WATSON John C. Watson, 85, of Pataskala, died Saturday, March 31,2001. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at KAUBER-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, with Rev. G.F. Peters officiating. Burial will be in Pataskala Cemetery. Mr. Watson was born at home May 7, 1915 on a farm north of Kirkersville, to the late Rex and D. Lucille Wilson Watson. He farmed all his life, worked at North American, the Pennsylvania Railroad, and an Auctioneer for 50 years. Owned and operated Granville Livestock Saleyards, past president of Ohio Auctioneers Association, served on Pataskala Council for 12 years, served on Board of Public Affairs for Pataskala, member of Pataskala Masonic Lodge F&AM #404, member of Pataskala Methodist Church, and associated with Bruce Baird Realty for many years. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Watson; five daughters, Mary Jane Dawson of Wharton, Tx., Dixie (Ron) Sager of Kirkersville, Joan (Bill) Love of Granville, Martha (Bob) Adams of Grove City, Pat (Fred) Barnhill of Pataskala; one brother, William Watson of Granville; three sisters, Kathryn Fankhauser of W.Va., Virginia Lees of Alexandria, and Jeanne Philabaum of Pataskala; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Watson was a faithful husband, strong and loving father. He tried to always lead an honest life and was always learning and taught many auctioneers their profession. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2001 at the funeral home. There will be an 8 p.m. Masonic service after the calling hours.

WELLS Catherine P. Wells, born February 14, 1923, died March 30, 2001 at Doctors Hospital West. Preceded in death by husband of 56 years Bennie Wells and grandson David "Randy" Wells. Survived by sons, Richard (Helen) and Kenneth (Patricia) Wells; daughter, Charlene (James) Greene; grandchildren, Rebecca (Robert) Schilling, Judi Greene (Gary) Young, James Greene, Robyn (Rob) Hewitt, Amanda Wells; great-grandchildren, Adam, Heather, Brandon, Kristin Schilling; brother, Pat (Jewell) Manno; brothers-in-law, Robert (Anna Mae) Wells, Johnny Wells; sisters-in-law, Della Welsh, Wilma Wells; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Bea Lucas; and childhood friend, Theadora Smith. Her beloved cats, Kipi and Koko. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 West Broad St., Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday. Pastor Ray Rosenthal officiating. WELLS Roger Wells, age 62, of Westerville, Friday, March 30, 2001 at home. Retired Assistant Director of Columbus Recreation and Parks, registered Landscape Architect. Graduate of the Ohio State University. Member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Whitehall-Bexely Rotary Club and past District Governor of Rotary District 6690. Survived by wife, Susie; daughter, Lesa (Rick) Haas of Westerville; son, Keith (Drema) Wells of Worthington; granddaughters, Lauren, Ashley, Tawny and Tessa Wells, Megan and Erin Haas. Preceded in death by parents George and Alma Wells. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Pataskala Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Rotary Foundation, Hospice at Riverside/Grant or Easter Seals of Central and Southeast Ohio, Inc. Wake service Monday at 9 p.m.

WHITEMAN Dorothy Cookson Whiteman, age 79, of Columbus. Dottie passed from this world on March 17, 2001 at Heartland Healthcare Center. Preceded in death by husband Robert. Former member of Clintonville Women's Club. Survived by sons, Robert and Fred of Columbus; sister, Ruth Riley Drake of Buckeye Lake; 2 grandchildren. Graveside ceremony will be held at Glen Rest Estates in Reynoldsburg, Oh. at 3 p.m. on Sunday April 1, 2001.

WILSON Ira Joe Hinton Wilson, 68, Monday, March 26, 2001, OSU Hospital. Self-employed Construction Worker. He loved his family and enjoyed gardening and decorating. He leaves to cherish his memory of a very loving family and many friends. Service 1 p.m. Monday, April 2nd, Chapel of WAYNE T. LEE FUNERAL SERVICE, 1370 E. Main St. Rev. WINE June E. Wine, age 74, of Columbus, and formerly of Laurelville, passed away Friday, March 30, 2001, at Doctor's North Hospital in Columbus. She was an aid for the Columbus Public Schools, served as the secretary for several area churches, former President of the PTA, and was a graduate of Laurelville High School. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Gertrude (Pugh) Pasco, and her husband John. C. Wine. Survived by her children, Charles Richard (Janet) Wine, James Forrest (Patricia) Wine, both of South Bloomingville, John David (Wanda) Wine, Columbus, Jeffrey R. (Cindy) Wine, McArthur, Elizabeth Marlene (Allen) Kelley, Columbus, and Steven Alan (Mary) Wine, Logan; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde Stinard, Laurelville; sister, Alice Steel, Circleville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 2, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 151 E. Main St., Circleville, with Rev. Ben Edwards officiating. Interment to follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, South Bloomingville. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Liver Foundation in care of the funeral home.

WINTERS Wilma J. Winters, 74, of East Moline, Ill., formerly of Columbus, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill. Wilma was born January 5, 1927 in Columbus, Oh. the daughter of John H. and Ruth W. McCord Billingsley. Survivors include a daughter, Margi Winters, Hartford, Conn.; sons, Jim "Kim" Winters, Bettendorf, Iowa, Kipp Winters, Plant City, Fl.; and 6 grandchildren. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington, Oh. WHEELAN FUNERAL HOME, Rock Island, Ill. (309)786-5421 is in charge of arrangments.

BAKER John (Jack) Milton Baker, died March 30, 2001. He was the son of Stanley M. and Anna Joyce Baker. Former General Manager of Columbus Motor Car Co. He graduated from Castle Heights military Academy, Tennessee and attended the University of Notre Dame. Served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant during World War II. Member of the Columbus Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce Baker Guthrie. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cole Baker and children, Ellen (Robert) Peterson, Columbus, John (Christiane) Baker, Jr., Philadelphia, Pa., Donna (John) Mahon, Columbus, and Marjorie (Scott) McCray, Cary, N.C.; 6 grandchildren, J.D. and Michael Mahon, Allison Emily and Maggie McCray, Caroline Baker; sister Ann B. Cuenin, Chevy Chase, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BAUMANN (CULP) Nancy A. Baumann, age 53, Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Grant Hospital after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Member of St. Andrews Women's Club, St. Charles Mother's Club and volunteer for numerous charitable activities. Preceded in death by father Robert M. Culp. Survived by husband, Michael J.; daughter, Carrie (Andrew) Reis; sons, Patrick (Meredith), Christopher "C.J."; grandchildren, Jacob, Bess and Michael Reis; mother, Bertha E. Culp; brothers, Robert and Joseph Culp; sister, Joan Hoye; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Mary Lee Damron. BISSANTZ Charles "Fred" Bissantz, age 70, of Thornville, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2001 at his residence. Born May 27, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Erma (Warwick) Bissantz. He was self employed as a jeweler. Survived by his wife, Alice L. Bissantz of the home; son Dirk W. Bissantz of Thornville; and daughters Janet L. (Paul) Street of Day Ridge, Ky., Linda L. (James C.) Lutz of Hilliard, and Annette S. Bissantz of Carroll Stream, Il.; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Columbus with Rev. Bob Gibson officiating. BROUSE Jon D. Brouse Sr., 69 years, passed away March 31, 2001, in Delaware, Oh. Born in Akron, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Army in the First Cavalry. He belonged to Local # 894 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Brouse is survived by His wife, Dorothy of Delaware, Ohio; son, John Jr. of Akron; daughters, Martha Vance of Magnetic Springs, Cynthia Nelson of Hartville, and Kathleen Carlson of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grand children; brother, Michael Brouse and sister, Margaret Stricklen.
