Stanley Hudson

Services for Stanley Hudson, 49, Sulphur, are pending at this time with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.

Mr. Hudson was born on February 28, 1952 and died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001.

Robert Olen Bishop

Services for Robert Olen Bishop, 58, Ponca City, were held Friday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Ramsey officiating.

Interment was at the Odd Fellows Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Bishop was born on May 1, 1943 in Laguna Beach, Calf. to William and Ruby Bishop.

He died February 11, 2002 in the Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medial Center.

He is a former resident of Sulphur.

On January 18, 1980 he married Ruth Capshaw in Ponca City

Mr. Bishop served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1968, serving in Vietnam on the USS Tortuga LSD26 as a BT3.

He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Mr. Bishop owned R & W Construction and was an active member of First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Capshaw Bishop, of the home; three stepsons, Richard A. Capshaw, Dallas, Texas, James A. Smith, Ponca City and Steven R. Smith, Independence, Kansas; one stepdaughter, Margie Malloy, Columbus, Ga.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Barnes, Roff and Debbie Carter, Ponca City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister, Joanne Bishop.

Pallbearers were Wes Locke, Dick Hollis, Robert Craig, Gregg Leonetti, Steve Geake and Les Burke.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Capshaw, Dale Randall, Ron Blackwell, Darrel Rupe, Max Hopkins and Bill Palmer

Almus T. Dickenson

Services for Almus T. Dickenson, 82, Davis, were held Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Finis Steelman officiating.

Interment was at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Mr. Dickenson was born on September 3, 1919 in Carter County to Frank Paul Dickenson and Christine Smith Dickenson.

He died February 17, 2002 in Sulphur.

On June 15, 1942 he married Ruby Janiece Veach in Katte, Okla.

Mr. Dickenson worked as a farmer.

He is survived by four daughters, Linda Walters, Sulphur, Vicki Connell and Jeanie Noble, both of Fort Worth, Cheryl McMinn, Alberquerque, N.M.; two sons, Earl Dickenson, Davis and John Dickenson, Fort Worth; five sisters, Ruby Walston, Lawton, Grace Murrin, Clay Center, Kan., Joanne Gardner, Springfield, Ore., Lorraine Brown, Bakersfield, Calf. and Joyce Jackson, Fort Worth; one brother, Raymond Dickenson, Colts Neck, N.J.; 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons and one brother, one sister and one grandchild.

Harold Glenn "Pete" Hollingsworth

Services for Harold Glenn "Pete" Hollingsworth were held Friday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clagg Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Richard Chew officiating with arrangements under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born on Saturday, Feb. 14, 1926 in Wayne to Otis A. Hollingsworth and Lenora Edith Davenport Hollingsworth.

He died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in Oklahoma City.

He grew up in the Wayne area and attended Capitol Hill High school before joining the Navy.

After the Navy he was a firefighter in the Tinker Air Base for 16 years.

He was a longtime horse breeder in Norman in the late 70's and 80's. He had lived in Sulphur since 1988.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Twyla and Glenn Taylor, Oklahoma City; a son and daughter-in-law, Otis Glenn and Karen Hollinsgworth, Moore; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertha; a brother, Charles and a sister, Odessa who was reported missing in action in 1945.

Special thanks to Hospice especially Treba and Gina for all their care and support.

Floyd Pope

Services for Floyd Pope, 82, will be held Thursday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.

Interment will be at the Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City.

He died Sunday, July 28, 2002 in Tempe Arizona.

He was a WWII veteran and a retiree from Tinker Field Air Force Base after 30 years combined military and civil service.

He is survived by his sister, Beulah McCracken, Sulphur and one son, Tony, Tempe Ariz.

David Autry Monroe

Private graveside services were held for David Autry Monroe, 76, Davis, with Rev. Brad Ransom officiating.

Interment was at the Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.

Mr. Monroe was born on January 28, 1926 in Marietta to Jack Monroe and Ruth Neal. He died July 29, 2002 in Paul's Valley.

On October 4, 1953 he married Virginia Hinchey in Elsa Brandy, Calif.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He lived for a while in Seattle, Wash., then moved to Long Beach, Calf. where he worked in construction.

After he retired he moved to Davis in 1991.

He loved fishing traveling, spending time with friends and enjoyed living in Murray County.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; one step son, Bob Thornton and his wife, Rosemary, Montgomery, Texas; five grandchildren, Scott, Stacie, Stephanie, Bobby Jr. and Diane; two great grandchildren, Katherine and Celeb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Nancy Sue Monroe.
