Services will be Friday, July 13, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dean Joy officiating.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Orbra O. Swartz was born
April 27, 1911 on the family farm near Lushton, Nebraska to Harvey J. & Bessie M. (Mart) Swartz.
He graduated from Lushton High School and attended York College, York, Nebraska.
He married Margaret K. Sandall on October 11, 1931 and she preceded him in death in 1985.
They farmed in Fillmore & York County until they retired in 1973 and moved to Hastings, Nebraska.
Margaret & Orbra celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1981.
In 1987, he married Claudia Eichstedt and she preceded him in death in May of 2001.
Orbra was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a past president of Eagles Aerie #592.
Orbra O. Swartz was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Margaret, 2nd wife, Claudia, 1 brother, Cecil, 1 granddaughter and 1 great grandson.

Former Hastings resident, Sebert W. Keim, 91, of Nebraska Veterans Home, Grand Island, Nebraska, died Monday, July 9, 2001 at Nebraska Veterans Home.
Services will be Thursday, July 12, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Doug Griger officiating.
Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Sebert W. Keim was born
August 4, 1909 in Geneva, Nebraska to Eli & Lucy (Crumwell) Keim.
He served in the United States Army during WWII from March 12, 1942 until January 14, 1944.
On June 26, 1965, he married Grace (Brown) Breckner and she preceded him in death in 1997.
He farmed near Nelson, Nebraska until 1971 when they moved to Hastings, Nebraska.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past member of the Eagles.
Sebert W. Keim was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Grace, 2 brothers, 1 sister and 1 step-son.

Marie H. Ocker, 98, of Perkins Pavilion, died Friday, July 6, 2001 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2001; 10:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Kathleen Kasper officiating.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Marie H. Ocker was born
June 12, 1903 near Glenvil, Nebraska to Albert & Eda (Hoppens) Fitzke.
She married Gustav ‘Gus' Ocker on May 31, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1974.
Marie spent her entire life caring for family and friends.
She was a homemaker and did volunteer work.
She worked at Sunnyside Retirement Home and First St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years serving dinners.
After her mothers death in childbirth, Marie cared for her father, brothers and surviving sister.
She was lovingly called ‘Mimi' by her great-great-niece and nephew, Alyssa & Matt.
She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Marie H. Ocker was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav, step son, Erwin Ocker, 2 brothers, Louis & Edmond, a sister, Frieda and a nephew Ronald Fitzke.

David L. Howe, MD
Dr. David L. Howe, 47, of 1512 Heritage Dr., Hastings, Nebraska, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in rural Hastings, Nebraska as a result of an accident.
Services will be Monday, July 9, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at Champions Sport & Recreation Complex, 1220 W. 18th Street, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Randy F. Madison officiating.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Dr. David L. Howe was born
March 9, 1954 in Kearney, Nebraska to Andrew D. & Nevabelle (Bridges) Howe.
He graduated from Kearney High School, Kearney, Nebraska in 1972 and from Kearney State College, now University of Nebraska, Kearney in 1975 with a double major in Biology &
Chemistry.
In 1978, he received his Medical Degree, graduating with AOA honors from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1981 and an Oncology fellowship in 1983, all at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.
On March 15, 1980, he married Janet Weedin in Aurora, Nebraska.
They moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1983 where he began his practice of Cancer Specialists P.C.
He was a member of Evangelical Free Church, where he served on the Board of Elders, Building Committee and worked with the Awana Program.
He was the current President of the Nebraska Oncology Society.
He was also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologist, Lymphoma Study Group, Nebraska Medical Association, Adams County Medical Society, Mary Lanning Memorial Cancer
Committee, Department of Internal Medicine, where he was past chair, Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee, Midwest Oncology Purchasing Society and the American Rose Society.
He was active in the Relay for Life cancer walk in Hastings and the surrounding areas.
He was a past member of the Gideon Society.
Dr. David L. Howe was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law, Kenneth Weedin.
