Irene A. Mulligan
WEST WINFIELD — Irene A. Mulligan, 79, of Burrows Road, formerly of Richfield Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2003, in her home.
She was born on June 27, 1923, in Richfield Springs, daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Dunne Mulligan. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Richfield Springs Central School.
For 25 years she worked in quality control for UNIVAC in Utica, retiring in 1985. Mrs. Mulligan has resided in West Winfield since 1982, coming from Richfield Springs.
She was a member of Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, and the Catholic Women's Club. A member of both West Winfield and Bridgewater Senior Citizens. Irene looked forward to going on the many bus trips that they took.
She will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her family.
Surviving are her son, Thomas and his wife, Georgia, Cantwell of Springfield Center; a granddaughter, Amy and her husband, John, Selover of Cooperstown; a great-granddaughter, Molly Selover; one sister, Marion T. Horan of California; a brother, Robert J. and his wife, Helen, Mulligan of Fly Creek; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Mulligan; and a special friend, J. Francis Burns.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m.
Funeral will be from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Terence Healy officiating.
Mrs. Mulligan will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery later this spring at a time to be announced.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the West Winfield Emergency Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Elsie Myers
SIDNEY — Mrs. Elsie Myers, 89, a resident at the Skilled Nursing Facility, The Hospital, Sidney, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 16, 2003, in Sidney.
Elsie was born April 26, 1913, in New York City, the daughter of the late Albert A. and Carolyn Buechler Morris.
On May 28, 1960, she married Donald Myers in Sidney. He predeceased her on Nov. 9, 2000.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Sidney, and the Charles L. Jacobin Post 183 American Legion Auxiliary, Sidney.
Elsie was a retired secretary for the E.C.D. of Bendix, Sidney. She retired in 1989 after more than 35 years with the company. Before moving to Sidney, she was a hospital administrator in Newton, N.J.
She is survived by her stepdaughter and husband, Carol and William Madden, Morristown, N.J.; granddaughter and her fiance, Tracey Rumbelow and Derek Green, Asheboro, N.C.; and several cousins.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, from the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, with the Rev. Michael Shank, pastor of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Sidney, officiating.
Burial will be later in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.

Margaret Feil
FRANKLIN SQUARE — Margaret Feil, 83, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at her son's home in Westford.
She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in New York City, the daughter of James and Madge (Gannon) Elliott.
She married Frank Feil on Jan. 14, 1945. He predeceased her in 1958.
Mrs. Feil lived in Hartwick for 10 years, moving to Long Island in 1959.
She was at one time employed by Nabisco in West Hempstead.
She is survived by three sons, Frank Feil of Franklin Square, James Feil and his wife, Terry, of Westford, and Thomas Feil of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren, Adam, Ehern, Nick, Andrew, Kim and Nicole; one great-granddaughter, Jordan; a brother, John Elliott of Florida; a sister, Mary Lang of Long Island; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 17, at the Heller Funeral Home in Schenevus.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Robert Thompson, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Schenevus, officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Index at later date.

Curtis Soden
WINNSBORO, Texas — Mr. Curtis Albert Soden passed away Saturday, March 15, 2003, in Winnsboro, Texas, at the age of 78.
He was born in Jersey City, N.J., on Aug. 9, 1924. He married the former Eunice Shirley Eldred on Oct. 18, 1975.
He retired from the Binghamton Press newspaper in New York where he was a pressman.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro and of the Winnsboro Humane Society. He played his harmonica at the local nursing homes for the residents.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Soden, of Winnsboro; son, David John Soden of New Jersey; daughters, Beverly Jean Crawford of Brownsmills, N.J., Elizabeth Wright of Florida, Rebecca Jo Condon of Otego, Barbara Elaine Pecor of Florida; stepson, Michael Henry Bryden of New Berlin; stepdaughters, Gail Anderson of Syracuse, Karole Strayer of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Joy Tracy of Sherburne; 28 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today, March 17, at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Henry Suche, officiating.

Eugene M. Trask
MARYLAND — Eugene M. Trask, 83, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003, at The Meadows in Middlefield.
He was born July 14, 1919, in Maryland, the son of Charles and Fanny (Grimes) Trask.
He married Muriel M. Yunker on June 8, 1945, in Maryland. She predeceased him on May 2, 2000.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.
Mr. Trask was employed by the United States Postal Service in Maryland as a rural carrier for 32 years.
He lived in Maryland until 1980, when he moved to Port Richie, Fla., then in 1999, he moved back to the area.
He is survived by two daughters, Jill and her husband, Jim, Scott of Maryland, and Ann and her husband, Bob, Kitts of Silver Springs, Md.; grandchildren, Colleen and her husband, Dan, Renzi, Ryan and Sean Scott, Danny and Marianne Kitts; and a great-grandson, Michael Scott.
He was predeceased by twin sisters, June Stevenson and Jane West.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Maryland Cemetery at a later date.
At the request of the family, contributions may be made to the new Meadows, Otsego Manor, the Alzheimer's Unit.

Jean K. Perkins
NEW BERLIN — Jean Kamerer Perkins, 88, of New Berlin passed away March 16, 2003, at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home, New Berlin.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1914, in Union City, Pa., the daughter of Frederick Donald and Marie (Thompson) Kamerer.
She was a graduate of Schenectady High School. She attended Syracuse University and graduated from SUNY Albany. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and participated in graduate studies at Syracuse University.
She married Ruso H. Perkins on April 6, 1942. He survives her.
She is survived by her children, son Ruso Donald Perkins, New York City; daughter Andrea L. Miller, Marshfield, Mass.; her son-in-law Paul Miller, Marshfield, Mass.; and her grandson, Thomas Byron Miller, Marshfield, Mass.; her sisters, Joan Thurston, Woodstock, and Julie and Charles Snell, Silver Spring, Md.; and several loving nieces and nephews.
In 1937, Jean came to New Berlin to set up the library at New Berlin Central School. She later became the children's librarian in the Cooperstown Elementary School for 18 years.
Pursuing her musical interests throughout her life, Jean taught piano in her home, sang in the St. Andrew's Church Choir and the Catskill Choral Society, traveling to England, Scotland and Boston and performing at Carnegie Hall. After retirement she became the organist at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in New Berlin. She also traveled extensively with her husband, Ruso, throughout the U.S., Europe, and Central and South America.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2003, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, New Berlin, with the Rev. Charles Taylor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Andrew's Cemetery, New Berlin.

Frances B. Coager
HOBART — Frances B. Coager, 85, of Hobart, passed away Monday, March 17, 2003, at Robinson Terrace, Stamford.
She was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Oneonta, the daughter of Lucius G. and Sarah E. (Barlow) Barlow.
She married Herbert Coager on July 3, 1938. He survives, as do three daughters, Arleen (William S.) Benedict, Maryland, Joyce Coager, Hobart, and Brenda Coager, Ulster Park; four grandchildren, William H.S. Benedict and his wife, Lisa Rothwell, Richfield Springs, Melissa Churchill, Cortez, Colo., Jennifer Peters and her husband, Jim, Croghan, and Adrienne Signor, Eagle Bridge; and a sister, Elizabeth Kimball, at The Meadows, Cooperstown.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Lucius (Dick) Barlow and William S. Barlow Sr.
Frances was a member of the Hobart Presbyterian Church where she had taught Sunday School and was part of the Church Women's Group, where she took her turn serving as president. She was also a member of the Hobart Women's Civic Club.
Frances was usually busy, always on time and had boundless energy. She was a fine cook and took great pride in caring for her family and her home. Over the years she looked out for many of her elderly friends and neighbors. She spent several years caring for patients at the South Kortright Nursing Home and retired from the South Kortright Central School where she was part of the cafeteria staff.
She enjoyed bowling on her bowling team and liked to take walks, especially in the sunshine. The birds, her flowers and her cat, Snookie, were important to her. Poetry always had a special place in her heart and she frequently recited favorite poems she had memorized.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 21, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart, with the Rev. Bert More, of the Hobart Presbyterian Church, officiating. Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 20, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be later at Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Leatherstocking Region Office, SUCO, Oneonta, NY 13820, Catskill Area Hospice or Robinson Terrace Recreation Fund.
Arrangements are with the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.
Agnes S. Decker
BURLINGTON FLATS — Agnes S. Decker, 86, of Burlington Flats, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 17, 2003.
Agnes was born June 3, 1916, in Venice Center, the daughter of Edwin and Viola (Green) Sage.
She was married to George Burton Decker. He predeceased her in 1985.
Agnes knew Christ as her savior for more than 70 years and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in New Berlin.
Agnes graduated from the Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, which is now the Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pa. She taught for over 20 years in various Christian Schools, the last being in Bridgewater. In her earlier years she had been employed at the Otsego School in Edmeston.
She was an avid reader, a collector of books and bells, and also loved doing handiwork such as embroidery and needlepoint. Upon reflection: Agnes had an inner everlasting strength, her family was dear to her, and she was always available for them.
Agnes is survived by her children and their spouses, David and Judy Decker, Mary and Ken Lowe, James and Betty Decker, Daniel and Lois Decker, Benjamin Decker, Elizabeth Owens and Timothy Decker; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was one of 13 children, and is survived by three sisters and three brothers.
She was predeceased by six of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Berean Baptist Church, New Berlin, with the Rev. Gary L. Folz officiating. Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 20, 2003, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berean Baptist Church, New Berlin, prior to the service.
Contributions may be made in Agnes S. Decker's memory to either the Edmeston Emergency Squad or the Berean Baptist Church in New Berlin.

Anna I. Wrench
ONEONTA — Mrs. Anna I. Wrench, 76, of Oneonta, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Astoria, Queens, the daughter of John and Minnie (Riley) Antonelli.
She married Robert O. Wrench on July 7, 1951, in Saugerties. Mr. Wrench predeceased her on Nov. 13, 1992.
Anna enjoyed going to the movies with her husband and also traveling.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Jeffrey and Mary Wrench of Oneonta; and her two sisters, Helen Anchor of Port Jefferson, and Patricia Nicholson of Deer Park on Long Island; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Anna I. Wrench will be held on Friday, March 21, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Gary Bonebrake, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, Oneonta, officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2003, at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m., at which time the family will be in attendance.

Phyllis Bianco
GRAND GORGE — Phyllis Bianco, 71, died March 18, 2003, at her home on Ferris Hill Road in Grand Gorge.
She was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Brooklyn, the daughter of John and (Josephine Falco) Pulizzi.
She married Martin Bianco on July 15, 1951, in Brooklyn.
Phyllis was very active in the starting of the Grand Gorge Meal Site at the Grand Gorge Civic Center.
She moved to Grand Gorge from Richmond Hill, Queens, in 1977.
She was a member of St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, Grand Gorge, and a member of Marle B. Dudley American Legion Post Auxiliary.
Phyllis enjoyed arts and crafts, owning her own ceramic store. Her greatest joy was reaching people through her cooking. Everyone that visited would be greeted with a warm cup of coffee or a plate of pasta. People who met Phyllis never left her without a smile. She will be remembered as a person who gave of herself.
She is survived by her husband, Martin Bianco, Grand Gorge; by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Vito Coraci, Plantation, Fla., and Jo-Ann and Kevin Pierce, Oneonta; three grandchildren, Victoria, Veronica and Vito Coraci; sister and brother-in-law, Lena and George DiLeto, Oldsmar, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent and Nicholas Pulizzi.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2003, with the Rev. Anthony Ligato as the celebrant, at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, Grand Gorge.
Burial will be in Roxbury Cemetery, Roxbury.
