JOYCE N. REHEIS
Joy, our mom and friend, passed away at 5 a.m. Sunday, July 28 2013 at The Laurels of Chatham.

The joy, strength, wisdom, and inspiration she brought to so many lives will be in our hearts and minds forever.

Joyce Reheis was 78, and lived at Twin Rivers Independent Senior Community in Pittsboro.

She was born in Clinton, NC on September 19, 1934, a daughter to the late Patrick Henry Newsome and Virginia Collins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Crosley and two sisters, June Augilar and Peggy Howe.

She is survived by her son, Dana Crosley of Pittsboro; her daughters, Debbie Hardie of Pittsboro, Lisa Eslambolchi of Crozet, VA, and Stefanie Crosley of FL; her brothers, Phillip Partin of Chapel Hill, NC and William Partin of Apex, NC; her grandchildren, Dorian Crosley, Ashley Sigmon, Leila Eslambolchi and Kian Eslambolchi; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan Sigmon and Brooke Sigmon.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Hall-Wynne Funeral home in Pittsboro.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Hospice center of your choice.

Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.

DENNIS E. COLEMAN
Dennis E. Coleman, an avid hunter, and former tow truck driver who enjoyed helping others in their time of need, died Friday, July 26, 2013. He was 55. Dennis died at home in Chapel Hill, NC, after a four year fight with kidney cancer.

Born December 18, 1957, in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late Donald B. Coleman and Joan Potter Coleman Thomas.

Dennis spent a great deal of his time outdoors in the woods hunting deer and turkey; actually, whatever was in season. He loved riding his Harley, spending time with family, and hanging out with friends. He was a remarkable man, loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Ross Coleman of Chapel Hill, NC; his daughter, Haylee Jenelle Coleman of Chapel Hill, NC; his brother, Martin and (Kimberly) Coleman of Newport, NY; his sister, Denice Coleman Mills Carr of Remsen, NY; his nephews, Travis Coleman and partner Brittany, and Adam Coleman; his nieces, Laurie and (Ryan) Corn, Elizabeth Mills and fiancé Ryan, and Tiffany Carr; his great nieces, Jaydin and Alexa; and his great nephew, Preston, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father listed above, and his stepfather, Richard Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Local Bar (former Little Bar), Route 64, Apex, NC. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7 at Prospect Cemetery, Prospect, NY. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the VFW in Remsen, NY, following the service.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all who helped during this difficult time.

NANCY VAUGHAN
Nancy Vaughan, age 69, has gone to be with our Heavenly Father as of July 27, 2013. She has gone to join her loving husband, Ellis Paul Vaughan, Jr., both her parents, one brother, one sister, and a daughter.

Surviving is a son, Jimmy Springfield and wife Cheryl of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Michelle Boone and husband Wade, Kim Scotto DiPerta, all of Siler City; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Sandra (Lee) Errico and husband Trip of Siler City; and brother, Danny Recchia.

May She Rest in Peace!

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, at 805 Woodland Drive, Siler City with calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m.

RICKIE LEE LEMONS
Rickie Lee Lemons, 61, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 28, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Revs. Steve Joyce and Duncan Martin. The graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. in Mount Vernon United Methodist Church cemetery, Silk Hope.

The family saw friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Rickie was born February 12, 1952 in Chatham County to Raymond Lindburgh Lemons and Bobbie Joann Whitt Lemons. He was a 14 year survivor of throat cancer, a member of the Western Piedmont Speak Easy Group and retired in 2001 from QST Textiles in Mocksville. He was preceded in death by his father in 1984, and his grandmothers, Jessie Whitt Scott and Bessie Lemons Harris.

He is survived by his mother of the home; cousins, Robin Smith Jones (Lee) of Burlington and Robert Bryan Smith (Tina) of Kernersville; aunts, Mrs. Bobbie Isley and Mrs. Bertha Ward, both of Greensboro; his great aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Lemons Wicker of Siler City and Mike Robertson, who was like a brother to Rickie.

KENNETH EUGENE WILSON
Kenneth Eugene Wilson, 77, of Franklinville, died Tuesday, (03-19-2013) at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, (03-22-2013), at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial followed at Franklinville United Methodist Church Cemetery, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Mr. Wilson was a native of Randolph County, a US Army veteran, retired from Ramtex, and a member of Franklinville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Clarice Beane Wilson, of the home; daughters, Rita Renee Wilson, Theresa King, both of Asheboro; sons, Kenneth Bryan Wilson of Snow Camp, Tim Hayes of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.

LOUISE POWERS BRANTLEY
Louise Powers Brantley, 81, of Sanford, died Saturday, (03-23-2013) at Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral was held at Grace Chapel on Monday, (03-25-2013) at 4 p.m. with Dr. Rudy Holland, Rev. Tony Moore and Rev. Bob Yandle officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Brantley, two brothers, two sisters and her parents, James Powers and Viola Wood Powers. She was a member of Grace Chapel Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Brantley Wall of Sanford; a sister Wilma Mangold of VA; and two granddaughters.

DREMA DARLENE INGRAM AVILA
Drema Darlene Ingram Avila 39, of Ramseur, passed away Sunday, (03-24-2013).

A private memorial service will be held at later date.

Ms. Avila was a Randolph County native.

She is survived by daughters, Loretta K. Garner, Lucinda and Julieannie Avila, all of the home; mother, Drema K. Ingram of Ramseur; sisters, April Medlin of Robbins, Rhonda Hadden and Felicia, both of Florida; brothers, Hershey Stevens of Asheboro, Robert Stevens of Ramseur; and one grandchild.

The family is receiving friends at her residence.

GEORGE EDWARD WILLIAMS, SR.
Mr. George E. Williams, Sr., passed away.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (03-28-2013) at Evans Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will follow at Mitchell Chapel A.M.E.Zion Church Cemetery, with Rev. Kenneth L. Swann officiating.

Mr. Williams was the son of Exline and Sunnie Williams and a native of Chatham County. He was a member of Evans Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and educated at the Chatham County Training School. He retired from Joan Fabrics. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Smith Williams, a sister, Pauline Nettles and brother, Tolbert Williams.

Survivors include daughters, Doris Williams of Bronx, NY, Genesis Williams of the home; son, George E. Williams, II of the home; step-daughter, April Smith of Siler City; sister, Corene Blair of Greensboro, Gerlene Taylor of Pittsboro; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

HAROLD HORVATH
Mr. Harold Horvath 81, of Carthage passed away Monday, (03-18-2013 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

BEVERLY ROGERS McSWAIN
Mrs. Beverly Rogers McSwain, 59, of Siler City, died Friday, (03-22-2013) at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Funeral services were held Tuesday (03-26-2013) at Unity Powerhouse Church with Bishop William Goins, officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park.

Mrs. McSwain was born February 1, 1954, the daughter of Lizzie L. Lindley and John Rogers. She was preceded in death by a brother, Doyl Rogers.

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert McSwain; daughters, Shannon Rogers of Atlanta, GA, Kirshe McSwain, Alonna McSwain, both of Chapel Hill; brothers and sisters, Johnny Rogers, Rodhan Rogers, Larry Rogers, Hattie Alston, Ednaqette Patterson, all of Siler City, Shirley Jackson of Winston-Salem, Larry Rogers of Hamlet; and four grandsons.

GRAHAM LEON MATTHEWS
Graham Leon Matthews, 66, of Siler City died Monday (03-11-2013) at his home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, (03-17-2013) at 3 p.m. at Lambert Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. William Harrington officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A native of Chatham County, Mr. Matthews was a graduate of Chatham High School.

Survivors include daughters, Belissa Lee of Moncure, Angela Dingle of Oklahoma City, OK; sons, Timothy Matthews of Manhattan, KS, Daniel Terrell Yarborough of Coleridge; sisters, Beatrice Matthews, Sharon Siler, Ivey Smith, Betty McCrimmon, all of Siler City, Rosa Evans of Flagstaff, AZ, Phyllis Tart, Lena Brooks, Frances Moffitt, Daisy Currie, all of Siler City; brothers, William Matthews, Garland Matthews, Steve Matthews, all of Siler City Donald Matthews of Randleman; and seven grandchildren.

CHARLIE CARSON “CC” ROUTH, JR.
Charlie Carson “CC” Routh, Jr., 90, of Bonlee died Monday, (03-11-2013) at Coventry House of Siler City.

Funeral services were held Friday, (03-15-2013) at 2 p.m. at Bonlee Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial followed in Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Routh was born in Randolph County on March 28, 1922, the son of Charles C. and Elizabeth Jane (Cox) Routh, Sr. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church and a cattle farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene (Wilkie) Routh; daughters, Janet R. Johnson of Winterville, Nancy R. Selken of Tallahassee, Florida; brother, John Routh of Bear Creek; and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

WILLIAM EDWARD SMITH, JR.
William Edward Smith, Jr., 62, of Pittsboro died Monday (03-11-2013) at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday (03-15-2013) at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Faust officiating.

Mr. Smith was a native of Chatham County, born March 28, 1951, the son of the late William Edward Smith and Flossie Mae Brown Smith. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances C. Cooper.

He is survived by a sister, Lois Pascall of Grant's Pass, Oregon.

LUCY “DEROTHA” GARNER ALLRED
Mrs. Lucy “Derotha” Garner Allred, 95, of Robbins passed away Saturday, (03-16-2013).

Graveside funeral services were conducted Monday, (03-18-2013) at 2 p.m. atCalvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Allred was a Moore County native, retired from the textile industry, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Riley B. and Lillie Moore Garner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Allred, a son, Vernon “Buck” Allred, and granddaughters, Karen Myrick and Sharon A. Craven.
Surviving is a daughter, Verline A. Myrick of Robbins; sisters, Mary “Evelyn” Mohagen of Stanley, Josephine Forkner of Durham, Velma York of Seagrove; brother, Daniel Lee Garner of Carthage; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
