Helen Mae Coy Green
(February 10, 1939 - September 30, 2011)

Helen Mae Coy Green, 72, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, in Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast of Concord, NC.

Heaven’s gates opened wide to receive its newest angel.

She was well loved and will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Green was born February 10, 1939 in Pennsylvania to the late Ralph Eugene Coy and Esther Lucille Wolfgang Coy.

Helen came into this world among five brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Griffin; and several brothers.

The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.

The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord.

At other times, the family will meet at her home.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James “Jim” Lewis Green; daughters, Tamrah Eichinger and husband, Greg, of Charlotte and Tracie Green of Black Mountain.

She worked away from the home in retail until she became Nana to Joshua Nix, Maegan Eichinger, Daniel Griffin, and Dillon Griffin.

She was an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Cabarrus County, 244 General Service Drive, Concord, NC 28025.

Linda Sue Knotts
(January 6, 1944 - October 4, 2011)

Linda Sue Knotts, age 67 of Albemarle, passed away on October 4, 2011 with her family by her side, following 6 years of declining health.

The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, October 6 from 6pm until 8pm.

At other times, the family will meet at her home.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 11am, officiated by Pastor Delane Burris.

Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Knotts was born in Stanly County on January 6, 1944, to the late Walter Louis Randall Hagans, Sr. and the late Julia Earls Hagans.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Randall (Randy) Lamont Knotts, of the home; daughter, Vicky C. Hall of High Point; sons, Terry Hall of Rockwell and Ronnie Hall of Millingport; stepson, Lamont Knotts of Oakboro; brother, Earl S. Hagans of Wilmington; sister, Betty Paige and husband Boyd of Albemarle; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Elizabeth Wilkinson
(January 16, 1932 - September 27, 2011)

Evelyn Elizabeth Yow Wilkinson, 79, of 396 Cameron Avenue NE Concord passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

She was born on January 16, 1932 in Cabarrus County to the late James Franklin and Lizzie Whitley Yow.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee "June" Wilkinson, Jr.

The family meeting place will be at the home of her son Johnny at 8510 Unity Church Road Kannapolis.

A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, September 29th from 6 until 8 PM.

A Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at Hartsell Funeral Concord Chapel on Friday, September 30th at 2 PM, with Chaplain Edward Scott officiating.

Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.

She is survived by: son, Johnny Monroe Wilkinson and wife Debbie of Kannapolis; daughter, Carolyn Sue Hatley of Concord; grandchildren, Carl Lee Hatley, Bryant Allen Hatley and Kelly Renee Hill all of Concord; great-grandson, Wesley Allen Hatley of Concord.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081, 10-Cents-A-Meal Fund thru The Presbytery of Charlotte 5700 Executive Center Drive, Suite 200 Charlotte, NC 28217, or to Boger’s Chapel United Methodist Church 1775 Flowes Store Road East Concord, NC 28025.

Judy Cagle Rowland
(May 13, 1941 - October 7, 2011)

Judy Ellen Cagle Rowland, 70, of 1703 Daniels St. Kannapolis, NC passed away October 7, 2011, at her home.

Mrs. Rowland was born on May 13, 1941 in Stanly County to the late Thomas Allen and Margaret Francis Burris Cagle.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Dedria Cagle and brother, Mickey Cagle.

She was an inspector at NGK and was a member of Landis Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM, Monday, October 10th at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.

The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2 PM, with Rev. Richard Pethel and Rev. Chris Pethel officiating.

Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Lane Odell Rowland of the home; children, Ronnie Rowland and wife Danette, Donnie Rowland and wife Cheryl, Ricky Rowland and wife Karen, Melisa Sapp, Angela Rinaldi and husband Frank, David Rowland and wife Denise; grandchildren, Brian, Kristi, Joshua, Jacob, Jill, Chelsea, Hannah, Hilary, Hali, Ricky; four great grandchildren; and sisters, Terry Misenheimer, Helen Bratton, Nancy Atkins and Tommy Efird.

Gloria Ruth Matthews
(February 27, 1927 - September 20, 2011)

Gloria Ruth Hutchins Matthews, 84, of 536 Gatsby Place NW Concord, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at The Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg, NC.

She was born on February 27, 1927 in Lakewood, New Jersey to the late David Earnest and Edythe Burdge Hutchins.

She was also preceded in death by a son Richard Byron Matthews.

She was a member of Woodfield United Methodist Church in Damascus, MD.

Mrs. Matthews graduated in 1944 from Lakewood High School. She worked for G. Clinton Griggs RE Insurance.

She married her husband William on December 25, 1947 after he returned from the war.

Mrs. Matthews was a member of Carasalgo Chapter #49 of The Eastern Star, Worthy Matron and District Deputy of The 16th District, Damascus Garden Club, Secretary, President, Flower Show chairperson.

She was a very involved and loving mother and grandmother.

A Memorial service will be held in Lakewood, NJ (Gloria’s hometown) at All Saints Episcopal Church, 213 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701-3316, (732)-367-0933 on October 19, 2011, at 2:30 p.m.

This will be an Eastern Star Service as well.

Following the service, her cremains will be taken to Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood for burial.

Family and friends are invited.

However, it is not expected that her loving friends or family who would have to travel long distances would attend.

She is survived by: husband, William Bradley Matthews, Sr. of Concord; son William Bradley Matthews, Jr. and wife Ramona of Concord; grandchildren, Richard, David, Brian, Karen, and Bradley III; sister, Elsie Mae Applegate and husband Willis of Manchester, NJ.

Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association 3800 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC 28215.
