Arthur W. Foote Jr, 61, of Avery Road, Stratford, NY, passed away early Saturday morning May 3rd 2008 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY.
Born in New Haven Ct. on March 18, 1947 a son of Arthur W. and Lenora McAvoy Foote Sr. Mr. Foote was raised in New Haven, CT and was a graduate of Eli Whitney Technical School in Hamden, CT in 1965. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War serving from 1965 to 1969.
Mr. Foote was employed by Pratt and Witney Aircraft in Hartford, CT for a time. He also owned his own truck for many years working out of Clinton Ct. as a truck driver. He last was employed for M & A Transport of Guilford, CT.
Arthur was an avid outdoorsman and loved being on or near the water. He at one time worked at Louis Marine in Westbrook, CT. He also enjoyed gardening and just being with his family.
He married Bliss R. Glynn-Foote on February 19, 1989. In addition to his wife survivor's include, Three sons, Jacob Foote, Thomas Foote and Arthur "Artie" William Foote III of Little Falls, NY. One step-daughter, Abigail Glynn of Evansville, Indiana. Three brothers, Daniel Foote, Charles Foote and John Foote. Three sisters, Carolyn Cassidy, Beverly DeMio and Leslie Witter. One grandchild, Caleb Alexander Eatmon. Mother in Law, Kathleen A. Glynn of Portland, CT. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday May 17, 2008 at 10:30A.M. at in Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook Ct. with full military honors. There are no calling hours. Cremation took place at Vale Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY 12072.

Pasquale D'Errico
Born in Gloversville, New York on Aug. 27, 1925
At Rest Dec. 14, 2007 and resided in Los Angeles, CA.

Mr. Pasquale D'Errico, 82 years old of Los Angeles, California, died Friday at the nursing home where he had been a resident for the past few years. He was born August 27, 1925 in Gloversville, NY, one of ten children of Marie Antonio Javarone D'Errico and Tammaro D'Errico. Mr. D'Errico was a graduate of Gloversville High School and enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1944. Pasquale was a dedicated paper carrier during his youth, with the former Leader Republican newspaper, winning an award as their top seller of US War Bonds.
He moved to the Los Angeles area in the early 1950's and was employed by the US Postal Service for a number of years.
Mr. D'Errico is survived by one brother, Anthony D'Errico of Ocala, Florida and two sisters-in law, Edith D'Errico and Pippina D'Errico both of Schenectady. Nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his twin brother Augustine in 1971 and brothers Joseph, Thomas and Frank D'Errico, as well as four sisters, Josie and Cella D'Errico, Lucy Roy and Speranza Naish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 17 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Gloversville. Burial sill follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. There was no calling or viewing period. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home.

Roland R. Johnson
Born in Gloversville, New York on Apr. 24, 1939

Mr. Roland R. "Butch" Johnson, 69 of Fonda, died Thursday at his residence. Mr. Johnson was born April 24, 1939 in Gloversville. He was the son of the late Roland R. and Betty Rickmyer Johnson. He was educated in Gloversville schools and employed for the last 16 years as a metal cutter for Keymark in Fonda. Mr. Johnson was also employed earlier in life at area leather mills, mostly Schaffel Tanning, and at various taverns including Flynn's and the Magic Lantern. A former bowler, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well. "Butch" as he was known, enjoyed eating at area restaurants and was an avid wrestling fan He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was always involved with his family. A life long John Wayne fan, "Butch" enjoyed many movies throughout his life. "The Duke" and his cat "Susie" were a big part of his life and shared with the devotion to all his family.

Survivors include his children: Robert C. (Nancy) Johnson of Fonda, Carla S. (Art) Johnson of Gloversville, Faye E. (Ed) Johnson of Coxsackie, Beth A. (Darrin) Richards of Gloversville and Vera S. (Martin) Johnson of Johnstown. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Dillenbeck of Ephratah, a half-sister Vicky Johnson of Boston, a half-brother, John Johnson of Gloversville, nieces, nephews and his grandchildren: Brandie, Amber, Jasmin, William, Destanee and Tyler.

A family service will take place at 2pm Monday at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 noon to 2pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery with a Balloon Release Ceremony. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the James Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd. Gloversville, or to SOCKS (Save our Cats, Kittens and Strays) P.O. Louis A. DiPalma
Born in Gloversville, NY on Dec. 12, 1919

Mr. Louis A. "Lou" DiPalma, age 88 of Gloversville, died Monday evening, May 12, 2008 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville.

Lou was born December 12, 1919 in Gloversville, the son of the late Anthony and Nancy Liuzzi DiPalma. He was a 1937 graduate Gloversville High School, and later entered the automotive field. He worked at several local automobile dealerships including Farhart Buick and Pontiac, Rose Buick and B. Caringe Chevrolet. He graduated from General Motors Institute at Flint, Michigan in 1949.

Prior to WWII, he was employed at the Watervliet Arsenal as a civilian employee and was awarded the U.S. Navy Award for Excellence. He returned to Gloversville and was employed by the N.Y.S. Division for Youth at Tryon School with the High Horizons program, from which he retired in 1982 as an instructor with many hats.

His favorite sports were Baseball, Football, Bowling and Hunting.

On April 26, 1941 he married Arlene Horning, and was happily married for 62 years. They were inseparable, enjoying much traveling throughout the U.S. and into Canada and Mexico. They also enjoyed having Katrina, a "Fresh Air Child" for many summers and holidays. She continued to keep in touch with him after 60 years. Arlene joined her parents, twin-sister Irene, her brother and her Lord on December 24, 2002.

In 1946, Lou joined the Fremont Street United Methodist Church of Gloversville (now Foothills Church), where he faithfully served for many years in many ways. He was a member and Vice President of the "Chevrolet Only The Best Club" for several years, also a member of the Gloversville Senior Citizens Club, the 55 Plus Club and the former Gloversville Red Mens Club. He was also a member of the Gloversville Police Dept. Auxiliary under Police Chief Louis Fish and Lt. Loren Baker until its disbandment.

At F.M.C.C. he taught Women's Automobile Mechanics classes which were sponsored by the Women's Insurance Group of Fulton County.

He is survived by his sister Julia Tropia of Gloversville, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Granito and his brothers Andrew and Mario DiPalma.

Lou always considered himself very fortunate in having had a good life, a wonderful wife, good family, friends and neighbors. Always willing to help when needed, he believed that The Lord will care for him, and he will be with his loved ones forever.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday. Interment will take place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army, 10 Spring St; Gloversville, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, or to the Arlene Horning DiPalma Music Scholarship Fund at Gloversville High School, 199 Lincoln St; Gloversville, NY 12078.

Robert H. Teetz
Born in Gloversville, New York on Jan. 8, 1929
At Rest May 16, 2008 and resided in Gloversville, NY.

Robert H. Teetz, 79, passed away Friday May 16, 2008 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
He was born in Gloversville on January 8, 1929 the son of the late Julius and Gladys (Bergman) Teetz.
A lifelong resident of Gloversville, Bob was a sole proprietor. He produced firewood and topsoil. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. Bob was known by many as a very unique person. He was ingenious. He was an improviser that could make anything. Bob was also a great storyteller. He enjoyed being at home on his farm and with his cats.
Survivors include his lifelong companion, Caroline Hilpertshauser of Spring Hill, FL; her children: Lynn Hilpertshauser and her child of Saratoga Springs and Glenn Hilpertshauser and his four children of Hudson Falls; his longtime friends, otherwise known as his "Girls": April Hebert of Gloversville, Renee Shutts of California and Bambi Bonfey of Mayfield. He is also survived by his beloved cats Boliver and Max.
Calling hours will be Monday May 19 from 5 to 8pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Elaiani Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Helping Paws Rescue, 140 Old State Road, Broadalbin, NY 12025.

Orville H. Hubbs
Born in Gloversville, New York on Jun. 22, 1914
At Rest Feb. 12, 2008 and resided in Town of Johnstown, NY.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, May 21, 2008
Cemetery: Prospect Hill Cemetery

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 21 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Rev. David Almleaf will officiate the service.
