FRANCES MANN LINDLEY

Frances Mann Lindley, 81, of Siler City died Thursday, (04-09-09) at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

The funeral was held Saturday, (04-11-09) at 11 a.m. at Loves Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Boyd and Rev. J. R. Bouldin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lindley was the daughter of James Moody and Julia Haith Mann. She was a native of Alamance County, a retired homemaker and a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Lindley was preceded in death by two brothers, J.O. Mann, Julius Mann and one sister, Fay Moore.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Lindley of the home; sons, Ronnie Lindley of Snow Camp, Jerry Lindley of Bear Creek, Larry Lindley of Bynum, Barry Lindley of Staley, Russell Lindley of Siler City, and ten grandchildren.

CLADIE P. TREECE

Cladie Phillips Treece, 96, of Ramseur, died Tuesday (04-07-09) at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday (04-09-09) at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kevin Stumbo officiating. Burial followed in Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.

Mrs. Treece was a native of Chatham County, a member of Ramseur Wesleyan Church, and retired from Sapona Mfg. of Cedar Falls.

Survivors include daughter, Helen M. Powell of Asheboro; sister, Cleo Dobbins of Ramseur; brothers, Obie Phillips of High Point, Harold Phillips of Asheboro; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

RAY DASH

Raymond H. “Ray” Dash, 48, died Wednesday, (04-08-09) at his home in Pittsboro.

Services of remembrance were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, (04-14-09) at Evergreen United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jeff Nash and Rev. Tamsey Hill officiating.

Mr. Dash was born in Bryson City, the son of Raymond H. Dash, Sr. and Pat Pruitt Dash. He was a graduate of Hunter College, a part of the City University of New York, and received his Masters Degree in English from the University of Michigan. He attended Evergreen United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Karen Z. Dash, of the home; son Zane Star Dash of the home; his parents, Ray and Pat Dash of New York City, NY; and his brother Sean Dash of Los Angeles, CA.

STEVE CLARK PHILLIPS

Steve Clark Phillips, Sr., 61, of Siler City, died Saturday, (04-11-09) at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City. He was the son of Bob P. and Selma Louise Clark Phillips.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday (04-14-09) at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating.
Mr. Phillips was a native of Chatham County, and worked for Tuttle Livestock Company, after working for Horney Brothers Livestock Company and Smithfield Packing.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Lewis Phillips of Siler City; one son, Steve C. Phillips, Jr. of Siler City; father and stepmother Bob P. and Marie Phillips; sister, Jean P. Griffin of Siler City; brother, Ronnie Phillips of Bear Creek; and three grandchildren.

WILLIAM “HENRY” BROWN

William “Henry” Brown, 69, of 5044 Lewis Brown Road, Bennett, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Mark Strickland, Rev. Chris Wood, and Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brown was a Randolph County native, attended Bennett High School, and retired from Ramtex in Ramseur after 47 years of service. He was an avid gardener, loved people and the outdoors. He also attended Saving Grace Baptist Church in Coleridge.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Marley Brown of the home; sisters, Lucille Brown and husband Harris, Peggy Hammer and husband Harold, all of Asheboro; brother, Garland Brown and wife Mary of Bennett; sisters-in-law, Frances Brown and Pearl Brown, both of Bennett.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Nannie Coble Brown and brothers, John Thomas and Willis Rufus Brown.

Visitation was held Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett.

Memorials may be directed to Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund, 5946 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Bennett, N.C. 27208.

MARILYN C. GUIDO
5-25-31 to 3-20-09

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Soccer Grandma to Chatham Blaze.

Survived by her children: Anthony, Jr., Gary, Sr., Karen Straub, Glen, their spouses; Kathy, Joanna, Robert Straub, Jessica; grandchildren, Anthony III, Colleen, Dave King, Jessica DeMaio, Kevin, Gary, Jr., Tommy, Sarah, Aubrey, Chris, Erik, Nicole, Toni, and great-granddaughter, Elora DeMaio.

Mom was laid to rest beside her beloved Tony on 3-27-09 in Toms River, NJ.

DOROTHY BROWN MILLER

Mrs. Dorothy Brown Miller, 100, of Pittsboro Christian Village died Tuesday (03-31-09) at Pittsboro Christian Village.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, (04-03-09) in the Auditorium of Pittsboro Christian Village with Mr. James Clark presiding. Interment followed in Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City.

Mrs. Miller was born in Grand Island, NE, the daughter of Herb Brown and Susie Luberg Hubbard Brown. She taught school for 31 years in Sanford and Pittsboro, and was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse L. Brown.

Surviving are a step-son, Jack Miller of Grand Island NE; step-daughters, Mary Deitrich of Hastings, NE, Betty Hill of Grand Island, NE, and Phyllis Newman of Pensacola, FL.

Memorials may be directed to the Pittsboro Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 696, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

FRANCES BARLETT HARRIS

Frances Bartlett Harris, 83, of Pittsboro died Friday (04-03-09) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

Memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (04-07-09) at Smith Funeral Home in Moncure with Rev. Garland E. Smith officiating. Internment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Greenville.

Mrs. Harris was a native of Queen Ann’s County, Maryland, the daughter of the late Frances Asbury Barlett and Madeline Harris Barlett. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Betty Rader.

Survivors include a son, Richard E. Harris, Jr. of Pittsboro; sister, Nellie Barlett Nones of Centerville, MD; and one grandchild.

GRACE WINEMILLER CHAMBERS

Mrs. Grace Winemiller Chambers, 94, died at her home at Pittsboro Christian Village on Sunday, (04-05-09). Born in Harrisburg, PA, she was a daughter of Joseph and Bertha Shoop Winemiller. Mrs. Chambers was a retired teacher, and the widow of Oliver Fulton Chambers. She was a member of Pittsboro Bible Assembly.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (04-07-09) in the Auditorium of Pittsboro Christian Village, with Mr. Gerald Baker presiding. Interment followed in Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City.

Memorials may be made to the Benevolence Fund of Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

THOMAS MICHAEL GUGLIELMO

Thomas Michael Guglielmo, 88, of Siler City died Monday, (04-06-09) at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.

The memorial service will be Monday (04-13-09), at 10 a.m. at St. Julia Catholic Parish, with Father Pedro De Oliveira officiating. Inurnment will follow in Chatham Memorial Park.

Mr. Guglielmo was the son of Thomasisno and Mary Lumbardo Guglielmo. He was a native of Dutchess County, New York, a retired construction worker and a member of St. Julia's Catholic Parrish. He was a veteran of WWII. He had been a meat cutter and operated the Depot Restaurant for five years. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Decker Guglielmo.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra W. Errico, Nancy Vaughn, both of Siler City; son, Daniel Recchia of Siler City; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

GEORGE FREDERICK LUTTERLOH

Mr. George Frederick Lutterloh, 62, of Durham, died Wednesday (04-01-09) at his daughter’s home.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (04-11-09) at Corinth AME Zion Church, Siler City.

Survivors include daughters, Donna, Chris; sisters, Sylvia, Marsha, Deadra, Lynnette; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.

JOAN CAROL BROWER

Joan Carol Brower, 55, of Siler City dies Sunday (03-29-09) at her residence.

Funeral services were held Wednesday (04-01-09) at Glover UCC in Bennett with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Brower attended Chatham High School, Central Carolina Community College and worked for Medcost Insurance Company. She was a member of Holy Temple Church of Deliverance.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Taylor of Goldston; son, Anthony; daughter, Brandi Taylor of Greensboro; mother, Lucille Brower of Bennett; brother, George Chalmers of Bennett; and two grandchildren.

RICHARD BENTON WHITTINGTON, SR.

Richard Benton Whittington, Sr., 73, of Pittsboro died Friday (04-03-09) at the VA Hospital in Durham.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Monday (04-06-09) at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Graham.

Mr. Whittington was preceded in death by his wife, Hane Shaw Whittington.

Survivors include children, David Whittington of the home, Noami Whittington of Pittsboro, Lori Sapp of Mebane, Richard Whittington, Jr. of East Bend, Robin Lynch of Burlington, Tracy Sult of High Point; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
