ANGIER — Ruby Dophied Holland, 73, of 76 Shorty Dr. died Tuesday surrounded by her family. A native of Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Perry Culwell and Addie Mae Wallace Culwell. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Kennebec Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving: daughters, Jan M. Carrier and Ronda G. Wester and her husband, Sammy, all of Angier; sons, Randy Dophied and his wife, Debbie of Angier; Jerry Dophied and his wife, Diana of Rockwell, TX; Darrell Wayne Holland and his wife, Tammy of Quinlan, TX; John Carl Holland and his wife, Shirley of Vian, OK; sister, Lee Ivey of Angier; brother, Ray Culwell of Fritch, TX; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James D. “Red” Holland in 2002, three sisters and three brothers. The family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home 7:00 – 9:00 PM Friday and other times at the home of Ronda and Sammy Wester, 317 Benton Place Dr., Angier.

RALEIGH — Fannie Mae Johnson, 89, of 10808 Ten Ten Road, died Friday. funeral service will be 3:00 PM Monday at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. RALEIGH – James Doub “Crow” Allen, 81, of 1050-103 Washington Street, a retired employee of 43 years with Norfolk-Southern Railroad, died Friday. He also worked at the Harris Teeter in Cameron Village. Crow was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grand father. funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Monday at Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park with Masonic Graveside Rites. Mr. Marvin Jerrell Black, 73, of Raleigh died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his home. Mr. Black was a native of Copiah County, Mississippi and was the son of the late Marvin and Wilma Taylor Black. Following graduation from high school in Mississippi, Mr. Black served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer First Class during the Korean War. After serving his country, he returned to continue his career at the Meteor Newspaper in Crystal Springs, MS. He was a founding member of Wedding Photographers International and was retired from NCSU where he was the supervisor of the University Press Department. He was an active church and community leader and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh. He was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Anna Black. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Helen Steele Black of the home; his three children, daughter, Linda B. Smith and her husband, Sherman E. Smith of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Sara Martha Black of Raleigh; son, John H. Black also of Raleigh; a sister, Betty Quick and her husband, Jack O’Neal Quick of Florence, MS; two great-aunts, Beatrice Sullivan of Crystal Springs, MS and Edna Earl Otis of Vicksburg, MS; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A visitation will be held from 7-8:30 pm Friday, October 20, 2006 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., in the Mordecai Historic District of Raleigh, 832-8225. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 21, 2006 in the chapel at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh. Rev. Dr. David Hailey will be officiating. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park with military honors. Surviving: sons, Larry Wester and his wife, Brenda of Fuquay-Varina; Jerry Wester and his wife, Emily of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Mable Cockerham of Dobson, NC; grandchildren, Candice Dix, Jonathan Wester, Scott Wester, and great-grandson, Josh Wester. Mrs. Dean was predeceased by her husbands, Ivory Wester and Jess Dean. Dorothy Ann Paz, 82, of Garner, NC died Wednesday, October 17, 2006 at Rex Hospital. Dorothy was a native of New Britain, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late John and Ann Paz. She resided in North Carolina since 1990. Dorothy was a loving and devoted mother; she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Paz who at age 21 was killed in combat in the European Theater during WWII; and her sister, F. Donna Partin of Las Vegas, NV. Dorothy is survived by her son, John Henry Paz and his wife, Julie of Garner; and her two nieces, Shari and Debbie of Las Vegas, NV. Arrangements by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Walter Edgar Bond and Annie Mae Tutor Bond. He was a veteran of the Air Force. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial to follow at the Kennebec Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving, wife, Linda Ivey Bond, sons, Jeremy Bond of Angier; Chris Bond and his wife, Kim of Angier; and step-sister, Edna Earle Tate of Tennessee. Edwin Earnhardt Flythe of Raleigh died Thursday, May 8, 2008. The son of the late, Milton and Mae Flythe, was born
in Conway, NC on August 24, 1913. Mr. Flythe graduated from Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC and NC State University for post-graduate work. During WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Army in the Medical Corps. In 1946, returned to Raleigh and opened his business, Flythe Sales and Service, later changed to Flythe Cyclery of Raleigh. The business was first located on Salisbury Street, and then moved to its current location on Peace St. He was a member of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church and various other organizations; Raleigh Jaycees, The Raleigh Host Lions Club, The Stag Club, Milburnie Fishing Club, the Sphinx Club and Carolina Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Lewis Flythe of Raleigh; one son, Edwin E. Flythe, Jr. (Skip) and his wife, Agnes Parker Flythe (Tootie) of Raleigh; two adopted daughters, Brenda Gregory and Linda Flythe; two grandsons, Edwin Earnhardt Flythe, III (Winn) of Raleigh and Todd Parker Flythe of Ashburn, VA; two siblings, Jane Liverman of Maryland and Matt Futrell Flythe of Florida. Others surviving are brothers-in-law, Walter F. Lewis of Surf City, NC and Wade C. Lewis, Jr. and wife, Helen Morton Lewis (Ritche) of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the chapel of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 12, 2008. A private interment in the church columbarium will be held for family members prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the 2 pm service, in the church fellowship hall. RALEIGH…Edward Webster Warsaw, 86, passed away at his home on May 8, 2008. Born on May 23, 1921 in Burlington, Vermont, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Warsaw, he resided in North Carolina for the past twenty-four years. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road in Raleigh. Ed is survived by his wife, Jane Warsaw; daughter Carol Revenaugh of Kansas City, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Karen Warsaw of Roanoke, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and David Stump of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren Tom and Judy Revenaugh, Renee and Joe Lacik, Michelle and Jeff Fisher, Mandy and Nathan Harrison, and five great-grandchildren. Ed received a bachelor degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After which, he was the founder and president of DataCare, a healthcare patient electronic information system. Ed was a fisherman, who loved anytime he could spend on or near the ocean. He also enjoyed golfing and cheering for his beloved Chicago Cubs. An avid reader and political enthusiast, Ed never shied away from contributing to a debate on most any subject matter. Mr. Warsaw’s family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Magnolia Glen, Tender Loving Care and Hospice Services, Raleigh Nephrology Associates and Doctors Making Housecalls for their compassionate care in his final days.

Janette Wall Cable, 74, of Raleigh died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at City of Oaks Health and Rehab. Jan was a native of Guilford County and the daughter of the late, Vincent A. Wall and Irene Tuttle Wall. She was a graduate of Women’s College of Greensboro (UNC-G ) in 1956. In February of 1957, Jan married her 8th grade sweetheart, William Charles “Bill“ Cable. They moved to Raleigh in 1970, where they raised their family. She worked for the Wake County Public School System for over 20 years, and was the co-founder and vice president of Cable’s Frame House in Raleigh. Jan was beloved and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will also be missed by her many friends at Ocean Isle Beach, where she and Bill had a vacation home for many years. Jan was an amazing homemaker, cook and talented seamstress. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Cable in 2003; and her brother, Jesse and sister, Luanne. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Bill Cable of Raleigh; daughter, Susan Cable Ross and her husband, Willard of Raleigh; her son, Scott Cable and his wife, Annette of Clayton; three grandchildren, Hannah Ross a student at Clemson University; and Lucas and Jake Cable of Clayton; her brother, Joe Wall of Cincinnati, OH; her sister, Nancy Stanley of Graham, NC and her devoted friend and sister- in - Christ, Selma Holden of Raleigh. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd, located in the Mordecai neighborhood of Raleigh. The family will receive at the funeral home from 3-4pm, following the service. The family would like to thank her caregivers at Elmcroft, Duke Hospice and City of Oaks for their devoted and loving care.
