Malachi Luethje

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Malachi Ethan Luethje, 3 months; will be held at 2 p.m., Friday March 26, 2004, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mulberry Cemetery in Adair County under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Ridge, Charles Shade, Frank Brown Jr. and Cesar Medina.

Malachi was born Dec. 14, 2003, to Bethany Luethje and Joshua Grass in Tahlequah, and passed from this life on Monday, March 22, 2004, in Tahlequah, after reaching the age of three months and eight days. Malachi was a happy baby. He loved to cuddle and be loved. He loved to listen to music and loved to "talk." His beautiful smile and cheerful personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother and father, Bethany Luethje and Joshua Grass, both of Tahlequah; his half-brother, Josiah Luethje of Tahlequah; his grandparents, Rebecca and Charles Shade of Tahlequah, and Frank and Serita Brown of Stilwell; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his other sister and brother; his other grandparents; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.

Mary Jane Meigs

PARK HILL -- Graveside services for Mary Jane Meigs will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Ross Cemetery at Park Hill, with Brother David Blake officiating. Interment is under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Mary Jane was born Sept 1, 1930, to Mr. and Mrs. Cooie Miegs Sr. of Park Hill, and claimed eternal life on Tuesday, March 23, 2004.

Mary attended the Park Hill Presbyterian Church, Church of Christ and Boudinot Baptist. She became a life member of Park Hill Baptist. She loved history, spelling and reading. She graduated Bagley High School in 1949. The Bible, which she read dozens of times, was her strength and joy.

She is survived by siblings, Jewell Mahaney, Cooie John Meigs Jr. and Frances Goodnight; nieces and nephews, Belinda McCormick, James Mahaney, Mike and David Meigs, Elise Nolan, Autumn Gladd, Susan Jordan, Retta Gayle Meigs, Terence Meigs, Kathy Kaad and Phil Goodnight, and their respective families.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests living memorials made in Mary's name to the Gideon Bible Society. These may be made at the service or in care of Cooie Meigs Jr., P.O. Box 250, Park Hill, Okla., 74451.

Gerald Potts Jr.

LOST CITY -- Services for Gerald Potts, 73, of Hulbert, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2004, in the Keener Church at Lost City, with Jerry Henson officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Hulbert, under the care of Green Country Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are grandsons Ray Potts, David Potts, Michael Spears, Tony Potts, Justin Potts, Robert Crook, Rolland Crook, Jimmy Wayne Potts and Terry Allen Foster.

Gerald Potts was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Hulbert, the son of John Clayton and Genevia (Stevens) Potts. He passed from this life on March 24, 2004, at Moody's Oklahoma.

Gerald is survived by four sons and their wives, Dean and Ida Potts of Hulbert, Jimmy and Sandy Potts of Okay, and Pat and Pam Potts and Herbert Potts of Lost City; four daughters and their husbands, Donna Spears and Robert Phillips of Woodall, Judy and Robert Webster of Moodys, Felicia and Ronnie Davis of Welling, and Rhonda Potts of Wagoner; five brothers, Burley Potts and wife Linda of Lost City, Phil Potts of Peggs, Jackie Potts of Peggs, Brady Potts of Beggs, and Terry Potts of Hulbert; two sisters, Kay Henson of Tahlequah, and Sue Comer of Hulbert; four brothers-in-law, Ray Moss and wife Bonnie, Pete Moss and wife Ruby, and Cobb Moss and wife Kathy, all of Lost City, and Carl Coles of Peggs; a sister-in-law Mamie Aquyres of Ozark Mo.; a special grandson Johnny Keith Potts; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Bill Marsh

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Bill Marsh, 52, of Tahlequah, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday March 25, 2004, at Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel, with Bobby Botts officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Hulbert, under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Pallbearers will include Curt Archambo, Craig Taylor, Ray Osmond, Devlin Osmond, Butch Small and Kevin Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hall, Randy McCollum, Dean Harbison, Claude Walls, Shawn Hall and John Downing.

Bill Marsh was born to David Jr. and Alice (Sanders) Marsh on Aug. 28, 1951, in Tahlequah, and passed from this life on March 22, 2004, in Tahlequah.

Bill owned and operated Bill's Paint and Body Shop in Tahlequah for over 30 years. He enjoyed racing cars, boats and motorcycles, and riding his Harley on long road trips. Bill loved his family first and foremost.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother Alice (Sanders) Marsh, and his father-in-law A.P. Weeden.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kay Marsh of the home; his father and stepmother, Dave and Mary Lee Marsh of Hulbert; a daughter, Julie Michele Marsh of Tahlequah; two sons, Billy Brandon Marsh and wife Chrissy of Hulbert, and Cody Allen Marsh and wife Kyndra of Hulbert; a sister, Sunny Shepherd and husband Ernie of Tahlequah; a brother, David Marsh Sr. and wife Rhonda of Newala; his mother-in-law, Beulah Willhite of Wagoner; two grandchildren, Britney Walls of Tahlequah and Brenna Gaile Marsh of Hulbert, nine nieces and nephews.

Lorene Sadie Pilcher-Richardson

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Lorene S. Richardson, 73, of Tahlequah will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lloyd Coppedge officiating. Interment will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Terry Combs, Greg Combs, Doug Combs, Jake Combs, Terry Joe Combs and Gerry Benn. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Shirrel, Leon Osburn, David Dry, and the past and present faculty and staff of Tenkiller School.

Lorene S. Richardson was one of 13 children born to Thomas Marvin and Bertha Jane (Herrin) Pilcher on June 15, 1930, in Bigfoot, and passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, April 8, 2004, in Tahlequah.

Lorene grew up in Cherokee County and graduated from Northeastern State University with a master's degree in education. She married Lee "Stoke" Richardson on July 24, 1953, in Rogers, Ark. Together they raised two boys, Mark and Jeb. Lorene loved her students so she devoted 30 years of her life to teaching. Lorene loved to talk politics, and spend time with a good book. In her leisure time, she enjoyed a friendly game of poker or fishing at her favorite spot. But the time she spent with her children and grandchildren is what made her the happiest. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Lorene is preceded in death by both of her parents; her loving husband Stokes in 1990; one beloved son, Mark Owen Richardson in 1986; and two brothers, Roy and Curtis Pilcher.

She is survived by her son, Jeb Richardson and wife Dana of Tahlequah; eight sisters, Ethel Coop and husband Bob and Clara Ford, all of Tahlequah, Marie Combs of Stockton, Calif., Doris Beidler of Roseville, Calif., Berniece Alderson and husband Jay of Chico, Calif., Tommie Osburn of Edmond, Cleo Combs of Tahlequah, and Faye Denney and husband Tal of Marietta, Calif.; two brothers, Willard Pilcher and wife Louise of Lodi, Calif., and Keith Pilcher and wife Mary of Hulbert; two special grandchildren, Bo Richardson and Jaci Richardson of Tahlequah; her best friend and running buddy, Virgie Hodge; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Special Olympics Program of the Cherokee County School System, or a charity of choice.

Veronica Alexina Gillis McGee

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Veronica Alexina Gillis McGee, 83, of Tahlequah, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Brigid's Catholic Church with Father Ken Iheanacho officiating. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2004, at Hart Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. on April 13, 2004, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Frederick "Bubba" McGee III, Gary McClure Jr., Jared McClure, Jeremy Patrick McClure, John Fredrick Neel Jr., Ronald Dean Neel Jr., Joshua Canterbury, and Zachary Prestjohn. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bruce McClure, Jason Canterbury, Edward Canterbury III, and Timothy Alexander Neel.

Veronica was born one of three children to Alexander Joseph and Alice S. (MacGillivray) Gillis in Cambridge, Mass., on Sept. 27, 1920. Veronica graduated as a registered nurse in 1940 and enlisted into the United States Army in 1942, serving during World War II in the Army Nursing Corps. She worked in the evacuation hospital where the wounded were brought in off the fields in New Hebradres and New Caledonia. She was also one of the first nurses to administer the new wonder drug, penicillin, when first introduced.

Veronica married Raymond Frederick McGee on March 2, 1946, in Brighton, Mass. They moved from Mammoth Cave, Ky., to Tahlequah in 1967. She retired from Tahlequah City Hospital after serving a total of 45 years in nursing. She loved crafting, sewing, oil painting, and made the best bread and pies around. Veronica was a dedicated member of St. Brigid's Church, Sacred Heart in Muskogee and St. John's in Cambridge and served as the president of the Altar Society. But most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Veronica is preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Raymond, in 1982; her oldest daughter, Nan Alice Canterbury, in 1987; her brother, Joseph Alden; and sister, Martha O'Reilly.

Veronica is survived by eight children Raymond F. McGee Jr. and wife Gayle of Lawton, Martha Louise Neel and husband Ronald of Broken Arrow, Susan Eileen Prestjohn of Hurst, Texas, Veronica McClure and husband Gary of Tatum, Texas, Timothy J. McGee of Tahlequah, Sarah Elizabeth McClure and husband Kevin of Edmond, Matthew Alden McGee of Tulsa, and Melissa Marie Earl and husband David of Grandview; a son-in-law, Edward Canterbury Jr. of Tulsa; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
