MARTY JIMMY TRUJILLO, 23, of Chimayó died Thursday. He was preceded in death by his sister, Angel Trujillo.
He is survived by his parents, Orlando and Martha Trujillo of Chimayó; brothers, Orlando Trujillo and Angelo Trujillo and companion Jovanna Reyes; close friend, Josie Viarrial of San Juan; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 3:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Templo Calvario Church in Chimayó with burial to follow at the Assembly of God Cemetery in Chimayó.

SHEILA T. VALDEZ, 38, of Santo Niño died Wednesday after a long illness.
She had a love for animals. She loved to raise her dogs and particularly enjoyed the company of her dog, Bobo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sofonias Valdez; and infant brother, John.
She is survived by her mother, Theresa Valdez of Santo Niño; brothers, John Valdez and wife Lydia of Las Vegas, Nev., Danny Valdez and wife MaryAnn, Randy Valdez and wife Sophie, and Joseph Valdez, all of Santo Nino; longtime companion, Tom Cordova of Santa Fe; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A devotional service will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home.

RAY VALENCIA of Santa Fe and Medanales died suddenly Wednesday.
He was a devoted father, grandfather and husband.
After his tour of duty during the Korean conflict, he graduated from Gallaudet College in Washington, D.C., and began teaching at the New Mexico School for the Deaf in Santa Fe, eventually taking the position of dean of students. He also taught special education classes in the Española Public School systems for many years while commuting from his ranch in Medanales.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Valencia.
He is survived by his children, Ana Berry of Santa Fe, Gloria Valencia of Salt Spring Island, B.C., Sam Valencia of Santa Fe and Felix Valencia of Santa Fe; grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday with a rosary to be recited at 5 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at San Isidro Catholic Church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

LALA VIOLA VIGIL, 58, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday.
She was born in Las Vegas, N.M., to Manuel Duran and Aurelia Avila. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was generous and giving and kept an immaculate home. She loved to play bingo. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Duran; brother, Querino Duran; and daughter, Martha Vigil.
She is survived by her mother, Aurelia Duran; father of her children, Benito Vigil; children, Mark Vigil and Rebecca Vigil; special friends, Ronnie Lucero, Venita Vigil, Benito Lemos and Christina Lemos, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; seven grandchildren; brother, Abelino Duran and wife Sandra of Las Vegas, N.M.; sister, Carmen Lucero and husband Louie of Las Vegas, N.M.; and many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held today, Sunday and Monday at the Rogers Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the same church with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
She will lie in state at the Rogers Chapel on Saturday, Sunday and Monday until the rosary, where family and friends may call.

HUMBERT J. ALARID of Acequia Madre died Friday.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lala Alarid Vieira.
He survived by his sister Corina Martinez Alarid of Santa Fe; son, Martin Alarid and wife, Frances; daughters, Angela Valdez and Jackie Alarid; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was a lifelong resident of Acequia Madre. He served with the Army's 894th during World War II. He retired from the State Forestry Service.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. today at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MARY MARGARET (PEG) ALLEN, 96, of Santa Fe died Friday at El Castillo Retirement Residences.
She was born in Versailles, Pa., the daughter of the late Harvey S. Allen and Ida Ferrall Allen.
She received her bachelor of arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, and graduated from the School of Applied Social Services, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She pursued a career in social work and worked for the federal government in Cleveland from 1930-53, and in Chicago from 1953 until her retirement in 1970. She retired to El Castillo Retirement Residences in Santa Fe in 1972. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe. She served as a deacon and was active in the Presbyterian Women's Association. She was a life member of the Chicago Academy of Sciences, Nature Conservancy, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a Pioneer Member of the National Association of Social Workers, and Public Welfare Association. She was a board member of the League of Women Voters of Santa Fe, served on the board of AARP, and held many offices in the EL Castillo Resident's Association.
She is survived by her brothers, Junius F. Allen and wife, Zella, of Sarasota, Fla. and Ralph W. Allen and wife, Louise, of Cranberry Township, Pa.; special nephews, James Allen of Powell, Ohio; and David B. Allen of Pittsburgh; special niece, Margaret (Peg) Rychcik, McMurray, Pa.; and many other relatives.
