BERNIECE SAYERS KEY
Berniece Sayers Key, 91, of Siler City died Tuesday, (12-20-2011) at Heartland Living & Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro.
A graveside service was held Friday, (12-23-2011) at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating.
Mrs. Key was born June 23, 1920 in Tazewell County, Virginia, the daughter of Olbert and Stella Maude (Sparks) Sayers. She was a homemaker. Berniece was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce N. Key.
Survivors include daughters, Lynn K. Mathews of Greensboro, Diane K. Hobbs of Siler City; sister, Virginia Sayers of Garden Grove, CA; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

DINO RUDOLPHO TORDINI
Dino Rudolpho Tordini, 80, of Bear Creek died Saturday, (12-24-2011) at his home.
A funeral service will be at a later date in New Jersey.
Mr. Tordini was born August 19, 1931, in Bergen County, NJ, the son of Antonio and Fulvia Ciotti Tordini. He was a Marine veteran, and a retired New Jersey school teacher.
He is survived by one brother, Armando Tordini of Bear Creek.

NOVA HUSSEY GARNER
Nova Hussey Garner, 89, of Bennett passed away Sunday (12-25-2011) at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday (12-28-2011) at 2 p.m. at High Falls Wesleyan Church with Rev. Roger Riffe and Rev. Billy Joe Brady officiating. Burial followed in the Church cemetery.
Mrs. Garner was a Moore County native, a homemaker and retired from Chirpy’s BBQ. A charter member of High Falls Wesleyan Church,
she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Garner and daughter, Helen McDowell.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Garner of the home; son, Johnny Garner of Bennett; sister, Willa Mae Carlyle of Bennett; brother, Charlie Hussey of Bennett; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

BERTHA FARRAR BRUTON
Ms. Bertha Farrar Bruton, 83, of Pittsboro died Thursday (12-08-2011) at Laurels of Chatham.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (12-13-2011) at Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church with Rev. R. Phillip Lynch officiating. Burial followed in Pittsboro Community Cemetery.
Ms. Bruton was born in Chatham County and was a member of Mt. Sinai Church where she was a class leader, Sunday school teacher and member of the missionaries. She worked as a CNA II for 25 years.
Surviving are children, Brenda Marsh, Charles Bruton, Easter Bland, Nettie and William; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Brooks, Mary Beaves, Josephine Lightsey, Mamniel Lynn; and brother, John Lynn.
MYRTIS FOX RITTER
Myrtis Fox Ritter, 90, of Seagrove, died Monday, (12-26-2011) at Carolina House of Asheboro.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, (12-29-2011) at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Seagrove with Rev. Russell Chrisco and Rev. Scott Walker officiating.
Mrs. Ritter was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker, and a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Sarah Maness Fox.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce Pilson of Cameron, Wanda Myrick, Grace Little, both of Seagrove; sons, Rodney Ritter, Dwight Ritter, both of Seagrove; sister, Nellie Chriscoe of Seagrove; ten grandchildren, three great granddaughters, three step- grandchildren, six step-great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur.
MAMIE “POLLY” LEE BURGRESS ELLIS
Mamie “Polly” Lee Burgress Ellis, 96, died at her home at Cambridge Hills in Pittsboro, on Sunday (12-25-2011).
Services were held Wednesday (12-28-2011) at 2 p.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Robinson officiating.
Ms. Ellis was born in Chatham County, April 02, 1915. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church. Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Lee Ellis, a daughter Pauline Ellis Burns, her parents, Junie and Alice Burgress, and a brother, William Theodore “Stumpy” Burgress.
Visitation was held Wednesday (12-28-2011) at 1 p.m at Mount Gilead Baptist Church
JOHN MAURICE SHAMBURGER
John Maurice Shamburger, 47, of Siler City died Tuesday (12-13-2011) at Chatham Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lambert Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. William Harrington, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanetta G. Shamberger; sons, Justin Craven, Jonathan Shamberger, both of Asheboro, Christopher Matthews of the home; mother, Lola Nobles of Robbins; sisters, Chentha McIntyre of High Point, and Bridgette Walden of Liberty.
MARY ALICE M. GOLDSTON
Mary Alice M. Goldston, 65, of Siler City died Tuesday (12-20-2011) at U.N.C. Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held Saturday, (12-24-2011) at 12 noon at Centenniel A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Marcus Williams officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Goldston was a native of Chatham County and a retired C.N.A.
Survivors include daughter, Georgianna Vargus of Siler City; son, James Edward Goldston of Siler City; mother, Beatrice W. Marsh of Siler City; sisters, Mary D. Foxx, Annie B. Marsh, both of Bear Creek, Crissy M. Farrar of Siler City, Josephine M. Neal of Goldston, Stella M. Tysor of Bear Creek; brothers, Obie Marsh, Jr., Leroy Marsh, both of Bear Creek, Earl Marsh of Goldston; and five grandchildren.
JERRY HARRIS FOX
Jerry Harris Fox, 60, of Liberty died Wednesday, (12-21-2011) at his home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, (12-29-2011) at Corinth A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Mary J. Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Fox was a native of Randolph County and a retired auto mechanic.
Survivors include is wife, Rayette F. Fox; mother, Harris Mae Fox of Liberty; daughters, Tina Louise Fox of Asheboro, Tiara Brittini Fox of Siler City; sons, Jeremy Todd Fox of Liberty, Travis L. Fike, Jerry Torrence Fox, both of Siler City; brother, David F. Fox of Staley; and one sister, Mary P. Fox of Staley.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, (12-29-2011) at the church.
LOUISE AGUSTA GRAVES JORDAN
Louise Agusta Graves Jordan, 88, of Liberty, died Wednesday (12-21-2011) at her home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (12-28-2011) at 3 p.m. at Lamberts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. William Harrington officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the church from 2:30 to 3 p.m., before the service.
A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Jordan was a retired homemaker and a member of Lamberts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Louretta J. Fike of Liberty, Berlinda Brower of Sanford; sons, Willie Jordan, Sr. of Siler City, Earl Jordan of Fort Mills, SC; sisters, Betty Staley of Siler City; brother, James Graves of Philadelphia, PA; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
JAMES “JIM” MOODY
Mr. James Albert "Jim" Moody, 79, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011, at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Reaves officiating. Burial followed at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors were provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard, of which he was a former member.
A native of Randolph County, Mr. Moody was born August 13, 1932, in Stokes County. He was the son of the late Gurney Alfred Moody, who was a World War II veteran, and Lena Gladys Stultz Moody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Ree Moody and his brother, Robert Moody. Jim was a graduate of Asheboro High School and attended Elon University. He also served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He began working in the restaurant industry at the age of fourteen. In 1960 he became the co-owner of Brownie-Lu Restaurant in Siler City until 2005. Jim enjoyed participating in the Senior Games in his later years. He was an active member of Balfour Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Moody is survived by his wife, Faye Dunlap Moody of the home; daughter, Taina Moody Shaw and husband, Van, of Concord; son, J. Derrick Moody and wife Jana, of Summerfield; sister, Dorothy Henson of Siler City; brother, David Moody of Asheboro; grandchildren, Hannah Shaw, Madison Shaw, Jacob Moody, and Nathaniel Moody.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Balfour Baptist Church and again from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011.
