Barbara C. Iberg, 87, of Perkins Pavilion, died Saturday, April 13, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dean Joy officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.

Barbara C. Iberg was born icon March 31, 1915 in Topeka, Kansas to Fred & Anna Weigel. She graduated from high school and married Floyd W. Iberg in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1973. She moved to Juniata, Nebraska in 1955. She was a Nurse’s Aide at the Hastings Regional Center retiring in 1980. She moved to Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, Nebraska in 1999. She was a member of United Methodist Church and Women’s Circle in Juniata, Nebraska. She was a past member of Easter Star in Burwell, Nebraska.

Barbara C. Iberg was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd W. Iberg, son Donald Iberg, daughter Anna Iberg, sisters Mary Beier, Laura Melchier, Anna Stadler and Pauline Desch and a brother George Beier.

Survivors include,

Ruth Lois Reiner

Ruth L. Reiner, 76, of 1826 Bateman, died April 13, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Nieman officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Ruth L. Reiner was born icon August 31, 1925 in Adams County to J. B. & Ella (Anderson) Harrenstein. She graduated from Hastings High School and married Ernest Reiner on May 10, 1950 in Hastings, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a life long area resident.

Ruth L. Reiner was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, John & Gail Harrenstein.

Dr. James M. Johnson

Hastings resident, Dr. James M. Johnson, 57, of 1318 Hewett, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at his home.

Memorial services will be Monday, April 22, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at French Memorial Chapel, Hastings College, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. David McCarthy and Rev. Matt Nieman officiating.

Dr. James M. Johnson was born icon November 2, 1944 in Hood River, Oregon to Juell & Helen (Kirchoff) Johnson. He graduated from Lemmon High School, Lemmon, South Dakota and earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, South Dakota, a master of fine arts in percussion performance from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa and a doctor of musical arts degree in orchestra conducting from Iowa. He married Mischa Ash on July 19, 1980 and has lived in Hastings, Nebraska since 1980. He was a Professor of Music at Hastings College and Conductor of the Hastings Symphony. He was a member of ASTA (American String Teachers Association), MENC (Music Educators National Conference), Nebraska Music Educators Association and Nebraska String Teachers Association.

Dr. James M. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Johnson.

Florence Irene North, 93, of Perkins Pavilion, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Saturday, April 20, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Sam Rathod officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Florence Irene North was born icon May 9, 1908 near Blue Hill, Nebraska to George & Pearl (Motley) Dykeman. She graduated from Hastings High School and in July of 1930, married Samuel ‘Sam’ North at her parents home. She was a homemaker and also worked for Hastings Casket Company for 12 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mary Lanning Auxiliary and YWCA. She was a life long area resident.

Florence Irene North was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Virginia Hupf and 3 brothers.

Floyd G. Frerichs

Hastings resident, Floyd G. Frerichs, 78, of 1655 East ‘J’ Street, died Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Monday April 22, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Sacia Vik officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Floyd G. Frerichs was born icon September 9, 1923 in Hastings, Nebraska on the family farmstead to Gerd & Hilda (Hinrikus) Frerichs. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1940 and married Lois W. Berndt on November 7, 1943. He was a retired farmer and a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he did volunteer work. He was also a member of Eagle’s Aerie #592 and Southern Hills Golf Course. He had been a rural volunteer fireman and served on the rural fire board for many years. He had also served on District #40 school board and Zion Lutheran school board. He was a life long resident of Adams County.

Floyd G. Frerichs was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Minnie Frerichs and a great grandson, Evan Franzen.

Jack Reandeau

Jack Reandeau, 95, of Perkins Pavilion, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

There will be no service or visitation. His remains were cremated.

Jack Reandeau was born icon November 9, 1906 in Akron, Iowa to Thomas & Matilda (Bertrand) Reandeau. He married Elsie Gerathewold in Hooper, Nebraska on December 21, 1934. She preceded him in death in 1976. Jack was a longtime Holdrege, Nebraska businessman, moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1997.

Jack Reandeau was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 brother, 2 sisters and a son-in-law.

Neal W. Steinkruger, 69, of 111 Lakeside Dr., died Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Prayer service for family & friends, Tuesday, April 23, 2002; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home, Hastings, Nebraska. Services will be Wednesday, April 24, 2002; 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Campbell, Nebraska with Pastor William Caughey officiating. Burial will be in Upland Cemetery, Upland, Nebraska.

Neal Steinkruger was born icon January 26, 1933 near Upland, Nebraska to William & Ann (Schurman) Steinkruger. He graduated from Hildreth High School, Hildreth, Nebraska. He married Dolores Rutt on February 12, 1956 and she preceded him in death on December 16, 1989. He was a farmer in the Upland area for 45 years and has been living in Hastings, Nebraska for the last 2 years. On April 13, 1991, he married Mary Ann (Von Kampen) Korgan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Campbell, Nebraska.

Neal Steinkruger was preceded in death by his parents and wife Dolores Steinkruger.

Services will be Tuesday, April 30, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home with The Very Rev. Richard J. Martindale officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Gary W. Kennedy was born icon May 10, 1961 in Hays, Kansas to John & Doris (Skinner) Kennedy. He married Melissa Elliott on April 16, 1986 in Hastings, Nebraska. He worked for Harv’s Farm Supply in Giltner and Volkmer Auto in Hastings before working as a mechanic at Garvey Elevators & AGP. He was a member of South Central Nebraska Sportsman Club. He moved from Giltner, Nebraska to the Hastings area 1980.

Gary W. Kennedy was preceded in death by his father.
