LAEUFER Diana Basinger Laeufer, age 69, of Columbus, passed away Monday, February 5, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born March 27, 1931 in Lima, Oh., the daughter of the late Dr. Harvey L. and Bettye Clark Basinger. She was a graduate of Laurel School For Girls, Cleveland, Oh. and University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta. She retired from U.S. Census Bureau in 1997. Previously, she was a hematologist at O.S.U. and Children's Hospital, Columbus. She was an entrepreneur in the fast food industry-owning the second Taco Bell east of the Mississippi River. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eric B. and Sarah Laeufer; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and John Welsh, all of Columbus; granddaughters, Sarah, Maddie, Linda and Heather; mother-in-law, Madeleine Laeufer; sisters, Linda Laeufer Basinger, Lima, OH., Martha Carmean, Bellefontaine, OH. Diana was preceded in death by her husband Barney J. Laeufer in 1986 and brother H. Taggart Basinger in 1992. She was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and also a member of Twig # 69, Children's Hospital. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2001 at St. Johns's Episcopal Church, 700 High Street, Worthington. Dr. Arthur Hadley officiating. Committal service 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Oh. For those who wish, contributions may be made to Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Oh. 43214, in her memory.

LANE Herbert James Lane, age 76, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2001 at Laurels of Worthington. He loved billiards and participated in several billiard leagues. Preceded in death by son James H. Lane. Survived by wife of 32 years, Carol; daughters, Vicki (Chris) Davis of Gahanna and Virginia McCrary of Delaware; sons, Stacy Lane of Columbus, Douglas Grashel and Jorge Grashel; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne (Don) Poreman; brothers, Butch, David and Ted; many nieces and nephews. LEWIS Kenneth John Lewis, age 68, Monday, February 5, 2001 at Columbus West Park. Retired after 25 years at Columbus Paperbox Co. Member Livingston United Methodist Church since 1962. Veteran U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, assigned to the operation and maintenance of the Panama Canal zone. Survived by wife of 38 years, Nina; daughter, Julia (Randal) Culbertson; grandchildren, Rachel, Sara, Emily, Kathleen, Bethaney and Dustin; brothers and sisters, James Lewis, Nancy Judd, H.D. Lewis ad Mary Lou (Frank) Parenteau; aunts, Lela Shell, Louise (George) Manning and Bessie Tyson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. LONG Dorothy L. Long, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at her home. Survived by husband, Malvin Long; children, Laura (Mike) Knudsen, Lisa (Olivier) Boinais, Eric (MiSoon) Terhune, Adam (Leslie) Terhune, Angie (Chris) Watkins, and Malvin T. Long; grandchildren, Nick, Tatiana, Zacharie, Cheyenne, Elliott, Brianna, and Leah; great-granddaughter, Madison; sister, Rebecca Frazier. MASDEA Lillian B. Masdea, age 65, departed this life Sunday February 4, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Born June 8, 1935. She is preceded in death by parents James and Angela Bellinfante and granddaughter Lauren Howe. She leaves to cherish her memory six devoted children, Ann, Angela, Ted, Theresa, John, and Jim; sisters, Marie Ziobro and Judy Davis; 14 loving grandchildren, Jonathan 17, Jennifer 16, Tyler 14, Ryan 13, Ian 10, James 10, Jessica 8, Gina 8, Justine 7, Jordan 6, Anna 6, Anthony 5, Sarah 5, and Michael 3; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and all who loved her. MAYHON Troy Mayhon, age 64, of Bexley, passed away February 5, 2001. He was born September 5, 1936 in Lenore, W.Va. Retired from General Electric in June of 1998 after 17 years of service. Member The Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents Gracie (Bartrum) Mayhon Gilman and Kim Mayhon, 1936, step-dad Burl Gilman Sr. Survived by wife, Birdie (Canterbury) Mayhon; son, Troy Lynn (Arletta) Mayhon of Fairborn, Oh.; daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Foster of Colorado Springs, Colo.; step-son, Chris Marcum at home; step-brother, Burl Gilman, Jr. of Ripley, W.Va.; sister, Janet G. MIHALKA Marguerite Kelser Mihalka, age 88, February 4, 2001 of Columbus. Born in Westerville, Oh. Preceded in death by husband Joseph A. Mihalka, sister Lucy Kelser Hatch. Survived by son, Josef Alexander Mihalka. Graduate of The Ohio State University and active member of North Broadway United Methodist Church since 1952. Taught in Columbus Public Schools, as well as in Medina, Mayfield Heights, Lima and Westerville. MILLER Robert K. Miller, 60, of Columbus, died Saturday February 3, 2001 in Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Preceded in death by first wife Raccine, father Albert, brothers Carlton and Rodney. MUNDAY Mildred Brand Munday, of Clintonville, 82, died February 4, 2001. She was born in Lynchbury, Va. to the late Cary P. and Mina Crank Munday. She was preceded in death by her brother Clarence and her sister Virginia. She served her country during the Second World War, attaining the rank of Captain. She was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Women's College (B.A.), Smith College (M.A.) and the University of Wisconsin (Ph.D.). Professor Emerita of English at The Ohio State University, she specialized in Shakespearean studies and women in literature. Co-founder of the Center for Women's Studies at OSU, she was a champion of equal rights and advocate for social justice. Her cogent letters were frequently published in the Columbus Dispatch. McDONALD Michael L. McDonald, 24, of Columbus, died Sunday February 4, 2001. Preceded in death by grandparents Emery L. and Charlotte A. Kuhn, Lee McDonald, uncle Emery L. Kuhn Jr. Survived by parents, Patty A.(John W.) Lutz; sisters, Amy McDonald, Megan Lutz; brother, John Emery Lutz; grandmother, Gerri McDonald; step-father, Gary J. NAU James H. Nau, age 79, February 4, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Ada Louise and Henry Walter Nau. Retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing Company after 36 years. NUNN Erma Lee Nunn, age 75, of Galloway, passed away late Monday, February 5, 2001 at Mount Carmel Medical Center. Born in Freeburn, Ky., Mrs. Nunn was the daughter of the late Mary and Jessie Daugherty. Erma was a strong believer in God and attended church regularly. Erma is survived by her husband of 12 years, Owen; children, Gloria Jean (Steve) Yamasaki of Bardstown, KY, Helen Elaine Newman of Columbus, James Bruce (Beverly) Mounts of Westerville, Connie L. Mounts of Powell, Kenneth Ray Mounts of Hilliard and John Richard Mounts of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline (Jim) Kelly, Lorrain (Jack) Congrove and Juanita (Hank) Spencer; brother, Bill Daugherty; various nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. OSWALD Bernice Emily (Shomber) Oswald, age 85, of Upper Arlington, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Whetstone Care Center. She was born January 19, 1916 in Spokane, WA. She was married to James J. Oswald on October 5, 1940. They moved from Park Ridge, IL to Upper Arlington in 1964, where she lived until five years ago when she moved to Westminster/Thurber Retirement Community. She attended Northwestern University. She worked as an Executive Secretary for the track coaches in The Ohio State University Athletic Department in the late 1960's and 1970's. She was an active volunteer at both Riverside Methodist Hospital and The Ohio State University Medical Center for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Jim in 1999. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Thomas J. and Carol Oswald; daughter and son-in-law, Mari-jean and Richard Siehl; grandchildren, Kristin and Jimmy Oswald. Friends may call Thursday, February 8, 2001 from 6-8:00 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road.
