WILLIAM DAVID HALEY JR.
William (Bill) David Haley Jr., 73, of Moriarty passed away Nov. 8, 2006 in Albuquerque.
Bill was born July 27, 1933, in Micawber, Okla. He joined the armed forces as a teenager and saw duty in England during World War II and ferried airplanes throughout the Pacific during the Korean War. He retired from the USAF after a stint at Walker Base in Roswell. He married Sue Proctor and they had two children, William David Haley III and Mellony Ann.
Bill became an over-the-road trucker until ill health forced him to quit in 1993. He had traveled all over the continental U.S. during this time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Haley; daughter, Mellony Stewart; daughter-in-law, Sharon Haley; brother, Bobby Haley; and a sister, Billie June Haley.
Bill is survived by his wife, Helen Haley of Moriarty; son, William David Haley III of Albuquerque; stepsons, John K. Burson of Tucumcari, Thomas W. Burson of Moriarty; stepdaughters, Anne M. Current and Loren, Samantha L. Pipkins and Roger; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A viewing was held Friday at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty. Funeral services were Saturday at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel with Don Corley officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

EVELYN RUTH JOHNSON
Evelyn Ruth Johnson, 73, of Estancia passed away Nov. 7, 2006 at her home in Estancia.
Evelyn was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Coleman County, Texas, to Herbert and Ava (Davis) Turner. Evelyn married George O. Johnson on Oct. 30, 1967.
Known by those she loved as Ruth, mom or grandma, Evelyn was an active member of the Living Way Ministries in the 1980s. A co-driver with her husband, George, she ministered to hundreds across the nation and considered this land from ocean to ocean her home. Always with an open heart and open hand for those she met, or heard needed help, her favorite things in life were her God, family and friends, trucking, sewing and gardening. If you knew Ruth and your names are not listed here, know that she had little pieces of paper with your names that she kept in a plastic bag. She loved you very much and prayed for you every day.
Family of the heart is her adopted brother, Marcellus "Bearheart" Williams, and adopted daughter, Helen Torhan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elbert Dayton Turner, William "Pete" DeEldon Turner; and great-grandson, Patrick Gilmore.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, George Johnson; son, James William Myers III and wife Kim of Collbran, Colo.; daughters, Voncelle and husband Paul Harman of Edgewood, Teresa and husband Mansell Gilmore of Estancia; brother, Herbert Donald and wife Eva Turner; sister, Dorothy Martell Foster; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:11 a.m. at the Families Home in Estancia with Roxroy Reed officiating.

JAY K. CAMPBELL JR.
Jay K. Campbell Jr., 48, died Nov. 9, 2006 in Albuquerque.
He was born April 10, 1958, in Burbank, Calif.
He is survived by his mother, Ellen Vicky Campbell of Moriarty; his father, Jay K. Campbell Sr. of New York; his former wife, Kate Campbell of Missouri; brothers, John S. Campbell and wife Kristen of South Carolina, Anthony Ortez and wife Jenny of Albuquerque, and Philip Ortez and wife Rita of Oklahoma; sisters, Kathryn McDonald and husband Trey of Florida and Susan Hagenbuch and husband Dan of New York; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family Dolores Ortez, Tim Hackett, Clara Molina, Elena and Raul Fava, Arthur and Cheryl Dutch and Georgia and Blaine Bonacci.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty with Father Young officiating.

MARGIE ELLEN MACK
Margie Ellen Mack, 84, of Estancia passed away Nov. 10, 2006 at her home in Estancia.
Margie was born June 29, 1922, in Columbus, Ohio, to Wilson and Alice (Huddle) Lewis. Margie was a member of the senior citizens group, a member for caring for the elderly, also a member in Primary Child Organization with the LDS Church. She had been a resident of Estancia since 1965 and was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Charles Harper Mack in 1974.
Margie is survived by her son, Thomas Frederick Lacey of Lancaster, Ohio; daughters, Mary Alice and husband Michael Raver of Baltimore, Ohio; Patricia Ann Asmussen of Florence, Colo.; Sharon and husband Jerry Ross of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Estancia with President Virgil Higgins officiating.

MARY ELENA PARRAZ CHAVEZ
Mary Elena Parraz Chavez, 79, of Moriarty died Nov. 13, 2006 in Albuquerque with her loving family beside her.
Mary was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Vaughn to Rumaldo and Carmelita (Vigil) Parraz. Mary married Manuel Chavez on Jan. 18, 1951, in Vaughn and is a member of the Mount Carmel Society.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Manuel Chavez; son, Manuel and wife Beth Chavez of Moriarty; daughter, Elena (Helen) and husband Charles Archibeque of Ardmore, Okla.; brother, Joe Parraz; sister, Emelia Gutierrez; nine grandchildren; and five and a half great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vicente Parraz, Basilio Parraz, Andres Parraz and Leo Parraz; and sisters, Erlinda Clark and Dometilla Baca.
A Mass will be held today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty with Father Young officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty.

RAFAEL CARVAJAL
Rafael Carvajal, 56, of Estancia passed away Nov. 13, 2006 at his home in Estancia.
Rafael was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jose Carvajal and Estella Arenivar Derme. Rafael was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia and had been a resident of Estancia for 27 years.
Rafael is survived by his mother, Estella Arenivar Derme of Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico; girlfriend, Carmen Gonzales of Estancia; sons, Joseph Lascano of Estancia and Manuel Lascano of Albuquerque; daughters, Estella and husband Jose Chaparro of Estancia, Vickie and husband Jerod Massey of Estancia, and Victoria Carvajal; brother, Alberto Carvajal of Mexico; sister, Marielena Carvajal of Mexico; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Carvajal.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Young officiating.
