died Thursday, (11-28-2013), at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, AL.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, (12-03-2013) at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Rev. Brian Teeter presiding. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hennings was born in Moore County on December 21, 1943, to the late Wesley Sanford Hennings and Lydia Cameron Hennings. He was the owner of Hennings Electric Company. Mr. Hennings served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and a volunteer Fire Chief for a time.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Marks Hennings of the home; daughters, Kim Thompson, Paula Finchum, both of Cameron; brothers, Herman Hennings of Vass, Robert Hennings of Carthage; and four grandchildren.
