MINOT -- Leo Brilz, 69, Minot, died of cancer July 10, 2000, in his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Center, with burial at 2 p.m. Thursday in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. He is survived by his wife, Fern; one stepson, Gordon Llewellyn, Minot; stepdaughters, Donna Korgel and April Demaree, both of Minot, Thelma Blohm, Center; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Brilz, Des Moines, Iowa; and sisters, Eva Schulte and Rose Dilger, both of Center, Willie Stockert, Washburn, Kathreine Dinius, Hensler, and Marian Berg, Bismarck. Magdalena Eckholm
Magdalena Eckholm, 84, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, died July 10, 2000, in the home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. James Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Magdalena was born March 10, 1916, at Mercer, the daughter of Alexander and Eva (Holwegner) Neff. She was raised and educated in schools north of Arena. She married Sulo A. Eckholm, Dec. 17, 1938, in Bismarck. They lived in Wing until 1952, when they moved to Mandan. In 1960, they moved to Bismarck. She worked at Foremost Creamery, the Capitol lunchroom, Bismarck Elks Lodge and The Peppermill, retiring in 1979. Through her cooking, she was able to express her love for her family and friends. She was a very special and compassionate person, and will be missed by all. Maggie is survived by a very special friend, Emil Degner; one daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Raymond Hoff, Mandan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Jan, Devils Lake, and Donnie and Sandy, Mandan; six grandchildren and their spouses, Dale and Chris Eckholm, Amy and Dean Schlichting, Michelle and Spike Quainoo, Renee Hoff, Harlan and Darren Eckholm; three great-grandchildren, T.J., Jill and Sara; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Alvin Miller, Tacoma, Wash.; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Joan Neff, Marysville, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband; and eight brothers and sisters.

Elwood K. Erickson
WILLISTON -- Elwood K. Erickson, 60, Williston, died July 9, 2000, in his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Williston. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; his mother, Elnora Erickson, Minot; four sons, Danny, Denver, Bob and Mike, all of Williston, and Kelly, Fargo; three daughters, Virginia Collings, Williston, Pam Oyloe, Sidney, Mont., and Paulette Mitchell, Glendive, Mont.; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Myron, Lewistown, Mont., Gerald, Dillon, Mont., Orville, Williston, and Edwin, Virginia; and two sisters, Elida Kear, Bismarck, and Janice McCann, Minot. Louise Eslinger
GARRISON -- Louise Eslinger, 83, Garrison, died July 10, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garrison, withburial in Emmanuel Cemetery, rural Garrison. She is survived by three sons, Glenn, Bismarck, Gary, Upham, and Dennis, Garrison; two brothers, Albert Henne, Bismarck, and Gottlieb Henne, Minot; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Clark E. Fessenden
FESSENDEN -- Clark E. Fessenden, 66, Fessenden, died July 9, 2000, in the Carrington health center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Fessenden, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Brent and Mitch, both of Fessenden; two daughters, Toni Houchin and Linette Keller, both of Fessenden; 11 grandchildren; one brother, James, Prior Lake, Minn.; and one sister, Beverly Haas, Taylor. Ann Hartwig
DICKINSON -- Ann Hartwig, 76, Dickinson, died July 9, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dickinson. She is survived by one son, Dr. Frank Hartwig, Denver; seven grandchildren; one brother, Edward Sigl, Jacksonville, Fla.; and one sister, Bertha Lisko, Dickinson. Edna Hoffman
WISHEK -- Edna Hoffman, 79, Wishek, died July 10, 2000, in the Wishek nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, with burial in St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek. She is survived by four sisters, Viola Fehling, Kulm, Martha Gruneich, Galt, Calif., Esther Dittus, Lodi, Calif., and Gladys Bauer, Wishek.

WILLISTON -- Bernard Holt, 68, Williston, died of natural causes July 10, 2000, in his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending at Fulkerson Funeral Home, Williston.

Ottilia Jochim, 86, Bismarck, died July 10, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.

DICKINSON -- Henry "H.J." Bren, 70, Dickinson, died Oct. 13, 2000 at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Mischel-0lson Chapel, Dickinson.

Curtis R. Doolittle
Curtis R. Doolittle, 64, Bismarck, died Oct. 12, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans' Cemetery, rural Mandan. Curtis was born on June 13, 1936 in Linton, the son of Clarence and Vada (Becker) Doolittle. He attended school in Omio District in Linton and served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961. He married Alma Birdsell in 1962. He is survived by his son, Clarence "Clancy" and wife Vicki, Bismarck and daughter, Tammy Fetzer and husband, Mike, Wilton; his grandson and best friend, Tyrel "Scooter" Curtis Fetzer, his sisters, Blanche Vetter, Linton, and May Vetter, Braddock, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Fern Walther. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Leslie J. Durick, 90, Lemmon, S.D., died Oct. 12, 2000 in a Lemmon hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT at Calvary Lutheran Church, Lemmon, with burial in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D. He is survived by his wife, Dora; his sons, Steven, Big Stone City, S.D., Michael, Pierre, S.D., Donald, Lemmon, and Patrick, Ozark, Mo.; one daughter, Nancy Maier, Elgin; and two brothers, Eugene, Lemmon, and Alan, Staunton, Va.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Marlys Hanson
RUGBY -- Marlys Hanson, 58, formerly of Rugby, died Oct. 9, 2000 in Apache Junction, Ariz. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Robinson, with the Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and one hour prior to the service at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck. Marlys Hagseth was born July 7, 1942 in Canton, S.D., the daughter of Alvin and Delores (Isminger) Hagseth. She was raised and educated in Robinson. Marlys married Gene Hanson on June 16, 1963 in Robinson. Marlys was recently manager of Sally's Beauty Supply in Apache Junction. She was a caring wife, mother and grandmother. Marlys loved crafts, but especially loved and enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. Marlys is survived by her husband, Gene; one daughter, Lori Simpson and husband Walter, Fort Dix, N.J.; two sons, Brian Hanson and wife Kathy, Bismarck, and Jerry Hanson, Minot; four grandchildren, Chase, Whitney, Zachary, and Jarod; one brother, Sonny and wife Sue, Canton, S.D.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Delores Hagseth; and one grandchild, Tyler. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Raymond W. Iszler
ASHLEY -- Raymond W. Iszler, 75, Ashley, died Oct. 11, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT today at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Ashley, with burial in Ashley City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two daughters, Raynetta Everson, Fargo, and Patricia Krieger, Bismarck; two sons, Keith and Bryan, both of Ashley; one brother, Reinhold, Jamestown; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
