Allene Rowe Pennybaker Prentice Limb

Davis native Allene (Rowe) Pennybaker Prentice Limb, 91, of Norman died July 27, 2002, at Norman Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were July 30 at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Densman officiating.

Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Limb was born June 13, 1911, in Davis to John W. and Pauline (Sewell) Rowe.

She moved with her family as a child to California for a short period of time before moving back to Davis.

She attended Davis School through the 12th grade.

She married Oliver LeRoy Pennybaker on May 31, 1936, at Elk City, where they established their first home.

In 1941, they moved to Seminole and lived there until he entered the military service during World War II.

They spent two years in Texarkana, Texas. They returned to Seminole and lived there until his death in 1973.

During this time, she was employed for many years as a sales clerk for Sharp's Department Store and Gibson's Discount Center.

She married Homer Prentice in 1975 and moved to Allen, where they lived until his death in 1985.

She later married Virgil Limb in 1990 and returned to Seminole.

After his death in 1996, she moved to Norman to be near her family.

Mrs. Limb was a Baptist.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alma Dora Haynes, and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Rowe.

Survivors include: a son, Anthony "Tony" Pennybaker, Norman, and two sisters, Eva Brown and Ruth Russell, both of Davis.

Pallbearers were David L. Pennybaker, Jerry D. Pennybaker, Robert L. Pennybaker, Raymond D. Rowe, Bill E. Russell, Johnny Ross Russell and Dale F. Crowder. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

AlVera Virginia Johnson

Memorial Services for AlVera Virginia Johnson, 84, Davis, were held Friday, July 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Davis with Rev. John Joughin officiating.

Interment is pending for September at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

She was born on March 23, 1918 in Wynnewood to Al Jennings and Vera (Burke) Jennings.

She died July 23, 2002 at Mercy Memorial Health Center at Ardmore.

On December 10, 1948 she married Floyd Paul Johnson in Davis. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2001.

She attended First United Methodist Church and was in Tuesday Study Club.

She had lived in her residence for 54 years and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Al Jennings; and one sister, Jane Jennings Wegener.

She is survived by one brother, Roy Jade Jennings and two nephews.

Betty Jane Fowler

Services for Betty Jane Fowler, 60, were held Monday, Sept. 30 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating.

Interment was at the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

She was born on Thursday, Oct. 9, 1941 in Finney Switch, Texas to Fred Freeman and Fern A. Ivey Freeman.

She died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 in Tulsa.

On February 27, 1965 she married Wendel Fowler in Sulphur.

She lived in this area most of her life.

She attended school at Asher and moved to Sulphur in 1958 where she graduated from Sulphur High School.

She was the secretary at Sulphur Intermediate School.

She is survived by her husband, Wendel Fowler, Sulphur; one daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Tim Drummond, Pawhuska; one son and daughter-in-law, Brooks and Shellie Fowler, Chicago, Illinois; her father, Fred Freeman, Sulphur; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Jo Freeman and Jim and Diane Freeman, all of Sulphur; three grandchildren, Caleb and Halle Drummond and Ivey Jane Fowler.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fern Freeman.

Pallbearers were Scott Freeman, Andy Freeman, Cale Freeman, Layne Brewer, Steve Brewer, Clay Brewer, Coley Brewer and Bear Runyan.

Alice Marie Lowrance

Services for Alice Marie Lowrance, 93, were held Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sulphur United Methodist Church with Rev. Emery Mason officiating.

Interment was at the Lowrance Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

She was born on Friday, June 25, 1909 in Gate to John Balley and Addle Bates Balley.

She died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 in Sulphur.

On April 21, 1934 she married W. B. Lowrance in Liberal, Kan.

He preceded her in death on February 1, 1976.

She grew up in the Panhandle area and moved to Sulphur in 1935.

She had been the tag agent and the Murray County Court Clerk.

She retired as the secretary for the Superintendent at OSD.

She taught school before she married and was a member of the Eastern Star, Murray County Democratic Women, a former INCA Board member and was a member of the Sulphur United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Joe Taylor, Sulphur; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Dona Lowrance and Kenny and Debbie Lowrance, all of Sulphur, Joe Don and Debbie Lowrance, Duncanville, Texas; seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters.

Pallbearers were Patrick Cleburn, Mack Peterson, Phillip Lowrance, Charles Grant Lowrance, Landon Lowrance, and Ronald Trett.
