Mrs. Rosa Mae Maness, 86, of Robbins died Tuesday (10-12-2010) at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur.
Graveside service was held Friday (10-15-2010) at 11 a.m. at High Falls United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Kidd and Rev. Jonathan Mills officiating.
Mrs. Maness was a Moore County native, a homemaker and beautician. She was a member of High Falls United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and worked with the youth program. She was involved with the Moore County senior Olympic games.
Survivors include daughter, Linda M. Vaughn of Asheboro; sons, Michael Maness, Ray Maness, both of Robbins; sisters, Dorothy Priest of Carthage, Olene Patterson of West End; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

DARREN L.TROGDON
Darren Lee Trogdon, 42, of Ramseur, died Wednesday, (10-13-2010) at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday (10-16-2010) at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, with Pastor Todd Brown and Pastor Michael Thames officiating. Masonic funeral rites will be given. Burial followed in the church cemetery
A graduate of Eastern Randolph High School and Central Carolina Community College, he was employed at WBFJ in Winston-Salem. He was an active member of Holly Spring Friends Meeting, where he was a Sunday School teacher, sound technician, member of the Quaker Men, Past Clerk of Monthly Meeting and Past Clerk and current member of Ministry and Council. He was a member and officer of the Marietta Masonic Lodge #444 of Ramseur.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer York Trogdon; daughters, Hannah Trogdon, Grace Trogdon; son, Samuel Trogdon, of the home; father, Steve Trogdon of Ramseur; and mother, Dana Arrington of Bonlee.

ARTHUR LEE “BOOT” GOLDSTON
Mr. Arthur Lee “Boot” Goldston, 74, of Pittsboro died Thursday (10-14-2010) at Laurels of Chatham.
Funeral services were held at Knotts Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsboro at 3 p.m., Monday (10-18-2010) with Rev. Charles Chalmers officiating. Burial followed in Pittsboro Community Cemetery.
Survivors include four step-children, Mary Norman of Moncure, Audrey Patterson of Durham, Lester Norman, Joshua Norman, both of Elizabethtown; sster, Rozelle
D. Goldston of Pittsboro; brothers, Robert E. Alston of Pittsboro and Christopher Headen of Siler City.
VATIE RUTH SILER
Vatie Ruth Siler, 78, of Siler City died Saturday (10-16-2010) at Hospice of the Meadowlands.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (10-20-2010) at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity United Holy Church with Rev. Samuel B. Obie officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Siler was a native of Chatham County, a member of Holy Trinity Church where she was a former president of the usher board and the missionary department and a member of the mothers board, kitchen committee, floral committee and the senior choir. She was retired from Kellwood Corporation. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Siler.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. David Siler; sons, Steve Siler, Tony Siler, Kenny Siler, all of Siler City, Jerry Siler of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Annie Christopher, Gwen Horton, both of Staley, Ann Jones of Greensboro, Alicia Williams of High Point, Reba Kennedy of Greensboro, Alicia Williams of High Point, Reba Kennedy of Greensboro; sister, Marie McClain, Pauline Rodgers, both of Siler City; brothers, Marcellus Rodgers of Siler City, Roland Rodgers of Snow Camp; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
ELIZABETH “LIB” WAY THOMAS
Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Way Thomas of Tom Stevens Road, Siler City died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Care View Rest Home, Snow Camp.
Mrs. Thomas was a native of Randolph County, a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and retired from Marley's Dry Cleaning as a presser. Lib was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Thomas; a son, Scott Thomas; her parents, Clifford and Gladys York Way; and brother. W. C. Way.
She is survived by a brother, Albert Way and wife, Myra of Liberty; sister, Helen Ruth Frye of Liberty; daughters, Pat Phillips and husband, Lewis of Siler City, Ann Thomas of Clearwater, FL; daughter-in-law, Nancy Thomas of Siler City; granddaughters, Emily Belcher of Raleigh, Ashley Philyaw of Snow Hill; great-granddaughters, Caroline and Meredith Philyaw; Addison and Kenley Belcher; sister-in-law, Roxa Way; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Brenda Summers.
A graveside service was held Friday, October 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Rev. Howard Spray officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

CHARLIE CHAPIN ELLINGTON, JR.
Charlie Chapin Ellington, Jr., 69, of 215 Isaac Drive, Siler City, died Thursday, October 14, 2010. Mr. Ellington was born November 4, 1940, the son of Charlie Chapin and Lois Gilliland Ellington, Sr.
Mr. Ellington was a native of Chatham County, a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church and a retired route salesman with Lance. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gospel music. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Keck Ellington, of the home; one son, Terry Ellington and wife, Cindy of Siler City; one daughter, Tammy Ellington of Raleigh; grandson, Isaac Ellington of Raleigh; and one sister, Pat Lowe and husband, Wayne of Siler City.
The family received friends Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, other times at the family home.
The funeral was held Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, Siler City with Rev. Bob Way officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

REBECCA REYNOLDS TILLEY
Randleman – Rebecca Reynolds Tilley, 83, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Tilley was a native of Guilford County and retired from Randleman Lumber Company in Randleman, as secretary/bookkeeper.
Rebecca was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her son, Edward L. Tilley.
She is survived by her husband, W. Clifford Tilley of the home; daughter, Lynne Tilley Marley and husband Reid of Siler City; granddaughter, Rita René Marley-McKenzie and husband, Shawn of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Makani McKenzie.
The family received friends Friday, October 8, 2010 at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman. A graveside service followed at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with Rev. Bernie Dougherty officiating.
ARTIS LEE WILSON
Mr. Artis Lee Wilson, 56, of Pittsboro died Sunday (10-03-2010) at his residence.
Funeral services were held Thursday (10-07-2010) at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Moncure.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Wilson; son, Thomas Wilson; daughter, Bianca, both of the home; brother, James Peoples of Bear Creek; and sister, Florence Cummings.
SHELDON LEON BROOKS
Mr. Sheldon Leon (Rock) Brooks, 53, of Pittsboro died Sunday (10-03-2010) at his home.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday (10-08-2010) at Staunton Memorial CME Church, with burial following at Pittsboro Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks, the son of Sheldon Daniel Brooks and Pauline McKinney Brooks was born April 8, 1957 in Chatham County. He received his education at Northwood High School, and attended Job Corp to become a mechanic.
Survivors include his mother, Pauline McKinney Brooks of Pittsboro; daughters, Christy Wagner of Pittsboro, Ashley Brooks of Goldston; sisters, Marie Brooks of Pittsboro, Jennifer Tucker of Carrboro; brothers, James Brooks, Earl Brooks, both of Pittsboro; grandmothers, Ella McKinney of Pittsboro; and three grandsons.
CLARA MAE CANADA
Clara Mae Canada, 85, of Siler City died Friday (10-08-2010).
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday (10-11-2010) at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Watkins and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Canada was a native of Chatham County, the daughter of the late William and Lula Mae Chasson Eubanks. A homemaker, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Canada.
Survivors include her son, Robert “Buck” Canada of Silk Hope; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

VIRGINIA LUCILLE THOMPSON
Ms. Virginia Lucille Thompson, 88, of Pittsboro died Tuesday, (10-05-2010) at her home.
Funeral services were held Saturday (10-09-2010) at 4 p.m. at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Kenneth M. Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Ms. Thompson was a member of Mitchell Chapel ZME Zion Church where she was a member of the White Wings Choir and the usher board. She was also a member of the Home Extension Club of Mitchell Chapel.
Survivors include children, Raymond Alston, Ada M. Alston, both of Pittsboro, Jean Headen, Albert Alston, both of Siler City, Steven Alston of Greensboro, Diena T. Burton of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Catherine Alston of Pittsboro; 14 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
JUSTO RABASTO MACOROL
Mr. Justo Rabasto Macorol of Chapel Hill died Thursday (10-07-2010) at Duke Home Care Hospice in Hillsborough.
Funeral services were held Sunday (10-10-2010) at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness of Raleigh.
CODY RASHAN HARRIS
Mr. Cody Rashan Harris, 17, of Pittsboro died Monday (10-04-2010) at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday (10-08-2010) at Alston Chapel United Holy Church with Elder Jerry W. Powell officiaitng. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Harris was a student at Sage Academy in Siler City.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. Keith and Renee Boon of Pittsboro; father, Mr. Michael P. Taylor of Chapel Hill; sister, Ke’Shauna DeMiracle Boon of the home; brothers, Michael P. Taylor, Jr. of Chapel Hill, Alex S. Taylor of Richmond, VA; grandmothers, Ms. Emma Farrington of Pittsboro and Ms. Lola Merritt of Chapel Hill.
MRS. EMMA LOWE KELLER
Mrs. Emma Lowe Keller, 90, of Siler City, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Chatham Hospital.
Emma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she was a wonderful cook. She was a lifelong member of Rocky River Friends Meeting. After retirement she loved working on the farm with Eugene.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 8, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Rocky River Friends Meeting with David Hobson and Cafer Marley officiating. Burial followed in the meeting cemetery. The family received friends on Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Keller was the daughter of the late Roy and Ella Siler Lowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Issac Eugene Keller; sister, Mary Keller; and four brothers, Dewey, Lester, Samuel, and Willie Lowe.
Surviving are her two sons, Talmage Blake Keller (Jo), Dalton Lee Keller of Siler City; and two grandchildren, Crystal and Dustin.
The family would like to thank the staff of Siler City Care and Rehabilitation for the way that they cared for Emma.
