Sarah E. Johnson

Sarah Edna Wollschlaeger was born November 25, 1916, to Fred and Ella (Coulter) Wollschlaeger, in Dawson, ND, where she grew up and received her education.

As a young woman, Sarah moved to Fargo, ND, and worked in the area. It was in Fargo that she met her loving husband-to-be, Chester Johnson. They married on October 18, 1936, in Moorhead, MN, and they made their home in Fargo. Sarah was a homemaker and devoted mother to their daughter, Sandra.

On April 30, 1977, Chester died and Sarah continued to make her home in Fargo. In February of 2004, Sarah became a resident of Bethany Homes where she died on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at the age of eighty-eight.

Sarah was an active member of her church, Bethel Evangelical Free. She enjoyed cooking, was a collector of many things and she was also very fond of the color red. Sarah adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sarah is survived by a daughter, Sandra Glenn, Cocoa, FL; three grandchildren, Sheila (Robert) Scherff, Cocoa, Kevin (Sharon) Shaw, Merritt Island, FL, and Jeri (Steven) Snyder, Orlando, FL; six great-grandchildren, Monica, Lauren, Ian, Jennifer, Kathleen, and Elizabeth; and two brothers, Lester (Eileen) Wollschlaeger, Montana, and Roy Wollschlaeger, Bismarck, ND. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Funeral Servic: Monday, January 31, 2005, 1 PM, Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo

Leslie J. Jenkins

Leslie J. Jenkins, 59, Fargo, ND, died Saturday, February 19, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Leslie James Jenkins was born June 14, 1945, in Wheaton, MN, to Bernard and Ellen (Yoder) Jenkins. Leslie was raised in the Wheaton and Detroit Lakes, MN, areas.

The family moved to the West Fargo, ND, area when he was a teenager and he graduated from West Fargo High School. Leslie served in the US Air Force from 1964 to 1968, and was stationed in Hawaii. He returned to the area following his discharge from the service.

Leslie was united in marriage to Linda Anderson, April 24, 1971, in Watertown, SD, and they made their home in Fargo. Les worked at Fargo Foundry and drove taxicab for a number of years. For the past twenty-eight years, Les worked for Holsum Bakery, now Pan-O-Gold Baking Company, Fargo.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Linda, Fargo; two daughters, Sheila and Sarah, both at home; a son, Daniel (Valerie) Jenkins, Fargo; two sisters, Ardys Jenkins, Vergas, MN, and Evelyn (Steven) Walters, Fargo; and a brother, Dennis Jenkins, Fargo.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Steven and Bruce; and two sisters, Mary and Kathryn.

Visitation: Tuesday, February 22, 2005; 5 – 7 PM Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead

Prayer Service: Tuesday, February 22, 2005; 7 PM Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead

Funeral: Wednesday, February 23, 2005 – 1 PM Faith Hope Love Church, Moorhead

Janice M. Hultman

Janice Marie Velure was born September 22, 1937, in Valley City, ND, to Arnold and Scilla (Boelter) Velure. She grew up on a farm near Hastings, ND. Janice was baptized, confirmed and attended school in Hastings.

In 1958, Janice graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing, Fargo, ND. She worked as a RN at St. Ansgar Hospital, Moorhead, MN, and St. John’s, and Dakota Heartland Hospitals, both Fargo, ND.

On October 3, 1959, Janice married Roger L. Hultman in Hastings, and they made their home in Fargo before settling in Moorhead. She retired from nursing in 1999.

Janice died on Sunday, August 7, 2005, in the MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, after a long illness of cancer. She was sixty-seven.

Janice is survived by her husband, Roger, Moorhead; two sons, Robert (Karen), Oak Hill, WV, and Paul (Cricket), Nixa, MO; two grandchildren, Tess and Brock, both of Nixa; two sisters, Dianne (Bert) Pedersen, Kathryn, ND, and Marjorie (Jim) Demaree, Montevideo, MN; a brother-in-law, Don Kimball, Prescott, WI; and many neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Carol Kimball.

Visitation: Wednesday from 6-8 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead

Funeral Service: Thursday, (August 11, 2005), at 10:30 AM, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead

Burial: Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Maurice I. Hansen

Maurice Ingvald Hansen was born January 12, 1936, to Ingvald and Martha (Fugleberg) Hansen, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Dilworth, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1954. Maurice enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1958 where he served for twenty-nine years.

On October 24, 1959, Maurice married Glenice Miller in Fergus Falls, MN. They made their home in Dilworth where they raised their two sons. Maurice worked as a truck driver for various businesses including NP Transport, Red Owl, Super Valu, and Transystems Inc., from which he retired in 1999. In 1997, after living for thirty-eight years in Dilworth, Maurice and Glenice moved to rural Glyndon, MN.

Maurice battled with cancer and was taken from his family and given to the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at the age of sixty-nine. He was receiving loving care in his home from the Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Maurice will be remembered for his love of old cars. He would spend many hours collecting and restoring them. He was a hard worker and a man of strong faith.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Glenice, Glyndon; two sons, Glen, Wolverton, MN, and Marty, Glyndon; a granddaughter, Molly Jean, Wolverton; a sister, Darlene (Ken) Loomes, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and their two sons, Brent and Corey Loomes. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN

Funeral Service: Friday, April 15, 2005, 1:30 PM, Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND

Marjorie H. Halleen

Marjorie H. Halleen, 77, Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo.

Marjorie Helen Halleen was born April 7, 1928, in Fargo, to Hector and Mabel (Anderson) Hansen. She was raised in Fargo and attended Fargo Central High School. Marjorie graduated from North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN.

Marjorie was united in marriage to Warren J. Halleen, in Minneapolis, on August 23, 1947. They lived in a number of communities in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota, as well as in the state of Washington.

They moved to Fargo in 1957 where Marjorie worked for over thirty years for Northwestern Bell Telephone. Warren died Friday, December 17, 2004, and Marjorie continued to make her home in Fargo.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Jonathan (Janet) Halleen, Savage, MN; one granddaughter, Emily; two brothers, Douglas (Bonnie) Hansen, and Wesley (Edith) Hansen, both Fargo; and three sisters, Mary Lou Cote, Fargo, LaVon (Douglas) Tongate, Olympia, WA, and Judith McCarty, Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and James; and a sister, Virginia.

Visitation: Thursday, August 18, 2005; 4 – 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Friday, August 19, 2005; 2 PM in First Assembly of God, Fargo, ND.

Burial: Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Dale C. Hahn

Dale Charles Hahn, 52, Hawley, MN, died unexpectedly Friday evening, July 8, 2005, at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND. Dale was born in Lisbon, ND, to Harold and Margaret (Mahrer) Hahn on August 8, 1952. He grew up in Leonard, ND, attending school K-12. He was active in all sports and school band programs. He participated in Boys State and was the recipient of the American Legion Award. He attended NDSU in Bottineau, ND, graduating with an Associate Degree in Forestry in 1972.

He worked at Gold Label Feeds in West Fargo, ND, for a year as a truck dispatcher. He then pursued his avocation and took a job as a sales clerk with Daveau Music Co. in Fargo. Schmitt Music of Minneapolis purchased Daveau in the spring of 1974. Dale continued with the company, eventually becoming musical instrument department store manager, until the time of his death.

Dale married Pamela Loe in March 1974 and they had four children. Their lives were filled with music, camping, fishing and lots of friends and family. They made their home in Moorhead, MN, until 1988, and then moved to a home in the country near Hawley, MN. Dale truly loved the country life and became an expert groomer of his 2 1/2 acres. He had many big bonfire parties for his friends and neighbors.

Dale was a gifted artist and expressed it through his woodcarvings. He was an avid golfer and won the Leonard Golf Club Championship four times during his life. He taught his wife and children this game and they golfed together frequently. He even made customized golf clubs for a time. He became addicted to fishing after moving to Hawley and went as often as he could-summer and winter. He served as a Boy Scout leader for many years with his boys. He spent many years actively participating at his church in music worship and other areas.

Dale was a self-taught guitarist playing acoustic and electric and continued learning to play many other instruments including the banjo, harmonica, dobro guitar, mandolin and bass guitar. He played the bass guitar in a band called The Good ‘Ol Boys. They played at many wedding dances and weekends at many small town events surrounding Fargo/Moorhead. The band stayed together for 17 years and ended their run under the name of Rockin’ Bob. In addition, he taught group guitar lessons at Schmitt Music for many years.

Dale is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Katie (Tim) Glaser of Grandin, ND, Joseph (Mannheim, Germany), and Scott, Hawley; mother, Margaret, Fargo; brother, Larry (Maureen), Minco, OK; sister, Jean (Rod) Lamberson, Leonard; sister-in-law, Linda (Don) Jemtrud, Fargo; mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Arline Loe, Fargo; nephews, James and Jacob Jemtrud of Fargo, Jeffrey Johnston, Matt Hahn (Addie) and their daughter, Evelyn, all of Leonard; niece, Nicole (Nol) Chine and their son, Jaden, Lawton, OK; and his pride and joy, grandsons, Logan and Jack Glaser, Grandin. He was preceded in death by twin brother, Mark; father, Harold; and son, Daniel.

Visitation: Wednesday, from 5 PM until 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral service: Thursday, July 14, 2005, at 10:30 AM, Hawley Lutheran Church. A lunch will be served immediately following the service.

Burial: Thursday, 2:30 PM, Leonard cemetery, Leonard, ND.

Laura Gail Grandbois

Laura Gail Hennemann was born July 7, 1946, to Robert and Lucille (Martell) Hennemann in Fargo, ND. She grew up in Moorhead, MN, and graduated from Moorhead High School and Interstate Business College.

In 1968, Laura married Allen Grandbois and they made their home in Fargo. Laura was a busy homemaker and loving mother to their two daughters, Stacie and Karrie.

In 1994, Laura married David Schiele, and she worked for Riddle’s Jewelry in Fargo. Laura then began working for Remax-Realty One, Fargo-Moorhead, as an administrative assistant. During this time she also earned her realtor’s license.

Laura died Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Innovis Health, Fargo, at the age of fifty-eight.

Laura loved to dance, shop, and spend time in the sun. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren. Laura is survived by two daughters, Stacie (Trent) Legacie and Karrie Grandbois, both of Fargo; two grandchildren, Stacia and Skylar Legacie; her mother, Lucille, Moorhead; two brothers, Mark Hennemann, Moorhead, and Darrell (Barbara) Hennemann, Fargo; former husbands, Allen Grandbois, Fargo, and David Schiele, Fargo; a special aunt, Viola Swanson, Moorhead; and many nieces, nephews, and family members.

Visitation: Thursday, February 24, 2005, 5 – 8 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead

Funeral Service: Friday, February 25, 2005, at 10:30 AM, Valley Christian Church, Moorhead

Interment: Holy Cross cemetery South, Fargo
