Mrs. Dorothy L. Carrigan
CLYDE- Mrs. Dorothy L. Carrigan, 84, of 830 Lockpit
Road died Monday (November 25, 2002) at the Newark
Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness.
There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will
be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the
Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, NY.
Memorial contributions to the Wayne County Hospice
Program, 513 W. Union St., Newark, NY 14513 would be
appreciated.
Mrs. Carrigan was born on March 30, 1918 in West
Carthage, NY. She was the daughter of Merton and Ruth
Egglaston Phillips. She was formerly employed by the
Henry Keep Nursing Home in Watertown, NY. She
moved to Clyde in 1991, following the death of her
husband, Wallace. She was a member of the Order of the
Eastern Star in Sacketts Harbor, NY and of the Rebakah
Lodge in Sacketts Harbor, NY.
Surviving are her son, William Carrigan of Clyde, 8
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Bethany
Campany, her son, John Carrigan, and two grandsons,
Philip Carrigan and Charles Campany.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Baris

Mrs. Nancy M. Bennett
CLYDE- Mrs. Nancy M. Bennett, 61, of 1281 Clyde-
Marengo Rd. died Sunday (December 1, 2002) at Clifton
Springs Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (Dec.
4th) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday (Dec. 5th) at 10 AM in the Clyde United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Searle officiating.
Burial will be in South Butler Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American
Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Palmyra, NY on May 18, 1941.
She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Lilla Brown
Mander. On May 20, 1957 she married Donald Bennett,
and together they have lived in Clyde for the past 45
years.
Surviving are her husband, Donald Bennett Sr. of Clyde,
three daughters, Phyllis (David) Harper of Clyde, Tina
(Thomas) Davis of Junius, and JoAnn (Rickey Noone Sr.)
Bennett of Junius, six sons, Calvin (Trudy Crocker)
Bennett Sr. of Waterloo, Clifford (Penny) Bennett Sr. of
Junius, George (Michele) Bennett of Clyde, Gregory T.
(Wendy) Bennett of Clyde, Donald J. (Katie Laggan)
Bennett of Seneca Falls, and Dana (Tammy) Bennett of
Lyons. two sisters, Wava Sampson of Savannah, and
Doris Gonyeau of Utica, one brother Charles Mander of
Utica, 32 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many
nieces and nephews and numerous foster children and
grandchildren.
Mr. Calvin "Carl" Culver
SAVANNAH- Mr. Calvin "Carl" Culver, 77, of 13071
Messner Rd., died unexpectedly on Monday (Dec. 9th
2002) at his home.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday
(Dec.11th) from 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87
W. Genesee St. Clyde, NY. Funeral services will be held
on Thursday (Dec 12th) at 1PM in the Savannah
Congregational Church w/ the Rev. Maurice McCarthy
officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family
in South Butler Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the
Savannah Ambulance Corps or the Clyde Ambulance
Corps would be appreciated.
Mr. Culver was born in Savannah, NY on May 14, 1925.
He was the son of Lyle and Leona Williams Culver. Carl
served in the US Army during WW ll, serving in
Guadalcanal and on the Island of Tinian. He was a
member of the Savannah American Legion Post. Mr.
Culver was a 56 year member of the IBEW, Local 840,
and had been employed by the Maher Electric Company
of Geneva, NY. He worked on the construction of many
hospitals, schools and malls in western New York. Carl
also served on the Savannah and Clyde-Savannah
School Boards for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Loretta Diehl
Culver of Savannah, 6 children, Leona (Jeffrey) Lauster
of Lyons, NY, April Culver of Irondequoit, Brian (Pam)
Culver of Cambridge, MA, Susan (David) Darrin of
Albany, NY, Rev. Brent (Georgia) Culver of Cicero, NY
and Clark (Kimberly) Culver of Clyde. 11 grandchildren,
Capt. John C. (Margo) Norton, Bradley and Adele
Lauster, Erin and Beth Culver, Hannah Darrin, Joshua,
Caleb, Rachel, Benjamin and Joanna Culver, 1 great-
grandchild, Devin E. Norton. His brother, Robert (Janice)
Culver of North Carolina and his sister-in-law, Roberta M.
Culver of Pottsdam, NY.
He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Adele,
and a brother Paul Culver.
Teresa Lawson Whitt
CLYDE- Mrs. Teresa M. Whitt, 37, of 2632 Powers Rd,
died Thursday (December 19, 2002) at her home in the
comfort and surroundings of her family.
At her request, there will be no prior calling hours.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral
services on Saturday (Dec.21st) at 11AM in the Clyde
United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tim Harben
officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery at the
convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions to the Pluta Cancer Center, 224
Alexander St., Rochester, NY 14607 would be
appreciated.
Teresa was born on November 25, 1965 in Lyons, NY.

Mr. Lloyd S. Carne
CLYDE / PALMYRA- Mr. Lloyd S. Carne, 82, of Vienna
Street, Palmyra died Tuesday (January 28, 2003) at his
residence.
At his request there will be no prior calling hours. Funeral
services will be held at the Heritage Baptist Church, 2367
Palmyra - Marion Rd, Palmyra on Friday (January 31,st)
at 11 AM. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove
Cemetery, Clyde.
Mr. Carne was born in Gorham, ME on March 13, 1920.
He was the son of William and Florence Clark Carne.
Lloyd was a decorated pilot serving in the Air Force
during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He
had been a past employee of the Xerox Corporation in
Webster, NY. and was an avid mink farmer. Mr. Carne
had lived in Palmyra for the past 4 years.
Surviving are three sons, Stanley (Caryl) Carne of Clyde,
Jerre (Jennifer) Carne of Simpsonville, SC, and Chris
Carne of Simpsonville, SC, two daughters, Camellia Cole
of Greenville, SC and Daphne (Scott) Bashor of
Greenville, SC one sister, Margaret Poole of Wheaton, IL,
and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Baris
Funeral Home, Clyde, NY.
Vivian T. DeLeo
CLYDE- Vivian T. DeLeo, 88, formerly of 141 W.
Genesee St., died Saturday (February 19, 2005) at the
DeMay Living Center in Newark following an extended
illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday (Feb.23rd) from
5-7 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee St.,
Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday
(Feb. 24th) at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church
with Fr. James Hewes officiating
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.

Mr. DeLeo was born in Clyde, NY on June 15, 1916. He
was the son of Frank and Catherine Santoli DeLeo. Viv
attended schools in Clyde, and then served in the US
Army during World War II. Mr. DeLeo retired from the
Clyde Elementary school where had been employed as
head custodian for over 15 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Clyde, and had been a
member of St. John the Evangelist Church, an active
member of the Clyde VFW Post # 947, a past member of
the Clyde Lions Club, and the Clyde Fire Department.
In 1977 he was predeceased by his wife, Leanna Falls
DeLeo.
Surviving are two children, his daughter Mrs. Paula
(Terry) Sheehe of Newark, and his son, Mr. Gene
(Wanda) DeLeo of Washington, DC. His
brothers, Henry (Betty) DeLeo of Clyde and Frank
(Gloria) DeLeo of Clyde and one sister, Mrs. Mary Jane
(Chester) Avoli of Clyde, 6 grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by 3 brothers,
Philip, Anthony and Joseph and 2 sisters, Annie Jones
and Nellie DeLeo.
