Clarence Benjamin Chavez, Sr. (C. B.)
1922-2010
Clarence Benjamin Chavez, Sr. (C. B.), born in Reserve, NM and a life-long resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was a member of San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas and was a member of the Elks Club. C. B. enjoyed golf and was an avid baseball fan. C. B. was proud to have served in U.S. Army (45th Infantry) during World War II along with his four brothers. He worked at the Rio Grande Conservancy District and retired in 1988 from the Accounting Department of the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. T. and Lillie M. Chavez; four brothers, Joe, A. T. , Dan, and Grant; three sisters, Virginia Gorett, Ethyl Martinez and Lillie Aguirre. C.B. is survived by his wife of 67 years, Angelina A. Chavez; son, C. B. Chavez, Jr. and spouse Linda; daughter, Violet Otero and spouse, Emilio; two half-brothers, A. T. and Leroy Chavez; step-mother, Carlota Chavez; he was blessed with four granddaughters, Erin Chavez, Julie Utash, Venessa Tregembo, and Yolanda Chavez and eight great- grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at the San Clemente Parish on Tuesday, November 23, at 9:00 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 24, at 3:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Grant Aguirre, A.T. Chavez, Frank Gurule, David Gurule, Don Chavez and Leroy Chavez.
Virginia Gutierrez
1971-2011
Virginia Leonore Janine Gutierrez, age 40, a resident of Belen, NM passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
She loved her children and was very involved in their sports activities.
She was always there to cheer them on at their games.
Virg was loved by all and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Marcelino J. Cordova
1927-2011
Marcelino J. Cordova, age 84, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church.
Marcelino was an Army veteran of World War II, and a life long rancher along with his father and his brothers.
Maria Ninfa Sanchez
1916-2012
On January 21, 2012, Maria Ninfa Sanchez affectionately known as “Ninfa,” age 95, went home to be with The Lord and her husband Fidel who preceded her in death in 1998. They were married for 62 years. Ninfa was a life-long resident of Belen and member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She belonged to the Catholic daughters of America, Sacred Heart League, Blessed Sacrament Society, and was a state of New Mexico retiree employed as a Dietician at the former Los Lunas Hospital and Training School. Ninfa was loved by many throughout her life and people were blessed by her presence. She was an excellent homemaker known for her tasty cooking and baking. Ninfa is survived by her four children, Richard Sanchez, Ruth Johnston and her husband, Gary, Mary Sanchez and fiance, Waldo Lucero, and Patrick Sanchez; brother, Herman Sanchez; three grandchildren, Rick Johnston, Alan Johnston, and Debbie Oberer and husband, Mark; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 24, at 5:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Wednesday, January 25, at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rick Johnston, Debbie Oberer, Alan Johnston, Mark Oberer, Joshua Pierce, and Andrew Sanchez.
Angela Romero
1964-2012
Angela Romero, age 48, a resident of Belen passed away on Thursday, January 19. She was well known to many people for her loving kindness and generosity and was always willing to help others in whatever way she could. Angela was a loving daughter, mother, sister, and granny to her only grandchild, Vicente Herrera. She will be dearly missed. She and her daughter, Stephanie passed away within minutes of each other. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Romero; and brothers, Steve and Paul Romero. Angela is survived by her son, Anthony “Guy-Guy” Gonzales; very special grandson, Vicente Herrera; mother, Mary Lou Romero; brother, Phillip Romero; and sister, Debbie Romero Aragonez. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, special aunts, uncles and friends. Angels all around you. We love you!!! All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a Viewing at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Xavier and Willie Romero, Ray Armijo, Sandra Cano, Johnny Gutierrez, Jr., and Anthony “Guy-Guy” Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mary Ann Moya Rodriguez.
Stephanie Gonzales

Stephanie Gonzales, age 24, a resident of Belen, passed away on Thursday, January 19. She was a gentle, kind, quiet and loving person and was a wonderful mother to her only son, Vicente, whom she loved with all her heart. Stephanie was a loving sister to her brother, Anthony and had a special relationship with her “favorite” Marlena Baca. She loved her “Nana”, Mary Lou very much and her grandma, Merejilda. She will forever remain in out hearts and will be greatly missed. Stephanie and her mother, Angela passed away within minutes of each other. She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Gonzales. Stephanie is survived by her son, Vicente Herrera; brother, Anthony “Guy-Guy Gonzales; and her grandmothers, Mary Lou Romero and Merejilda Gonzales. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. May God bless you always. Angels all around you. We love you!!!
