Ethel G. Anderson

Ethel Anderson, 90, Dilworth, MN, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Ethel Gertrude Anderson was born January 13, 1915, at Brainerd, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann (Liners) Lyonais. She attended St. Francis Catholic grade school and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1932. She married Donald E. Anderson September 7, 1935, in Brainerd, MN. Donald and Ethel lived in Brainerd until 1943 when Donald transferred with Northern Pacific Railroad to Dilworth, MN. Donald died December 15, 1988.

Ethel enjoyed her garden, cooking, needlework, reading, and spending time with family. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and Christian Mothers. Ethel was an active volunteer with Churches United for the Homeless, Dorothy Day House and St. Vincent DePaul.

She is survived by one sister, Mardelle (John) Plein and sister-in-law Hilda Lee, both of Brainerd, MN; three sons, Roger (Betty), Park Rapids, MN, Thomas (JoAnn), Lakeville, MN, Stephen (Sandra), Moorhead, MN; five daughters, Roberta (Wally) Wahl, Fargo, ND, Janet Schroeder, Pelican Rapids, MN, Dianne (Arloe) Schock, Harwood, ND, Mary Jo (Don) Nicklay, Dilworth, Claudia Anderson, West Fargo, ND; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; brothers, Raymond and Arthur; sisters, Ruth, Phyllis and Veronica.

Visitation: Friday, December 30, 2005 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Elizabeth.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN.

Interment: St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery, Moorhead, MN.

Richard C. Anderson

Richard C. Anderson, 51, Mandan, ND, formerly of Bismarck and Fargo, ND, died Sunday, August 7, 2005, in Medcenter One, Bismarck.

Richard Charles Anderson was born November 30, 1953, in Fargo, to Harris and Bertha (Akrehavn) Anderson.

Richard was raised in Fargo where he attended school. Richard moved to Bismarck in the mid-1980s and worked for Pride Industries. He recently moved to Mandan.

Richard is survived by his mother, Bertha, Fargo; one sister, Joyce (Cris) Christensen, Malibu, CA; and three brothers, Paul Anderson, West Fargo, ND, Robert Anderson, Callaway, MN, and Mark (Lorie) Anderson, Bismarck.

Funeral: Thursday, August 11, 2005 – 2 PM in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Visitation: at the church one hour before the funeral.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.

Dorothy A. Larson

Dorothy A. Selstedt Larson, 92, Fargo, ND, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Bethany Homes in Fargo. Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 10:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN, with the Reverend Daniel Wagner officiating. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Sabin. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2005 from 6 – 8 PM at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, with a prayer service at 7 PM.

Dorothy was born September 23, 1912, west of Fargo in a farmstead on the bank of the Sheyenne River, the daughter of Inga (Hagen) and Alfred Selstedt. She attended country school in rural Fargo and high school in Fargo. On January 29, 1930, she married Marvin W. Larson. They lived in Fargo until 1957 when they lost their home in a tornado. In 1957, they moved to Sabin where Dorothy lived until she moved to Fargo in 1999.

Dorothy worked at Herbst Department Store and Sgutt’s in Fargo before her retirement in 1974. Dorothy loved gardening, needlework, reading, and crossword puzzles. She held her family dear and often remarked that she wouldn’t know what she would do without them.

She is survived by her children Gloria (Kenneth) Joos, Bella Vista, AR; Joan (Leo) Annis, West Fargo, ND; Larry (Darlene) Larson, Buffalo, WY; and Leola (Jack) Olson, Bismarck, ND; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Lillian Merrigan, brother, Arlo Selstedt, and daughter, Marylis Jones.

Memorials are preferred to the Sabin Trinity Lutheran Church Transportation Ministry

Larry P. Linson

Larry P. Linson, 49, Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, after a long illness.

Larry Paul Linson, son of William and Clara (Knudson) Linson, was born on October 19, 1955, in Rugby, ND. Larry grew up in Rolette, ND, and graduated from Rolette High School in 1973. On June 12, 1976, he married Patricia K. Anderson in Bottineau, ND. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 1978 as a registered pharmacist. He worked in several Fargo locations as a pharmacist until 1992 when he opened Linson Pharmacy.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; two children, Paul (Kristin) and granddaughter Anabelle, Fargo, and Jennifer (Mat) Finley, Bloomington, MN; his mother Clara, Rolette; his sister, Lucretia (Ray) Grudem, Minot, ND; two brothers William, Moorhead, MN, and Gary, Rolette; and nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, William Linson.

Larry endured nearly 33 years with Lupus. Despite his health struggles, he never complained. His love for the Lord and his family were unwavering. His godly spirit, generosity, and compassion affected the lives of many. Larry leaves a legacy in the hearts of all who knew him. A scholarship will be established to NDSU College of Pharmacy in Larry’s memory.

Visitation: Sunday, August 7, 2005, from 5-7 pm, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral Service: Monday, August 8, 2005, at 10:30am, in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead, followed by a lunch and time of fellowship.

Burial: Tuesday, August 9 at 11:00am at Rolette cemetery, Rolette, followed by a lunch and time of fellowship in Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette.

Jack I. Larsen

Jack I. Larsen, 72, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, in Innovis Health in Fargo.

Jack was born September 28, 1932, to Haakon and Myrtle Larsen of Moorhead, MN. He graduated from Moorhead High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Nuremburg, Germany. Following his discharge he returned to Moorhead and graduated from North Dakota State University.

On January 25, 1959, Jack married Bonnie Saeger. Jack and his father owned and operated Larsen Hardware in Moorhead until it closed in 1977. Jack was a realtor for 25 years with Wagner Realty, Moorhead, and Metro Realty, Fargo.

Jack was an avid reader, enjoyed golf, coffee with friends, and most of all, cross-country trips with his wife visiting family.

Jack is survived by his wife; a daughter, Dr. Lynn Estes, Rochester, MN; two sons, Paul (Juliann) Larsen, Seattle, WA, and Dr. Gregory Larsen, Pueblo, CO; and a sister, Mona Larsen, Red Lake Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral, at the church.

Funeral service: Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at 2 PM, First Congregational-United Church of Christ Moorhead.

Burial: Riverside cemetery, Moorhead.

Mary "Peggy" Kraft

Mary Margaret Kraft, known as Peggy, age 57, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Villa Maria in Fargo.

Mary Boe was born July 13, 1948, in Fargo. She grew up and received her education in Fargo-Moorhead. She received her bachelor’s degree from NDSU, and her master’s degree from MSUM. She worked with a number of local human service organizations and formed and operated her own company, WELL NET, in 1995.

Mary is survived by two sons, Danny Kraft, Thief River Falls, MN, and Brian (Jackie) Kraft, Jamestown, ND; a daughter, Eva Kraft, Fargo; her parents, Maureen and Pershing Boe, Titusville, FL; a sister, Sara Boe, Gainesville, FL; two brothers, Jerry (Sheryl) Boe, Wichita Falls, TX, and John (Sherry) Boe, Monterey, CA; and five grandchildren.

Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral, at the church.

Funeral service: Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at 1:30 PM, First Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.

Charlotte Johnson

Charlotte Mae Johnson went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 17, 2005.

Charlotte was born in Jamestown, ND, on September 24, 1938, to Bertis and Eva Johnson. She grew up in North Dakota and Minnesota. She attended grade school in Jamestown and Valley City, ND, and Moorhead, MN. Charlotte was raised by her sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Gustave Maas of Moorhead. She graduated from Moorhead High School, and then attended Trinity College of the Evangelical Free Church of America, in Chicago, IL, and Moorhead State College.

Charlotte served as a missionary in Venezuela for 23 years. Upon returning to the states she was a special education teacher in Brownsville, TX. She also worked for the Overseas Missions Dept. through the Northern Plains District.

Charlotte moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area in May of this year, leaving behind many dear friends in Brownsville. She lived with her nephew Ray and his family for a few months, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. She spent her last months at Elim Care Center in Fargo from where she went to be with her heavenly father.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law. She is survived by a niece, Hazel (Larry) Grimley, Moorhead; two nephews, Grant (Marsha) Maas, Charlotte, NC, and Ray (Debbie) Maas, Moorhead; 4 great-nieces: Michelle Curtis, Tawnia Donahue, Carrie Perry, and Elizabeth (Betsy) Maas; 3 great-nephews: Sean Donahue, Darin Maas, and Nathan Maas; a great-great-niece, Madalynne Maas; and 2 great-great-nephews.

Charlotte was a blessing to all who knew her.

VISITATION: Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, from 3 – 5 PM with a prayer service at 5 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at 1:30 PM Salem Evangelical Free Church, Fargo, ND

INTERMENT: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND

Kim M. Johnson

Kim Michelle (Susag) Johnson made a peaceful passage to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 after fighting breast cancer since June of 2004. Kim resided in Fargo for the last few years, and previously lived in Walhalla, ND.

Kim was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Jennie and Lester Tonder and Vernie and Syg Susag. She is survived by her three beautiful children, Max, (age 14), Sam, (age 12), and Tess, (age 11), currently residing in Fargo; her mother, Dianne Susag and her fiancé, Allen Zuther, of Anamoose, ND; her father, Mack, and stepmother, Pat Susag; her brother, Kerry Susag (Tammie), all of Harvey ND; sister, Jennifer Reinke (Bob) of Mandan, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many special friends.

Kim was a model mother, friend and servant of the Lord. Her kind and generous spirit will live on in the lives of her wonderful children and in the hearts of all those who loved her. Her positive outlook on life and her caring ways will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Visitation: Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in Korsmo Funeral Services, 409 8th St. So in Moorhead, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral service: Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at 10:30 AM in Fargo First Assembly of God, 3401 25th St. SW in Fargo, ND. Fellowship to follow in the church.

Interment planned for later this spring in Walhalla, ND.

Per Kim’s request the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Park Christian School in Moorhead, MN or Fargo First Assembly of God.
