GONZALO ROBLES GONZALEZ

Gonzalo Robles Gonzalez, 72, of Bear Creek died Sunday, (10-31-2010) at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (11-06-10 at the family home, 1325 Bonlee School Road, Bear Creek, 27207. Rev. Dale Shackleford and Rev. Jim Whittaker will officiate.

Mr. Gonzalez was born December 8, 1937 in New York City, NY the son of Candido and Maria Robles Gonzalez. He was employed with Moore Machine Company, and of the Catholic Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hamrick Gonzalez; sons, Salo Gonzalez of Fayetteville, Dino Gonzalez of Orlando FL; six grandchildren; step-sons, Steven Lee Pate of Royal, AL; and five step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the family.

WALLACE CLIFTON BEASLEY, SR.

Wallace Clifton Beasley, Sr., 88, of Pittsboro died Sunday (10-31-2010).

A service will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Beasley was a member of the Moose Lodge and a founder of the Fayetteville Chapter of the AARP. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Arnold Beasley, and his brother, Oliver Beasley.

He is survived by his children: Wallace Clifton Beasley, Jr. of Pittsboro, Rodney Lee Beasley of Farmville; two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

In lieu of sending flowers to the family, the family requests that you send flowers to an elderly friend or relative.

KYLE MORRIS ALLRED

Kyle Morris Allred, 53, of Pittsboro died Monday (11-01-2010).

A celebration of life with be held on Sunday (11-07-2010) at Pittsboro Baptist Church at 2 p.m. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes spread at Sunset Beach.

He was born July 19, 1957 in Randolph County, the son of the late Adrian and Harolene “Tot” Allred. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Kimber Allred Pilkington and a brother, Kirk Allred.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Allred Ashworth of Sanford; brother, Kent Allred of Pittsboro; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall, and at other times at the home of Kent and Rita Allred in Pittsboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

EUNICE A. VARNER

Eunice A. Varner, 86, of Pittsboro died Sunday (10-31-2010) at the Care Home of Pittsboro Christian Village.

A graveside service will be held at Sky View Memorial Park in Asheville at 1 p.m. Saturday, (11-06-2010).

A graduate of Lee Edwards High School, she retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Oteen. She volunteered for the Land-of-Sky Regional Council, and was a member of the Ashville Gospel Chapel where she taught Sunday school and worked in the leadership of the AWANA program.

Miss Varner was preceded in death by her father, mother, and two sisters. She is survived by her brother, J. Harry Varner of Alpharetta, GA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

KENNETH R. STUBBS

Kenneth R. Stubbs, 67, of Fayetteville died Thursday (10-28-2010).

Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (11-03-2010) at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Mr. Stubbs was the son of the late John and Jessie Stubbs. He served twelve years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.

Survivors include sons, Ken, Jr., Chris, Scott; daughter, Jessica; sister, Sandra Manning, Sharon Elsenbeck; and four grandchildren.

RACHAEL LOUISE JOHNSON

Miss Rachael Louise Johnson, of Siler City died Monday, (11-01-2010) at Care View Rest Home in Snow Camp.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, (11-03-2010) at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. David Swartz and Rev. Rodney Staley officiating.

Miss Johnson was the daughter of William A. and Stella Harris Johnson. She was a native of Chatham County and a UNC Chapel Hill graduate. She was owner-operator of United Realty, was previously employed as a Guidance Counselor with the Chatham County School System and had taught Business at Davidson College. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Johnson and half-sister, Christian Johnson.

Surviving is a brother, Bobby G. Johnson of Siler City.

The family received friends Wednesday, (11-03-2010), one hour prior to the graveside service at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home..

DANIEL LEE “DANNY” BAKER

Daniel Lee “Danny” Baker, 37, of Asheboro died Saturday, (10-30-2010) at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, (11-06-2010) at 2 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Lilly officiating. Burial will be in the First Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Randleman.

Mr. Baker was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School, and was a member of Asheboro Holiness Missionary Church. He was employed with Cox's Harley-Davidson and was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Maness Baker.

He is survived by sons, John Hollis Dennis of Troy, Zachary Daniel Lee Baker of Asheboro; daughter, Wendy Lee Baker of Asheboro; father, Daniel Franklin Baker of Asheboro; and sister, Jaime Baker Markwood of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Friday, (11-05-2010) from 6-9 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro.

Memorials may be made to Asheboro Holiness Missionary Church, 1145 Foxfire Road, Asheboro, NC 27205.

GENEVA PHILLIPS LOWE

Geneva Phillips Lowe, 80, of 16941 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek went to her heavenly home Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.

Mrs. Lowe was born June 3, 1930, the daughter of Charlie P. and Mary Juliet Phillips.
Geneva's main love was her God and her family. Mrs. Lowe was a native of Chatham County and a retired supervisor with Townsend Hatchery with 30 years of service. Geneva was a member of Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Maranatha Sunday School Class and Sisters in Services. She loved gardening, her flowers and cooking. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Michael Lowe, three sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bob Lowe of the home; one daughter, Cheryl L. Poe and husband, Michael of Bear Creek; two sons, Darryl Lowe of Bear Creek, Ronnie Lowe of Bear Creek; one brother, Curtis Phillips and wife, Shirley of Trinity; five grandchildren, Lisa Lowe, Michelle Lowe, Jason Lowe, Melissa Lowe and Rebecca Poe; one great granddaughter, Haley Corley, and many special nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Friday, October 29, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral was held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church, 17475 US 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Mark Richardson and Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial was held in Hickory Grove Baptist Cemetery.

HOWARD C. MOON

Howard C. Moon, 89, of Snow Camp died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Moon was born December 8, 1920, the son of A.W. and Maude (Terry) Moon, Sr. Mr. Moon was a native of Chatham County, a graduate of Sylvan High School, a retired cattle farmer, an active member of Plainfield Friends Meeting where he was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class, served as a Trustee, and on other numerous committees. He was a member of the Silk Hope Ruritan Club with 51 years of perfect attendance. He was past president and former Ruritan of the Year. Howard was a founding member of the Chatham County Livestock Association, member of the Chatham County Agricultural Business Council, member of the first elected Chatham County Agricultural Hall of Fame. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin, Homard, A.W. Moon, Jr.; sister, Marcelle Moon; and special brother-in-law, Herbert H. Buckner.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rochelle (Buckner) Moon; one daughter, Cheryl M. Hargrove and husband Turner of Siler City; one son, Gary H. Moon of Snow Camp; one sister, Ethel Buckner of Siler City; granddaughter, Aprille M. Loflin and husband Matt of Raleigh; grandson, Turner Hargrove, Jr. and wife, Pam of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Luke and Ashton Hargrove of Siler City, Maxwell Loflin of Raleigh; daughter-in-law, Bonnie T. Moon of Snow Camp; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, and other times at the family home. The funeral was held Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Plainfield Friends Meeting, 1956 Plainfield Church Road, Siler City with Ken Spivey officiating. Burial followed in the Meeting Cemetery.

ALBERT GERALD (JERRY) REAVIS

Albert Gerald (Jerry) Reavis, 71, of 515 Gilmore Lodge Road, Siler City died Friday, October 29, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Reavis was born December 6, 1938, the son of Albert O. and Bessie (Dobson) Reavis. Mr. Reavis was born in Davie County, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Siler City where he served as chairman of the Counsel on Ministry, a teach of the Challenger Sunday School Class and served the church faithfully. Jerry served on the Board of Directors of BB&T and Chatham Hospital. He was Regional manger of PalletOne and Sheffield Lumber & Pallet Company, Inc. and was still serving on the board of directors. He was a former member of the Mocksville Rurital Club and worked with Habitat for Humanity. He was an avid gardener, loved fishing and going to the coast. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Daniel A. Reavis and a sister, Judy Reavis.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sylvia (Phelps) Reavis; two daughters, Marsha McGreevey and husband, William of Johnson City, TN, Wendy Barber and husband, Louis of Stoney Creek; one son, Kenneth G. Reavis and wife, Robin of Siler City; three sisters, Carolyn Beck and husband, James of Destin, FL, Pat Cartner and husband, Edgar of Harmony, Mary Howard and husband, William of Mocksville; one brother, Joe Reavis and wife, Debbie of Burlington; grandchildren, Amie Reavis of Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen McGreevey of Johnson City, TN, John (Jack) Albert McGreevey of Johnson City, TN; Holly Barber of Stoney Creek; Alexandria Barber of Stoney Creek, and Abigail Barber of Stoney Creek.

The family received friends Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The memorial service was held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, Siler City with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating.

ESTELLE JOHNSON HARPER

Estelle Harper, 90, of Siler City died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Harper was born April 8, 1920, the daughter of Cary Lee and Julia Ann Perry Johnson. Mrs. Harper was a native of Chatham County and a member of First Wesleyan Church. She was retired from Glendale Hosiery and the Siler City Police Department. Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harper; daughter, Linda Harper, Moon; her parents; sisters, Mossie Ann Johnson Woody, Doris Teague Collins, brother, Charles A. Johnson, Henry Edward Johnson and Cary Lee Johnson.

Survivors include one sister, Fatima Teague Groce of Siler City; one brother, Floyd Teague, Jr. of Siler City; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 2-3 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church, 608 North Third Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344. The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 31, at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Eddie McClure officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park.

WORTHA CLAYTON STOUT

Wortha Clayton Stout, 96, died on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his residence.

A funeral service was held Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Rocky River Friends Meeting. Burial followed in the meeting house cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stout was the son of the late Wortha A. and Mettie R. Hinshaw Stout. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Daisy May Stout; infant sisters, Sintha and Netie Stout; brothers, Lacy and Edgar Stout.

Surviving are his daughters, Berniece Stout and Cleta Coble (Paul) both of Siler City; son, Wayne Stout of Siler City; and three grandchildren, Sunshine, Sarah and Hannah.

Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty had the honor of serving The Stout Family.
