Mrs. Adelene "Addie" Konik, 82, passed away Saturday at Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown She was born August 18, 1926 in Endicott, NY, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Picciano Mastrangelo-Roach. She was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School. Following her marriage August 21, 1948 to John C. Konik Sr., she relocated to Gloversville in 1952, where she spent most of her life. A homemaker until her children were adolescent, she was active in Brownies and was a Girl Scout Leader while her daughters were young. She was active in PTA and volunteering at Gloversville Little League baseball throughout her children's school years. Addie was a sales clerk at the former Britts Department Store and for many years she was a buyer and manager in housewares at the former Argersinger Department Store in Gloversville until retirement.

A dependable and devoted volunteer, Addie was a member of Sacred Heart Church and served as president of the rosary society for many years. She also was a long time member of Nathan Littauer Hospital Auxiliary and various other community groups. Following her husband's retirement in 1986, they enjoyed many years spending winter in Port Charlotte, FL where they continued forming new friendships and enjoying retirement. Perhaps her greatest joy was family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she spent a great deal of time.

Her husband, John C. Konik, Sr. pre-deceased her November 10, 2007.

Survivors include her children: John C. (Connie) Konik of Caroga Lake, Jan Marie Konik of Endicott, NY and Barbara Ann (Neil) Theiss of Katy, Texas. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia (Francis) Lopata of Charlotte, NC and her grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Daniel, Jonathon, Ariel and Alexander, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Addie was pre-deceased by a sister, Margaret Roach and two brothers, Paul Roach and the Honorable Camille M. Roach.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Thursday at Sacred Heart Church with the Very Reverend Donald Czelusniak, Pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-6 pm at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Wells Nursing Home Activities Department, 201 W. Madison Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095 or to J.A.V.A.C., 231 N. Perry Street, Johnstown, NY 12095.

Linda J. DeRocker
Born in Gloversville, NY on Feb. 19, 1947
At Rest Sep. 14, 2008 and resided in Mayfield, NY.

Mrs. Linda J. DeRocker died Sunday, September 14, 2008 following a long illness. Her loving husband was at her side.

She was born February 19, 1947 to Mildred Wemple Ellithorpe and the late John "Bob" Ellithorpe.

Linda married the love of her life on August 22, 1965, Roger M. DeRocker who survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Jennifer Blowers (Terence) of Caroga Lake and Tracey Halloran (Daniel) of Broadalbin; her five adoring grandchildren, Clara, Ian, Aileen, Sadie and Tavien; her mother, Mildred Ellithorpe of Mayfiled; her sisters Amy Seeley of Gloversville and Merry Ann Ellithorpe of New Hampshire. Linda also leaves behind several other family members and friends that were special to her.

Linda's passions were taking all day Sunday to make her family a beautiful meal, baking with her grandchildren, vacationing in Maine, shopping for her grandchildren and Christmas. Her artistic abilities were in her sewing. Her embroidery and quilt work is truly amazing and will always be treasured.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin, with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Antonia D. Jeffries
Born in Sparta, Greece on Dec. 29, 1917

Mrs. Antonia Dededimous Jeffries, age 90 of Gloversville, died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Gloversville.

She was born December 29, 1917 in Sparta, Greece, the daughter of the late Yannis and Eleni Dededimous. She came to this country in 1961 and lived in Florida until she was married in 1963 to Peter T. Jeffries. They lived in Herkimer until Mr. Jeffries died on October 3, 2003. Following her husband's death Mrs. Jeffries moved to Gloversville to live with her cousin Panagiota Anagnost and her husband Danny.

Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Sts. Theodoroi Greek Orthodox Church of Gloversville and St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church of Albany.

Survivors include a brother, Kouli Dededimous of Greece; two sisters: Haroula Kalimeiri and Matoula, both of Greece; a sister-in-law, Theodora Sfikas and her husband George of Rochester; many nieces, nepehws and cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A Trisagion Service will take place 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sts. Theodoroi Greek Orthodox Church, Gloversville, with the Rev. Fr. Patric Legato officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Theodoroi Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Washington St; Gloversville, NY 12078.

Norma J. Barry
Born in Ticonderoga on Nov. 19, 1924
At Rest Sep. 24, 2008 and resided in Mayfield, NY.

Graveside Service: Private

Barry, Norma, 83, died peacefully Wednesday, September 24 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Donations may be made in Norma's memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave. Gloversville, 12078.

Harold Kettler
Born in Fort Plain on Feb. 9, 1930

Harold Kettler died Tuesday, September 23, 2008. He was born on February 9, 1930, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Bowdish) Kettler in Ft. Plain. He attended Kaleidoscope Day Hab and resided at the Indian Road IRA since April of 2002.
He loved the outdoors and being in the sunshine, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, card games and music, especially Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. He will be dearly missed by his sister, and all of his friends and staff at the Lexington Center.
Harold is survived by his sister, Ruth J. Quinn of Gloversville.
Family and friends are invited and may call at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, Thursday, September 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in Harold's memory to the Lexington Center, 465 North Perry Street. Johnstown, NY 12095.

Sheila E. Loux
Born in Gloversville on Nov. 15, 1947
At Rest Sep. 19, 2008 and resided in Johnstown, NY.

Mrs. Sheila E. Abel Loux, age 60 of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, with her family at her side.

She was born November 15, 1947 in Gloversville, NY at Nathan Littauer Hospital the daughter of Nelle (Smith) Abel and the late Richard L. Abel. Sheila was a graduate of Gloversville High School and went on to continue her education at Southern Wesleyan University for two years and also spent one year at Allentown Bible College. Sheila went on to obtain her LPN certification at BOCES and became a nurse at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was also employed at Greenville Memorial hospital in South Carolina for several years.

Mrs. Loux enjoyed singing and had a love for music. She was said to have "loved her son too much".

She was married January 12, 1974 to Ronald J. Loux Sr. who died on August 31, 2000. Survivors include one son: Ronald J. Loux Jr. of Johnstown; her mother Nelle Abel of Johnstown; one sister Sharon L. Sweet (John) of Princeton, NJ; twin brothers Richard W. Abel (Lynn) of West Springfield, MA and Leigh R. Abel (Michelle) of Colonie, NY. Sheila is also survived by three Aunts and one Uncle, as well as several Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Free Methodist Church, Gloversville. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, NY. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sheila's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 421 New Karner Rd, Suite 6, Albany, NY 12205.
