Phillip Greeson, GE designer
Phillip "Jerry" Greeson, 57, a retired engineering designer with GE Aircraft Engines in Evendale, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.
Mr. Greeson, of Erlanger, Ky., studied aeronautical technical training at the University of Cincinnati.
An Army veteran, Mr. Greeson coached Knothole baseball and played guitar for the Vineyard Fellowship Church.
He also leaves his wife, C. Marie Napier Greeson; daughter, Michele Greeson Hughes; mother, Margaret Greeson McCoy; sister, Linda McCoy Gifford; brothers, Larry LaCally and Mike McCoy; and four grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, Ky. Visitation: 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Joseph Wood, Cheviot civic leader
Joseph A. Wood, former clerk of the Cheviot City Council, died Monday. He was 82.
Mr. Wood served as clerk of council for five years and ran for Green Township trustee. He served on the Hamilton County Rural Zoning Commission for five years and was a member of the Cheviot Democratic Club, the Cheviot Fire Association (Goldenaires) and the Cheviot Civic Association.
He leaves his wife, Louise; son, Dan Wood of Cleves; daughters Diane Rowley of Bridgetown and Kathleen Gilgrist of Monfort Heights; brother, William F. Wood of Amelia, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ruth E. Endicott, beautician
Ruth E. Endicott believed it was never too late to make a major change in her life.
A former resident of Dayton, Ky., Mrs. Endicott, 88, of Port Orange, Fla., died Friday in Daytona Beach, Fla.
For a number of years, Mrs. Endicott worked with her husband, George Endicott Sr., in the operation of Endicott's Market in Dayton.
"One day out of a clear sky she said she wanted to be a beautician, that she had wanted to be a beautician since early in her life," said her son, Robert Endicott.
In her mid-40s at the time,Mrs. Endicott attended beauty school and launched a lengthy career as a beautician, working at salons in downtown Cincinnati, including Pogue's Department Store, her son said.
His mother received two national awards for hairstyling during her career, Endicott said.
Mrs. Endicott also had an artistic side. She collected antique dolls and made miniature dolls and their clothing. She specialized in hand-crafted clothespin dolls and donated many of her projects to charitable groups, her son said.
In 1979, Mrs. Endicott and her husband retired to Ocala, Fla. Mr. Endicott died in 1982. She moved to Point Orange, Fla., a year ago.
Besides her son Robert, a former area and national newspaperman, of Port Orange, Fla.; survivors include another son, George Endicott Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Lucille Breslin of Cincinnati and Sister Mary Therese Pike C.C.P.S. of Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westwood United Methodist Church in Westwood. Visitation: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Bolton and Lunsford Funeral Home is in charge.

Dolores Summe took care of nuns
Dolores Summe, who worked as a volunteer taking care of sick and elderly nuns after she retired, died Friday.
Ms. Summe, 75, retired from the Kroger Co. in 1985 after 18 years with the company and volunteered at Mother Margaret Hall at Mount St. Joseph.
A resident of Cheviot, she had lived in the same house since the age of 2. She was a member of the Cheviot Civic Club, Local Union 1099 Retiree Club.
She leaves her husband, Herb; two sons, William of Monfort Heights and Donald of Price Hill; two daughters, Jo Ann Blazer of Delhi Township and Sandra Walls of Covedale; and nine grandchildren.

Christine F. Chapman, of Green Township, former member of the Cincinnati Board of Health and long-time senior services director at St. Leo's Catholic Church in North Fairmount, died Friday at Francis-Western Hills Campus. She was 65.
Mrs. Chapman, mother of 12, and a former resident of North Fairmount, also spent many years in community services.
Survivors include her husband, James; four daughters, Virginia Huffman of Colerain Township; Linda Ball of Farmington, Mo.; Margie Collins of Monfort Heights and Mary Chapman of Bridgetown; eight sons, James Chapman II of North Fairmount; Charles Chapman of Norwood; Raymond Chapman of Ft. Wright; Roger Chapman and Paul Chapman of Colerain Township; Greg Chapman of Harrison; John Chapman of Bridgetown and Mark Chapman of Cheviot; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
