Brison is survived by his parents, Brian Andrew Lamm and Meghan Bissette Lamm of Sims; his grandparents, Grayson and JoAnn Lamm of Wilson and Billy and Vivian Bissette of Bailey and his great-grandparents, Marie Lamm of Grifton and Ruth Stancil Whitley of Wilson.
Eloise Hunt Sutton
December 30, 1922 – July 7, 2015
Eloise Hunt Sutton, 92, of Lucama passed away Tuesday. Her memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Donnie Price will officiate.
Eloise is survived by her daughters, Alice Lee Pennington and husband, Carl of Elm City, Joan Faye King and husband, Terry of Maryland, and Cindy Gail Marcum and husband, Leonard of Lucama; her grandchildren, Greg Askew and wife, Robin, Benjamin King and fiancée, Rhonda Dail, Ken Moore and wife, Sheila, Christy Buchardt, David Sutton and wife, Ginger and Ragan Stubbs and husband, Dennis; her great-grandchildren, Garrett King, Madison King, Brad Askew, Justin Moore, Myranda Stubbs, Katelyn Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell and Josh Sutton, and her daughter-in-law, Annette Sutton of Elm City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hardy Sutton; her son, Bennie Arthur Sutton; her sister, Perry Lee Ellis and her brother, L.A. Hunt.
Margaret Rachel Barnes
September 28, 1927 – July 7, 2015
Margaret Rachel Barnes, 87, of Rocky Mount, formerly of Lucama, passed away Tuesday. A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery, 303 E North Street, Fremont.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Jennifer B. Boykin of Rocky Mount; her grandson, Ronnie Boykin of Wilson and her great-granddaughter, Kayla Boykin of Rocky Mount.

Margirene Ferrell Jones
October 2, 1927 – July 23, 2015
Margirene “Margie” Ferrell Jones, 87, of Lucama passed away peacefully Thursday surrounded by her loving family. A private graveside service will be conducted. The Rev. Walt Tyndall will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the residence.
Margie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed the simple things in life and her greatest love was her family. A woman of great courage, life nor death made her lose her faith. God gave her strength to face many adversities, peace, and joy in her final weeks.
Margie is survived by her daughters, Nell Boyette and husband, Charles of Knightdale, Dottie Hill and husband, Raymond of Douglas, Georgia, Betty Holcomb and husband, Ronald of Lucama, and Renee Barnes and husband, Scott of Wilson; her sons, Larry Bass of Wilson, Danny Bass of Smithfield, and Ronnie Bass of Wilson; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Pam Bass of Eureka; her sisters, Pauline Pope and husband, Billy of Lucama and Bet Taylor of Lucama, and her brother, Vann “Fuzzy” Ferrell and wife, Vonn of Lucama.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Pierpon Bass and her second husband, Paul Jones; her sons, Wayne Bass and Dennis Bass; her sister, Josephine Bryant, and her brothers, Vernon and Vance Ferrell.

Paul Green Boykin
April 28, 1934 – July 15, 2015
Paul Green “Nub” Boykin, 81, of Kenly passed away Wednesday. His memorial service will be held Saturday 2 – 4 p.m. at Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 8102 Hwy 42 North, Kenly in the fellowship hall.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home.
“Nub” is survived by his wife, Barbara Boykin of the home; his daughter, Paula Boykin of Greensboro; his sons, Paul Ransom Boykin and wife, Kathy of Florida and Jeffrey Scott Boykin and wife, Jacqui of Kenly, and his grandchildren, Harlee Boykin, Branson Boykin, Stephanie Boykin and Miranda Boykin Stamper.

Ronald C. Scott
September 19, 1947 – July 4, 2015
Ronald C. Scott, of Wilson, formerly of Fayetteville passed away Saturday. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 7 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Ronald was a loving husband of forty-seven years, father and granddaddy. He was born
and raised in Fayetteville. He was well respected in the auto business while living in Fayetteville and while living in Wilson he worked as the Program Director at the Tar River Mental Health Center in Rocky Mount.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Phyllis Scott of the home; his sons, Jeff Scott and wife, Karen of Wilson, and Bryan Scott and fiancée’, Shaunna Minor of Wilson, and her son, Blake, and his beloved grandson, Justin Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edith King Scott and his brother, James “Jamesy” Scott.

Woodrow Stancil
April 17, 1932 – July 8, 2015
Woodrow “Woody” Stancil, 83, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. His memorial service will be conducted Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Rev. Steve Strickland will officiate and speaker Candace Deans.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.
Woody served his country with honor and pride during the Korean War era with the 187th Airborne Regiment Combat team.
Woody is survived by his longtime companion and caregiver, Joanne Pugh of Wilson; his sons, Paul Michael Stancil and wife, Madonna of Maryland and Daniel Albert Stancil of Maryland; his granddaughters, Lauryn Stancil and Christina Stancil; his grandson, Kevin Stancil, and his hospice caregivers, Sharon Starke, Julie Watson and Joyce Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Decie Woods Stancil and his brother, Winchester Stancil.

Doris J. Best
Doris J. Best of Wilson, a devoted wife, mother, and educator departed August 7, 2015. She was born
to the late Eddie Lee and Annie Wynn Joyner of Wilson.
Doris was an educator in Cumberland, Nash and Wilson counties.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Romonia Kornegay-Lewis (Virgil); her sister, Donnie Freeman (Robert); her nieces, Debra Redden and Beverly Freeman (Shawn), and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Colonious Best.
A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, 414 Sunset Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
The public viewing will be 12 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
