Allen Schuh

A funeral service for Allen Schuh, 60, of Dickinson, will be 1:00 p.m. CDT, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, ND. Burial will take place in St. Luke’s Cemetery, north of Zap, ND.

Allen passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home in Dickinson.

Allen Dale was born September 30, 1955, in Hazen ND, the son of Adolf and Ella (Weigum) Schuh. Growing up, he attended school in Zap. He went on to attend Wapeton Trade School and started working for a construction company. Allen later moved to Dickinson where he was currently living. He enjoyed watching sports and movies, playing whist, eating out and fishing. Allen was very generous to his family and he always remembered everyone’s birthday and anniversary. He will be missed.

Allen is survived by his brothers, Milo of Dickinson, Henry of Sarasota, FL, Melvin (Sharon) of Killdeer; sister, Betty Geise of Beulah; nephews, Vance (Shelly) and Chris; nieces, Julie, Shelly, Jennifer (Scott).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Ella Schuh; sister, Agnes Zacher; brother-in-law, Norman Geise; nieces, Sheila Geise and Cheryl Schuh.

Chad Conitz

A funeral service for Chad Conitz, 40, of Dickinson will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jon Skjoldal officiating. In accordance with Chad’s wishes, cremation will take place after the funeral service.

Visitation for Chad will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home.

Chad passed away of natural causes Monday, June 20, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health – Dickinson.

Chad Edward Conitz was born in Bismarck, ND on May 3, 1976. On May 24, 1996 he married the love of his life Kari Jewl Lindstrom in Williston ND. It was there he settled with his new wife and began his family. Chad and his small family of only three at the time moved to Dickinson, ND. It was in Dickinson that Chad would go on to have two additional children with Kari.

Chad enjoyed his family life and adored his wife and children with all his heart. He was viewed as a loving father and protector to his family and with him they felt safe. He raised his children to stand up for what they believed in, regardless of what anyone thought. He taught them to be vigilant of their surroundings, independent as individuals and loving to each other. Chad felt strongly about the importance of family. He was happiest at home with his wife and children beside him. He loved to hear their laughter and loved to be the one to make them laugh. Chad also enjoyed his best buddy and loyal dog, Dimynd.

Chad had multiple hobbies over the years including collecting sports cards, watching football, watching and collecting movies, acting, dancing, singing and performing on stage. He would listen to every genre of music, no matter what type it was, and he would dive into the statistics of each performer he found an interest in. He was always into something new. Chad also loved playing video games with his kids. His most recent passions were MMA Fighting, Body Building and Digital Graphic Art. He debuted as an amateur local circuit MMA fighter in 2011, which was short lived due to an injury to his shoulder on his first fight. Chad quickly bounced back after surgery and put his focus on body building and creating digital graphic art on his computer. His work has been published on body building supplement products and most recently on T-shirts for a local tattoo company.

He is survived by his wife, Kari Conitz; four children, Zane Gilbertson, Atlannta Conitz, Khia Conitz and Riley Conitz; grandson, Zolten Conitz; father, Leon (Norleen) Conitz; mother, Jacquelyn (Mike) Hennesy; brothers, Michael Conitz, and Jason (Alyssa) Conitz; sister, Melissa Solum; brother-in-law, Cody Lindstrom; sister-in-law, Veronica (Martin) Sorenson; 11 nieces and nephews and four great-nephews; and dog, Dimynd.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon and Pauline Folum, Clarence ”Clancy” Conitz; sister-in-law, Kelly Conitz; nephew, Logan Conitz; and father-in-law, Charles Lindstrom.

Joan D. Multhaup

A Funeral Service for Joan Delores Multhaup, 82, of New England, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the First Congregational Church, UCC, in New England, ND with Pastor Janel Kolar officiating. Burial will follow at the New England Cemetery.

Visitation for Joan will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Joan passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson, ND of congestive heart failure.

She was born Dec. 2, 1933 on the farm at DeSart, ND to Anna (Pulkrabek) and Roy Multhaup.

Joan’s education began in a one room country school house known as the “Ott” school, or Enterprise No. 2, one mile west of the farm, where she skipped grade 5. Joan was Valedictorian of her class (1951) at New England Public High, and one of the first to go to the University of North Dakota, at Grand Forks, from New England, majoring in chemistry. She earned her Masters in chemistry at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. She taught Chemistry, Science and Math at high schools and colleges around the United States, including Rutgers University in Newark, NJ.

Throughout her life, Joan was a lover of art and purchased over 40 original paintings over the years, from various artists, which she continued to treasure throughout her life. These, she has left to her six grateful nieces and nephews.

Joan is remembered for being not only a huge Star Trek fan, but also a John Denver fan, before either became famous, thereby recognizing early-on the specialties of both.

Joan is survived by one brother, Herbert Multhaup, New England. She is predeceased by her parents, and one brother, Ernest Multhaup, Arnold, CA.

Barbara Wintermute

Funeral Services for Barbara Wintermute, 76, of Ekalaka, Montana will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Camp Crook Community Hall in Camp Crook, SD. With Pastor Dotty Parfrey officiating. Burial will follow at the Little Missouri Lutheran Cemetery in Capitol, MT.

Visitation for Barbara will take place one hour prior to the funeral service.

Barbara passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Dahl Memorial with her family by her side.

Born Barbara Jean Teigen, November 26, 1939 to Raymond and Ruth Teigen. Barbara was born in Belle Fourche, SD and grew up on the family ranch, near Capitol, with her four siblings. Barbara graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1957. She married Gary “Ruggie” Buck. They raised their family on the Buck Ranch. Barbara was a longtime member of Carter County Cowbells, Montana Woolgrowers, and the Little Missouri Lutheran Church, and ran the High School Rodeo queen contest for many years.

Barbara married Rudy Wintermute and they resided in Colstrip, MT for a time, Rudy worked for Montana Power and Barbara received her realtor’s license. After Rudy’s retirement, together they managed and owned motels in Idaho, Wyoming, and North Dakota. In 2002 they sold their motel in Crosby, ND and retired to Aladdin, WY. In 2013 they moved to Ekalaka, MT.

Barbara’s greatest love was for her children. She also loved to dance and play piano. She spent countless hours filming rodeo, football, and basketball while her children were in high school.

Barb is survived by her husband Rudy of Ekalaka, MT; son, Allan (Terri) Buck of Ekalaka; daughter, Melanie (Dave) Hout of Worland, WY; granddaughters, Raean Bilbrey, Tancy McDaniel, and Randi Hout; grandsons, Nick Hout and Colin Buck; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister, Norma (Whitey) Jardee, Mill Iron, MT; and brother Jack Teigen, Capitol, MT.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Teigen; sons, Randy, Brian, and Tayler; grandson, AJ Buck; and brothers’ Jim (Cy) and Jerry.

Marilyn Root

A graveside service for Marilyn Y. Root, age 78, will be 11:00 a.m. CDT, Monday, June 20, 2016 at ST. John UCC Cemetery, Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, she will be buried next to Armin.

Marilyn passed peacefully into the hands of her maker on March 1, 2016 at the Zumbrota Care Center in Zumbrota, MN. Marilyn was born November 19, 1937 in Dunn County, ND, the daughter of Matt Remsing and Goldie Remsing (Brown).

Marilyn thoroughly enjoyed athletics and the outdoors. She grew up on a farm and loved all animals, especially her pony Blossom. As a high school athlete she won numerous track and basketball awards, but later in life, baseball became her passion. Marilyn graduated from Dunn Center High School and later received a teaching certificate from Dickinson State College in Dickinson, ND.

In 1956, Marilyn began teaching in a rural one-room school north of Hebron, ND and as part of her salary she received room and board at the home of her future in-laws, where she met the love of her life, Armin C. Riedlinger. Not long after, they married and settled in Hebron, North Dakota. Armin and Marilyn owned and operated A & M Construction until Armin’s untimely passing in 1976. Upon his death, Marilyn earned her Associates Degree, which qualified her to work with individuals with intellectual development disorder until her retirement from the Lewiston-Altura School system in 2003.

Marilyn enjoyed camping and fishing, sewing and quilting, and spending time with her grandkids. She was a season ticket holder and diehard Minnesota Twins fan. Therefore, her family happily scheduled events around game time.

Marilyn is survived by her sister, Beverly (Ted) Trinka of Zumbrota; brothers, Darrell (Jo) Remsing of Mission, TX, and Donovan Remsing of Zumbrota; sister-in-law, Lorraine Remsing of Thermopolis, WY; daughters, Bev (Paul) Tupper of Mazeppa and Jerilyn Brown of Louisville, KY; son, Todd Riedlinger of Roosevelt, UT ; six grandchildren; Tawny (Andre) Hernandez of Phoenix, AZ, Brynn (Mitch) Huneke of Washington, DC, Jessica Wallace of Springfield, MO, Lucas Riedlinger, Jackson Riedlinger and Samuel Riedlinger of Roosevelt, UT.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Armin Riedlinger; parents, Matt Remsing and Goldie Remsing (Brown); and brother, Bill Remsing.

Arrangements were provided by Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, MN.
