Benson, NC: Mrs. Flonnie Mae Webb Lee, 88, of 2513 NC Hwy 242 North died at Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dunn Wednesday. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Friday at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Officiating will be the Revs. Glenn Fell and Jerry Hicks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lee was born September 27, 1919 to the late Paul & Emma Beasley Webb. She was predeceased in addition to her parents by her husband, Willis E. Lee and a son Royce Edward Lee. She was a farmer, Waitress, and an in home Caregiver. She was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Surviving: Daughter & Son-in-Law, Helen & Larry Holmes of Alton, VA; Son, Willis Bruce Lee of Four Oaks; Step-Daughters, Mildred Blackmon of Benson and Clelma Bachelder of Four Oaks; Step-Son, Junius Rudolph Lee of Four Oaks; Grandchildren, Gary Holmes, Joan Shepard, and Angel Phillips; Eleven Step-Grandchildren; Twenty-Three Step-Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Joan and Paul Shepard of 505 Hayes Rd. Four Oaks, NC.

Flowers are welcome; however memorials may be made to Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, P.O. Box 423, Benson, NC 27504.

Mrs. Josephine Jackson Raynor

November 13, 2007

Benson – Mrs. Josephine Jackson Raynor, 79, of 3685 Hannah Creek Road died Tuesday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel. Rev. Richard Whitman will officiate. Burial will follow in Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Raynor was born in Sampson County on August 24, 1928 to the late Linden & Ada Jackson. She was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Raynor, and several Brothers and Sisters. Mrs. Raynor was a member of Smyrna Original Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving include Husband, Herman Raynor; Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Danny & Kathy Raynor and Donnie & Kimberly Raynor, all of Benson; Brother, Rudolph Jackson of Erwin; Grandchildren, Ethan Raynor, Taylor Raynor, Courtney Raynor, Hayden Raynor, Kenny Raynor, and Amy Adams; and Great Grandchildren, Logan Adams, Austin Adams, and Jordan Adams.

The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday.

Mrs. Mary Edna Woodall Raynor

November 12, 2007

Benson, NC: Mrs. Mary Edna Woodall Raynor, age 92, of 11276 US 301 South, died Monday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Hannah’s Creek Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Ozzie Raynor and Rev. Steve Ruberg.

Mrs. Raynor was born September 6, 1915 in Johnston County to the late George Gideon & Nora Holly Woodall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Raynor, and a son, L. E. Raynor. Mrs. Raynor was a member of Barbour’s Chapel Church and was a waitress.

Surviving: Son & Daughter-in-Law, Danny & Judy Raynor of Benson; Sister, Almalene Lee of Clayton; Brother, G. G. Woodall of Benson; Grandchildren, Wendy Raynor of Benson and Daniel Raynor of Four Oaks, and Great Grandchild, Riley Raynor.

The family will receive friends 7:00PM to 9:00PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Danny & Judy Raynor, 11314B US 301 South, Benson.

Mrs. Mabel Adams Ennis

November 11, 2007

Angier – Mrs. Mabel Adams Ennis, 89, of Old Fairground Road died Sunday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday at Providence Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jim Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Providence Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Ennis was born in Harnett County on September 5, 1918 to the late Johnny L. & Florence Adams Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius Elbert Ennis. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the choir. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Mobile. Mrs. Ennis worked at Hudson Belk for many years and retired from the N. C. Department of Motor Vehicles.

Surviving include Daughter and Son-in-Law, Gay & Wayne Robinson of Pinehurst, Son & Daughter–in-Law, Ricky & Brenda Ennis of Angier; Granddaughters & Spouses, Renee & Christopher McGee of Benson, Amanda & Chad Ziady of Autryville; April Ennis Barefoot of Benson; and Tanya & Kevin Dillard of Holly Springs; Great Grandchildren, Kaitlin, Austin & Grayson Dillard and Dale & Dillon McGee.

The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6 to 8 PM Monday and other times at the home of Ricky and Brenda Ennis, 1171 Ennis Road, Angier, NC 27501.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church, 14664 NC Hwy 210, Angier, NC 27501.

Mrs. Christine McLamb Jernigan

November 9, 2007

Benson, NC: Mrs. Christine McLamb Jernigan, age 87, of 4988 NC Hwy 50 South, died Friday at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bobby Caudle. Burial will follow in the Banner Chapel Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Jernigan was born November 2, 1920 in Harnett County to the late George W. & Rossie Raynor McLamb. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her Parents and Husband, Laudius B. Jernigan, Sisters, Flonnie Thornton and Lula Young, Brothers, John William McLamb, Jason D. McLamb, Brack McLamb, and Jack McLamb.

Surviving: Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Joyce & Carlie Parker of Benson, Brenda McCabe of Four Oaks, Glenda & Tommy Clifton of Benson; Sister, Irene M Wood of Benson; Six Grandchildren, Carvis Parker, Tonya Lee, Donna Stewart, Wendy Byrd, Wanda McCabe and Andy Clifton; Five Great-Grandchildren, Carla Brooke Parker, J. T. Parker, Parker Stewart, Luke Clifton and Allison Stewart.

The family will receive friends 7:00PM to 9:00PM Sunday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.

Mr. Lelon Forest Mills, Jr.

November 9, 2007

Angier, NC: Mr. Lelon Forest Mills, Jr. age 64 of 42 Wiregrass Ct. died Friday at The Brian Center of Clayton. Graveside funeral service will be Sunday at 3:00PM at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Revs. Mike Courtney and Larry Jones will officiate.

Mr. Mills was born in Brunswick County on March 10, 1943 to the late Lelon, Sr. & Juanita Stevenson Mills. Mr. Mills was a retired Tobacco Warehouse Operator at Farmers Tobacco Warehouse in Smithfield and member of Providence Presbyterian Church. Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his son Doyle Mills.

Surviving are Wife: Teresa Spears Mills, Son: Billy Joe Mills of Clayton, Daughter Anita Mills Avery of Angier, One Granddaughter Victoria Avery, Sister Marilyn Johnson of Smithfield, and a Niece. Family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:30PM Sunday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.

Mrs. Josephine Forbes Turlington

November 4, 2007

Coats: Mrs. Josephine Forbes Turlington, age 99, of Coats died Sunday at Martinsville Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, VA. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Rev. Jesse Mooney will officiate. Burial will follow in Coats City Cemetery.

Mrs. Turlington was born in Avery County on May 8, 1908 to the late John Wesley and Rosa Burleson Forbes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Randall “Buck” Turlington and sons, Randall E. Turlington, Jr., and Tom E. Turlington. She attended Coats Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving are Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Sue Corbett of Decatur, AL, Rosa & Doug West of Martinsville, VA, and Bette & Tom Stephenson of Cornelius, NC; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Johnny & Emily Turlington of Newport News, VA; Sister, Thelma F. Hampton of Linville, NC; 11 Grandchildren; and 24 Great Grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats.

Mr. Stacy Glenn Moore

November 3, 2007

Smithfield, NC: Mr. Stacy Glenn Moore, age 69, of 311 West Wilson Street, retired owner and operator of Western Auto Store in Smithfield died Saturday. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Tuesday at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn Fell, Rev. Edward G. Dowd, and Mr. Jeff Morgan. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Moore was born July 15, 1938 in Johnston County to Pauline McLamb Moore of Benson and the late Marrish B. Moore. He was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church where he was on the trustee board and served in many other capacities. He also served as president of the Church Cemetery Association. Mr. Moore was on the Board of Directors at Camp Dixie for over thirty years where he served as secretary and treasurer. He served with the Benson National Guard, was a member of the Smithfield Masonic Lodge, earned his 32nd degree, and was a Shriner. After retiring from the Western Auto, Mr. Moore operated Stacy Moore Properties.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are Wife, Anne Morgan Moore; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Jaconna & Ruff Bailey of Garner; Son & Daughter-in-Law, Anthony & Renee Moore of Rocky Mount; Sister & Brother-in-Law, Ethelene & J. D. Hughes of Benson; Granddaughters, Jessica Bailey and Taylor Bailey; and Several Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:30PM to 9:00PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.

Mr. James Washington “J.W.” Parker

October 29, 2007

Benson: Mr. James Washington “J.W.” Parker, age 73, of 3450 Wood’s Crossroads Road died Monday at his residence. A memorial service will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel. Rev. Susan McCoskrey & Rev. Frank McCoskrey will officiate.

Mr. Parker was born in Johnston County on July 29, 1934 to the late Isaac & Leola Lee Parker. He was the general manager for Young’s Motor Company in Benson for 18 years.

Surviving are Brother, Wendell Parker of Benson; Several Nieces & Nephews; and Special Friends, Terry, Kathy, & Tyler Young of Benson.

Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret Sherrill Dupree

October 21, 2007

Goldsboro, NC: Mrs. Margaret Sherrill Dupree, age 65, of 403 Plantation Road peacefully ended her courageous battle with breast cancer on Sunday surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial service will be 6:00PM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Goldsboro. Dr. Glenn Phillips, Jr., will officiate.

Entombment will be 3:00PM Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson with Rev. Aubrey Williamson and Dr. Glenn Phillips, Jr., officiating.

Mrs. Dupree is survived by her amazing husband of 44 years, Thomas Larry Dupree; her mother, Gladys Parrish Sherrill of Benson; daughters, Tammy Dupree and Wendy D. George and husband, Bill, all of Angier; Grandchildren, Megan and Logan George; sister-in-law, Gail Spry; and brother-in-law, Don Dupree of Angier.

Mrs. Dupree was a graduate of Wilson School of Nursing. She had caring and compassionate qualities which made her a wonderful nurse. Those qualities carried through to every area of her life. She was truly a lovely woman in every way and she will be sorely missed by her family and numerous friends. Her legacy will live on, not only through her children and grandchildren, but through the many lives she touched.

Mrs. Dupree was predeceased by her father, Ransom Sherrill; and her mother & father-in-law, Alfred & Agnes Dupree.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1544, Smithfield, NC 27577, or First Baptist Church of Goldsboro, Habitat for Humanity Fund, 125 S. Ida Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at First Baptist Church of Goldsboro.
