CONNER ROYAL QUINTANA , 36, died Sunday due to a motorcycle accident. He loved his life and family and strived for peace and happiness while finding contentment with his animals. He is survived by his wife, Dana; daughters, Karri and Stacy; mother, Susan MacDonell and husband Tom; father, Ronald E. Quintana and wife; and many other relatives and friends. Burial will take place at 5 p.m. at the Madrid Cemetery. 690-2420.

DOROTHY FRANCES SIMI, 72, of Los Alamos died Monday after a long illness. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and babysitter. She gave unconditional love for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sons, Darrick and Edwin and parents, Alfred and Arlene Swett. She is survived by her husband, Oliver; children, Kenneth Simi, Margaret Reeves and husband Frank, Laurel Roberts and husband Jeff, and Matthew Simi and wife Patty; and 10 grandchildren. If desired memorials may be directed to your favorite charity. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road in Los Alamos followed by burial in Guaje Pines Cemetery. ALVIN TRUJILLO, 34, of Chili died Saturday. He was preceded in death by his father, Andy Trujillo. He is survived by his sons, Glen Trujillo and Dale Gurule; mother, Evangelina Archuleta and companion Dennis Maestas; brothers and sisters, Emily and Stephanie Trujillo, Joyce Marquez and companion Bobby Gonzales, Andrew Trujillo and wife Juanita and Dennis Serrano; stepsisters, Karen, Celeste and Stephanie Maestas; and many other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu with burial to follow at the Abiquiu Catholic Cemetery. WILLIAM (BILL) G. WHITE, 78, died August 4, 2004 in St. George, Utah. He was formerly of Santa Fe. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Genny); sons, William (Greg) and wife Sally, and Doug; brothers, Durwood and wife Edith, and Keith; four grandchildren;, and many other relatives and friends. REYES F. BARBERO, 83, died Monday in Victorville, Calif. He resided in Victorville, Calif., since 1999. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and saw action in the European campaign. He was decorated with the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. He retired from the Carpenters Union after 25 years and resided in Reno, Nev., for 40 years. He eventually moved to the High Desert area of Southern California for health reasons. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Tony Barbero, Robert Barbero, Betty Warthen and David Barbero; six grandchildren; and sisters, Loyda, Eralia and Delfina. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Santa Maria de La Paz Catholic Church. ALFONSO KEVIN MARTINEZ SR. of Chimayó died unexpectedly Thursday. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Leroy Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Jolene Martinez; son, Alfonso Kevin Martinez, Jr. of Chimayó; mother, Diana Martinez and companion Milfred of Chimayó; brother, Joe S. Martinez and companion Rose of Velarde; close cousin, Elissa Abeyta of Espanola; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Block-Salazar Mortuary in Española. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayó with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayó. ELIDA CLOSE CARPENTER RAGLE, 85, of Santa Fe died Aug. 31. She was born in Cave Springs, Ga. She left Cave Springs for Santa Fe in the 1930s to work at the New Mexico School for the Deaf as a physical education teacher. She met her husband when he was hired to teach her and the other new teachers how to drive. She was married in 1938. She had six children and managed to run the Mobil Service Station at the corner of Galisteo and Water Street for 20 years with her husband. They operated several car rental businesses from offices at La Fonda, on Shelby and at the airport. She and her husband invested in land around Santa Fe and other surrounding areas. She played an important part in the Founders of the Rodeo de Santa Fe. She was active in Eastern Star and DAR. She loved fishing and hunting with her family. She had a genuine love of nature and animals. She loved to tell Southern hunting and fishing stories. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She often could be seen at many of the Santa Fe High School volleyball games. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Ragle; sons, Paul Ragle, Jr. and Charlie G. Ragle; daughter, Barbara Ragle; brothers, Harper, Bill, and Arthur Carpenter; sister, Clara Talbot; and parents, Lizzie Mae and A.D. Carpenter. She is survived by her children, Diana Balich and husband Nick of Scottsdale, Ariz., Margaret (Maggie) Ragle and friend John A. Tubbs of Santa Fe; son, Norman Ragle and wife Linda of Lake City, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Santa Fe, 1605 Old Pecos Trail followed by burial at the Fairview Cemetery. McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary, 983-9151.

BRIAN PAUL JONES, 25, died Tuesday.

DAVID LUTCHMAN, 21, died September 3, 2004 of acute lymphomia leukemia.
He was born to Dino Lutchman and Dorothy Baca in Wurzberg, Germany. He lived in Silver Springs, Md. He was attending Montgomery College as a student in radiology medicine.
He is survived by his father, Dino Lutchman of Laurel, Md.; mother, Dorothy Baca and husband Alex; brother, Evaristo; sisters, Victoria and Michaela, all of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound with burial to follow at San Jose Cemetery in Cañada Bonita in Ocate.

JAMES W. SEWELL, 80, of Springer died.
He was born to Frank and Ada Sewell in Springfield, Mass. His father died when he was a baby, and the family moved to Amarillo, Texas. At age 8, his mother died, and he went to live in Kilgare, Texas. At age 13, he moved back to Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1941. He was a proud member of "The Greatest Generation." He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946. He went to signalman school and advanced radio and carpool school and served aboard the USS Salem, Mine Division No. 50 during the invasions of North Africa and Sicily. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a triple major in biology, English and chemistry and a minor in German. He received his doctor of medicine degree from Southwestern Medical School at the University of Texas in 1952. He did his hospital training at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas. He practiced medicine for 16 years in Dallas and 21 years in Springer. He called himself a "country doctor" doing general practice, minor surgery and OB/GYN delivering many babies, which he greatly enjoyed. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Springer and an ordained deacon of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church of Dallas where he also taught the adult men's Sunday School class. He was an avid hunter of deer, elk and antelope. He loved the outdoors, long drives in the country and being up in the mountains. He was a voracious reader.
He is survived by his wife, Myda Sullivan Sewell of the family home and sons, James Jr. of Carrollton, Texas, David Kirk of Dallas, and William "Dub" Wayne of Plainview, Texas; daughters, Paula Diane Lawrence of Houston and Suzanne Ruth Baaker of Ft. Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home, 224 N. 1st, Raton. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Springer with burial to follow at Springer Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in his memory to the Health Centers of Northern New Mexico, P.O. Box 487, Springer, N.M., 87747.
