HELEN T. WILSON, 80, of TINTON FALLS, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Organization, Union, and Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls. Born in Orange, she lived in West Orange for many years before moving to Union, where she lived for 56 years before moving to Tinton Falls over a year ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold M. Wilson. Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Wilson of Middletown, John and Annette Wilson of Clark, and Stephen Wilson of Kenilworth; two sisters, Mary Cammon of Sparta, and Peggy Centrella of Middletown; a brother, Edward Fairchild of West Orange; grandsons, Robert and wife Kelly Wilson of Yardley, Pa., and Michael Wilson of Carteret; granddaughters, Karen Rizzo and her husband, Christopher, of Middletown, and Samantha and Kimberly Wilson of Clark; and three great grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan Wilson, and Lauren Rizzo.
Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Bradley, Haeberle and Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. today at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be at St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit.

HENRY EARNEST HURT, 72, of LONG BRANCH
HENRY EARNEST HURT, 72, of LONG BRANCH, died Saturday, Nov. 22, at home after a long illness. As a child he attended Sanders Chapel Baptist Church, Penfield, Ga., and the public schools of Greensboro, Ga. He was a member of the military reserves while in Georgia and then served with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952 and 1953. He was well known as a master auto mechanic, working for Esso in Little Silver, and F & H Motors of Eatontown. His vast experience in the field ignited the interest in his younger brothers, who moved to Eatontown to work with him in 1957. Born in Penfield, he moved here many years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hurt; a daughter, Doris Jean; two sisters, Murtis Hurt and Lila Mitchell, and five brothers Hiram, William, Clarence, Lynton and Jimmie. Surviving are his wife, Annabel; a dear friend, Elizabeth Meyers; a sister, Irene McMurray of Greensboro; two brothers, Madison of Birmingham, Ala., and Roosevelt of Fallbrook, Calif.; and seven sons, Henry, Donald, Gary, Milton, Terrell, Mustafa and Bobaya.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Flock Funeral Home, 243 Broadway, Long Branch. A funeral ceremony will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.

JOAN H. LEWIS, 60, of RED BANK
JOAN H. LEWIS, 60, of RED BANK, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was member of Fisk Chapel A.M.E. Church, Fair Haven. She was a 1961 graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. She obitpix was born in Fair Haven and lived there before moving to Red Bank in 1968.
Surviving are her husband, Donald A. Lewis; a son, Donald A. Lewis Jr. of Neptune; two daughters, Felicia Vinson of Neptune, and Catherine Lewis of Red Bank; her mother, Myrtle Howard of Fair Haven; three brothers, Kevin Howard of Long Branch, Craig Howard of Ocean Township, and Robert Howard of Florida; two sisters, Evelyn Perkins of Neptune City, Christine Howard of Fair Haven; nine grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until an 11 a.m. service at Fisk Chapel A.M.E. Church, 38 Fisk St., Fair Haven. Interment will follow in Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls. LAURENCE P. SHANNON, 57, of KEANSBURG
LAURENCE P. SHANNON, 57, of KEANSBURG, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a custodian for five years for Middletown Township Board of Education. Before that, he was a warehouseman for Lily Tulip, Holmdel, for 17 years, and Rickels for 17 years. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, and a member of Middletown Elks 2179, the Keansburg Good Fellows and the Raccoon Club of Middletown.
Surviving are his wife, Marion Pollard Shannon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and James Corrao of Keansburg, Dorothy and Kurt Puthe of Keansburg, and Dawn and Carmine Mode of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Patricia O'Dea of Bayside, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren.
Visiting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Ave., West Keansburg. A funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Cremation will be at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.

LOUIS "LOU" CHIOLA, 80, of NEPTUNE
LOUIS "LOU" CHIOLA, 80, of NEPTUNE, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at home after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was owner and operator of Madonna's Bar & Liquors, Asbury Park, for over 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Asbury Park, and a life member of Asbury/ Wall Elks 128. Born in Brooklyn, he lived at the Shore most of his adult life, and wintered in Melbourne Beach, Fla., after his retirement.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary Madonna Chiola; two daughters, Lorraine Schuster of Ewing, and Rosalie Fuhring of Neptune City; a sister, Clara Parolise of South Bound Brook; a grandson, Jarrod Fuhring of Ocean County; three granddaughters, Dina Vickery of Ocean County, Lori Derboben of Florida, and Kate Schuster of Ewing; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Asbury Park. Interment in St. Anne's Cemetery, Glendola, Wall.

NAPOLEON G. BASINANG, 76, of LONG BRANCH, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Barnabas Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Long Branch. He was a driver for many years for Elizalde Co., President Roxas, Capiz, Philippines. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Long Branch. Born in Quiajo, Philippines, he moved to Long Branch eight years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Rosibida Demaisip Basinang; sons, Nelson, Nilo, Lazaro, Rizalde, and Gilbert; daughters, Florence, Florida, Ma. Rosa, Gella, and Mylene; four sisters; 17 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hoffman Funeral Home, 415 Broadway, Long Branch. Interment in President Roxas Municipal Cemetery, President Roxas, Capiz, Philippines.

ROBERT J. GIBBS, 73, of West Milford, formerly of HAZLET
ROBERT J. GIBBS, 73, of West Milford, formerly of HAZLET, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at John F. Kennedy Hospice, Edison. He was a steam fitter with Local 638, New York City, for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Hazlet before moving to West Milford five years ago.
He was predeceased by his wife, Therese D. Lynch Gibbs, on Sept. 22, 1993; his father, Robert Gibbs; and his mother, Kathryn Arthur Gibbs. Surviving are three sons, Robert V. Gibbs of San Diego, Calif., Gregory C. Gibbs of Jackson, and Thomas P. Gibbs of Claysburg, Pa.; a daughter, Therese M. Heger of West Milford; two sisters, Frances Curtin of Parsippany, and Carol Oberdeck of Metuchen; a brother, John Briody of Parlin, Sayreville; seven grandchildren; and his stepfather, Cornelius Briody.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice and Alzheimer's Foundation, c/o JFK Medical Center, 80 James St., Edison, NJ 08818-9972.

WALTER P. RYAN, 83, of MONMOUTH BEACH
WALTER P. RYAN, 83, of MONMOUTH BEACH, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was a parimutuel clerk for New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority at the Meadowlands, where he worked for 10 years before retiring. Previously, he worked for Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport from 1946 to 1979. He was vice president of Local 137, Cherry Hill, from 1960 to 1989 and shop steward for Meadowlands from 1979 to 1989. He owned and raced thoroughbred horses in the 1970s. He owned and operated the Berkshire Hotel, Keansburg, from 1967-1977. He also owned and operated his own construction company building many custom homes in the area. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, Middletown. He had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother, St. Theresa and the Rosary. He was cherished and loved by his daughters. Born Sept. 21, 1920, in Keansburg, he lived there before moving to Monmouth Beach 10 years ago.
His was predeceased by his wife, Jane Mallon Ryan, on March 7, 1990; his father, Edward Ryan, and his mother, Grace Cunningham; two brothers, Edward Ryan, and Richard Ryan, and a sister, Emma Hgromoho. Surviving are two daughters, Linda E. Ryan of Monmouth Beach, and Jeannine M. Ryan of Monmouth Beach; two sisters-in-law, Betty Ryan of Keansburg, and Diane Wallace and John of Whiting, Manchester; nieces and nephews, Thomas, Edward, Susanne, and William Stephenson; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. The funeral gathering will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.

DOROTHY C. PUTRINO, 85, of Original Leisure Village, LAKEWOOD, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at Care One at Evesham, Marlton. She was a safety deposit officer at Midlantic Bank, Newark, for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Italian American Club, the Singles Club, and the Singing Club, all of Originial Leisure Village. Born in Scotland, she lived in Belleville for 25 years before moving to the Original Leisure Village six years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Putrino. Surviving are her son, Robert T. Putrino of Pembrook Pines, Fla.; two daughters, Dorothy E. Lowack of Lakewood, and Donna Cantone of Marlton; two granddaughters, Debra Farrand and Chelsea Cantone; a grandson, Gregory Lowack; and a great-grandson, Christian Farrand.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at D'Elia Funeral Home, Highway 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood. EDNA M. WHITMAN, 77, of Trenton, formerly of JACKSON, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She retired from the Mercer Medical Center in Trenton. She was a former member of St. Mark Methodist Church in Hamilton Square. She was also an avid Yankee fan. She was born in Jersey City and lived in Trenton and Jackson most of her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Lillian Hankins Whitman; three brothers, Kenneth, Frank and Leroy; and a sister, Laverne. Surviving are an uncle, Elmer Hankins of Freehold; two goddaughters, Lisa Robertson of Wallington and Joann Michalkowski of Forked River, Lacey; a close friend, Evelyn Anderson of Trenton; a cousin, Anthony Sebasto of Trenton; and her extended family in the Trenton area.
Visitation will be held 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 S. Broad St., Hamilton. A funeral will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a Methodist service at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

EVELINE K. MOHRING HAWK, 81, of Bayville, BERKELEY, died Thursday, Nov. 27, at home. She was an assembler for Teledyne Corporation, Lakewood, and a cashier at Cedar Creek Golf Course, Berkeley. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Metuchen. She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Manahawkin Elks 2340 and a current member of the Lacey Elks 2518. She was an avid bowler for 34 years with the Friday Night Good Times League at Berkeley Lanes, Bayville. Born in New Brunswick, she lived in California and Georgia before moving to Bayville in 1965.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Edmund Hawk, in 1987. Surviving are a son, Keith Hawk of Toms River, past district deputy of southeast district Lacey Elks 2518; two daughters and a son in-law, Carol Pircher of Bayville, and Maureen and Gene Garmon of Cape Coral, Fla.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

GLENN ALLEN WRIGHT, 34, of Lansdale, Pa., formerly of JACKSON, died Saturday, Nov. 29, in a traffic accident in Florence, N.J. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and employed as warehouse manager for Custom Building Products in Logan Township. He served in the Marine Corps. Born in Trenton, he lived in Jackson before moving to Lansdale.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Farinella Wright; two children, Samantha Lynn Wright and Hunter Allen Wright, both of Lansdale; his mother, Joann Wolf Wright; a brother, Gregory Wright; two sisters, Jacqueline and Jennifer Wright; his maternal grandfather, George Wolf, and an uncle, Dennis Wolf, both of Doylestown, Pa.; foster parents, Greg and Pat Wallace Sr. of Toms River; a foster brother, Greg Wallace; and a foster sister, Rene Wallace Greenhalgh.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, Derstine and Cannon avenues, Lansdale. LAURENCE J. DOUGLAS, 82, of BRICK, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at Laurelton Village Nursing Home, Brick. He was a building inspector for Building Underwriters Corp. for many years. He was a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps. Born in Staten Island, he lived in Somerville for 26 years before moving to Brick in 1997.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Scimone Douglas, in 1995; and a son, Michael, in 1984. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Francine Douglas of Brick, Joseph of White House Station, and Robert of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

MARGARET A. WILKS, 89, of TOMS RIVER, formerly of Brick, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at Kensington Manor Nursing Home, Toms River. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Matha's Beehive, Point Pleasant, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Senior Group in Brick, and enjoyed line dancing in both organizations. Born in Holcomb, W.Va., she lived in Hillside, and in Brick from 1981 until moving to Toms River four years ago.
Her husband, Edward Wilks, died in 1981. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Logan of Brick; a sister, Helen Pollock of Northport, Fla.; and two grandsons, Thomas and Robert.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Herbertsville Colonial Funeral Home, 1045 Sally Ike Road, Brick. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
