Jane Ballard Adair, 57, of Knightdale, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Rex Healthcare. Memorial service was Saturday, April 2, at Hope Lutheran Church, Wake Forest.
She was born Sept. 3, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of the late Ray Ballard and Mary Dowd Ballard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Ray Ballard; and a sister, Rosemary Bingham.

William Donald Murray
William Donald “Don” Murray, 64, of Raleigh, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Rex Healthcare after months of declining health. funeral service was Sunday, April 3, at L. Harold Poole funeral service chapel, Knightdale. Entombment was at Raleigh Memorial Park.
He was born in Wilson County May 15, 1940, son of the late William Doyette Murray Sr. and Tempie Lindsey Murray. A self-employed entrepreneur, he began his career at the age of 9 working for Parker’s Barbecue in Wilson until the age of 33. He left Wilson and moved to Raleigh in 1973 where he formed a partnership and opened Don Murray’s Barbecue on Capital Boulevard. Soon he decided to strike out on his own, dissolving the partnership, and, in August 1979, he opened Barbecue Lodge Inc. in Mini City on Capital Boulevard. His business thrived and he soon had restaurants around North Carolina. In addition to the restaurant business, he decided to venture into farming. Never willing to rest, he purchased farms and formed Murray Swine Enterprises. With the farm business up and running, he decided to begin a career in real estate, forming Don Murray Realty. At this time he began purchasing property throughout eastern North Carolina. After a successful career in business, in 1998 his health began to decline therefore forcing him into retirement in 2002. He was a member of the North Carolina Real Estate Board, North Carolina Board of Auctioneers, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S.J., Amran Shriners and Millbrook Masonic Lodge No. 97. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William D. “Bill” Murray Jr., Wayne M. Murray, Waylon Murray and Doyette Murray Jr.; and sister, Tempie Jean Murray.
Surviving: wife, Juanita Shavers “Nita” Murray; sons, Michael D. Murray and wife Lynne D. of Wendell, Steven G. Murray and wife Kim B. of Wendell, Ronald G. Murray and wife Patricia O. of Wilson; grandchildren, Tara Elizabeth Murray, Lyndsay Nicole Murray, Donald Blake Murray, Steven Tyler Murray, Brittany Jordan Murray, Ashley Brooke Murray; nieces, Allison and Kathryn; nephew, Randy; four great-nephews.

Hubert Berry Bunn
Hubert Berry Bunn, 84, of Knightdale, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. funeral service was Thursday, March 31, at New Sandy Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Bailey. Burial was at Bailey Town Cemetery.
He was born in Wilson County Sept. 20, 1920, son of the late Willie Francis Bunn and Bethania Wilson Bunn. He retired with 21 years of service as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a member of New Sandy Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Bailey.
Surviving: wife, Laura Bryant Bunn; children, Agnes B. Baker and husband Maylon of Knightdale, Kenneth B. Bunn and wife Belinda of Wilson, Joanna B. Mustian and husband Rick of Wendell; grandchildren, Steven Baker, Tim Baker, Amy Evans, Jenny Sabella, Chris Watson; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Rachel Dozier Kimball
Rachel Dozier Kimball, 84, formerly of Zebulon, died early Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the home of Robert and Carolynn Kimball of Knightdale. funeral service was Monday, April 4, at Wakefield Central Baptist Church, Zebulon. Burial was at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
She was born Nov. 8, 1920, in South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Kimball Sr., formerly of Zebulon. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers and one sister.
Surviving: son, Robert Lee Kimball Jr. and wife Carolynn of Knightdale; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Kimball of Greensboro; grandchildren, Frances Anne Kimball, Robert Lee Kimball III and David Knott Kimball, all of the home.

John Paul Dean, 61, of Wendell, died suddenly Thursday, March 31, 2005. funeral service was Monday, April 4, at Strickland Funeral Home chapel. Entombment was in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
He was born February 22, 1944, in Wake County, son of the late Annie Taylor and William Moses Dean. He retired from Champion Products. He was a former member of the Wendell Lions Club and helped start the Mighty Mites football team.
Surviving: wife, Goldie Wood Dean; sons, John W. "Billy" Dean (Jessie) of Havelock, Carl Thomas "Tommy" Dean of Clayton, Brian Creech (Kathy) of Zebulon, Michael Creech (Kim) of Wendell, Mark Creech (Tracy) of Middlesex; brother, Graham Dean and wife Jean of Wendell; 13 grandchildren.

Mary J. Pearce
Mary Johnson Pearce, 83, of the Brian Center in Clayton, formerly of Wendell, died Sunday morning, April 3, 2005, at WakeMed. funeral service was Tuesday, April 5, at Strickland Funeral Home chapel, Wendell. Burial was at Clyde's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.
She was born February 18, 1922, daughter of the late Jessie John and Annie Bass Johnson. She was a retired seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Pearce; son, Tommy Pearce; and grandson, Gary Lawrence Pearce.
Surviving: daughters, Peggy P. Lee of Clayton, Linda P. Bishop of Clayton, Shirley P. Corbett of Zebulon; sisters, Ruth Johnson of Wendell, Jessie Mae Pearce of Wendell, Margie Finch of Garner; brother, Josh Johnson of Smithfield; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Clyde L.C. Finch
: Clyde Lee Coolidge Finch, 80, formerly of Garner, died Friday, April 1, 2005. funeral service was Monday, April 4, at First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh. Burial was at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
He was a retired accountant with the state of North Carolina and a native of Nash County. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh and the Tom Albright Sunday School Class, and sang in the chancel choir. He was a member of the Garner Lions Club with 28 years of perfect attendance, was past president, past district governor of Lions District 31-G, and held several statewide chairman and committee memberships. A U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War, he played the clarinet in the U.S. Army Band and sang in a choral group. He was also a member of the Raleigh Oratorical Society for more than 25 years. He had been a resident of Lawndale Manor for the past three years.
Surviving: wife of 52 years, Minnie Bullock Finch; daughter, Judy Finch Ide and husband Denny of Wendell; son, Hershel Lee Finch and wife Charlene of Front Royal, Va.; sister, Nancy Lamm of Wilson; brother, James Finch and wife Evelyn of Middlesex; grandchildren, Donovan Finch and financee Jessica Kidd, Jessica Ide, Denny J. Ide Jr.
