Ruth V. Tuley

Graveside services were held at noon on Monday, Sept. 14 at Hennepin Cemetery, for Ruth V. Tulley, 81. Rev. Randy Chapman and Rev. Johnny Beckmon officiated the ceremony. Burial was held at Hennepin Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home A resident of Davis, Ruth was born February 22, 1934 in Oakland, Calif.. She passed away Thursday, Sept. 10 in Norman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Tuley. She grew up in California, moving to Hennepin in 1980. Ruth had worked at the Post Office in Hennepin, and later at the Davis Pawn Shop. She was a member of Assembly of God Church of Davis. She is survived by her numerous family members and friends.

James Codi Bowser

Services for James Codi Bowser, 21, Sulphur, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at First Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Dick Terry. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home. Born April 29, 1994 in Ardmore to James Wayne and Kara Sue (Kahle) Bowser, he passed away Friday, Feb. 5, in Sulphur. He married Ashley (Crittenden) Bowser in Sulphur on March 16, 2013. He grew up in Ardmore, where attended school until his junior year. He then moved to Sulphur and graduated from Sulphur High School. He was employed by the Chickasaw Nation at the Artesian Hotel in surveillance. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Dickson. Surviving are his wife, Ashley Bowser, Sulphur; daughter, Alisha Arin Bowser, Sulphur; his mother, Kara Sue Kahle, Ardmore; his father, James Wayne Bowser, Norman; grandparents, Reese and Peggy Kahle, Ardmore; grandmother, Sharon Cranmore, Ardmore; mother-in-law, Kathy Battles, Sulphur; father-in-law, Ralph Crittenden, Sulphur; two sisters, Stephany Bowser and Jazmine Bowser, both of Norman and one brother, Devon Bowser, also of Norman. Pallbearers will be Jerry Collier, Victor Collier, Timothy Stephens and Jacob Talley.

WD “Dub” McNutt

WD “Dub” McNutt age 83 of Lexington went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family that loved him so much. Dub was born on September 22, 1932 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of four children born to Sidney George “Shorty” McNutt and Hazel Irene (Worley) McNutt. Dub grew up and attended school in Sulphur. At the age of 18 he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950, served in Korea as a diesel mechanic on heavy equipment. He proudly served his country for four years before being honorably discharged. After he returned home he got married and moved to Paul's Valley. There he worked as a painter and raised seven children. In 1968 he moved his family to Noble and then started working for the University of Oklahoma. Dub worked for OU as a painter for 26 years before retiring in 1991. On December 13, 1974, Dub married Johnnie Sugg in Noble, OK. She had four children, now two families became one big wonderful family. In 1976, Dub and Johnnie moved to Lexington and started attending the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dub was a faithful Christian and also served as a Lay Minister in the Pentecostal Church. He loved reading his Bible and was a scholar of the Bible. He currently was a member of Family Mission Church in Lexington. Throughout his life, Dub was an antique car buff and enjoyed reading car magazines. He also was an avid reader of the monthly consumer report magazine. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and Hazel McNutt; one brother, Earl Ray McNutt; two sisters, Edna Ruth McNutt and Lawanda Lee McNutt; one daughter, Sharon “Cokie” Hockersmith; one son, Donnie McNutt; three grandsons, Jimmy Daniel Jr., Christopher Huddleston and Kristopher Sugg and one granddaughter, Christy Wages Grier. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie McNutt of the home in Lexington; nine children, David McNutt and wife Rose of Paul's Valley, Sandra Wages of Paul's Valley, Bobby McNutt of Paul's Valley, Larry McNutt and wife Connie of Paul's Valley, Roger McNutt and Tommy Martinez of Lakeside, California, Kenny Sugg and wife Debbie of Lexington, Penny Willhite of Phoenix, Ariz., Lisa Shahan and husband Dennis of Newcastle, Dennis Sugg and wife Marian of Lexington; 18 grandchildren, Ann Margaret Fogle of Paul's Valley, Michael Hockersmith of Stratford, Mickey Daniels of Checotah, Kevin McNutt and wife Pam of Atlanta GA, Kerri Webb of OKC, Teresa Mann and husband Joe of Paul's Valley, Zack Copeland of South Carolina, Daniel McNutt and wife Donna of Paul's Valley, Angel Baird and husband Jeremy of Slaughterville, Ethan Webb & Madison Webb of Paul's Valley, Steven Martinez of Lakeside, CA; Joshua Peters of Lex, Jacob Smith of Lex., Jarrod Willhite of Phoenix, Randi Shahan of Newcastle, Rebecca and Jud Whitehead of Cameron, OK; DJ and wife Tiffany Sugg of Wister, OK; Kelsi Sugg of Noble, Tara Randol and husband Jimmy of Norman, John Mooney and wife Mary of Lexington; 32 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren and one on the way; one nephew, Jackie Jones of Paul's Valley; several cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at Wilson- Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. A committal service will be at 3:00 PM at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Stormi Dawn Rucker

Funeral services for Stormi Dawn Rucker, 44, Sulphur, were held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Sulphur with Pastor Bobby Allison officiating. Interment followed at the East Hill Cemetery in Roff under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis. Stormi was born August 29, 1971 in Paul's Valley to Lee and Charolette (Ball) Payne. She died Monday, Feb. 1, in Sulphur. Stormi grew up in Sulphur and Elmore City. She and Walter Charles Rucker were married on December 2, 1989 in Sulphur. Stormi spent many years working as a Certified Nurse’s Aide in several area nursing homes. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting the casino, garage selling, sewing and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Walter; father, Lee Payne and wife, Duan, Sulphur; one daughter, Brittany Rucker and husband, Troy Goforth, Guthrie; four sons, Coatney, Blake, Walter, Jr. and Preston Rucker, all of Sulphur; six grandchildren; one sister, Wendy Payne, Elmore City; four brothers, Edker Lee Payne, Jr., Sulphur, Skipper Roland, Muskogee, David Smith, Ardmore and Brian Huckabaa, Sulphur and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers were Walter Rucker, Scott Christian, Tyler Christian, David Smith, Brian Huckabaa and Coatney Rucker. Honorary bearers were Walter Rucker, Jr., Blake Rucker, Preston Rucker, Lee Payne and Lee Payne, Jr.

Daniel Joeseph Moose

Funeral services for Daniel Joeseph Moose, 26, Sulphur, were held 11:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 5, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur. Daniel was born May 7, 1989 in Phoenix, Ariz., to Danny Moose and Carol Cropper. He died Monday, Feb. 1, in Sulphur, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Daniel grew up in the Sulphur/Davis area. He was employed with Kirkpatrick Drywall of Sulphur. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends, working on cars, riding ATV’s and mudding. Survivors include his parents, Carol and Robert Palmer; father, Danny Moose; daughter, Allie Moose; fiancé, Kim Brooks and her children, Karrson, Kaydence and Korbyn; three brothers, Ronnie Cropper, Robert Palmer II and Robert Palmer, Jr; one sister, Crystal Palmer and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by one sister, Danielle Moose; grandparents, Charles and Paulette Cropper and great-grandparents, Vernon and Dora Nelson. Services are “Entrusted To” Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Lisa Rene Tallant

Graveside services for Lisa Rene Tallant, 45, were held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Darryl Howard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis. Born November 17, 1970 in Paul's Valley to William H. “Bill” and Harvena L. (Pettit) Tallant, she died Wednesday, Feb. 3, in Oklahoma City. Lisa grew up in Davis, where she attended school. She spent her married life as a stay at home mom, loving and caring for her children. Lisa had a great love for animals, more so for dogs. She cherished her time being with family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Gary Taylor; daughter, Bethanee Taylor, Davis; son, Wil Taylor, Duncan; father, Bill Tallant, Davis; mother, Harvena Maggard, Sulphur; two grandchildren; two sisters, Cindy (Tallant) Rochell and husband, Jack, Duncan and Kerry (Tallant) Koch and husband, Melvin, Sulphur and other family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lisa was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Craig Tallant; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Della Mae Tallant and maternal grandparents, Anna Lee Stallings and Harvey Corcoran.

Betty Jo Mann

Graveside services for Betty Jo Mann, 85, Norman, were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at Oaklawn Cemetery officiated by Joe Runyan. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home. Born April 29, 1930 in Sulphur to Grady Warren and Hattie Mae(Crain) Hood, she passed away Tuesday March 1 in Plano, Texas She married Andy J. Mann in Gainesville, Texas on May 1, 1948. He preceded her in death November 14, 1988 Betty grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School. The family moved to Oklahoma City where she worked for Tinker Air Force Base before transferring to the FAA where she worked in administration until her retirement. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rosie McKinley and Mary Davis and one brother, Henry Hood. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mickey Mann and Janie of Norman; four grandchildren, Brian, Dustin, Micah and Matthew; eight great grandchildren, Cristin, Chandra, Hayden, Kash, Korah, Caleb, Carter, Cayden; two brothers, George Hood, Earlsboro, and Carl Hood of Sulphur. Pallbearers were Brian Calvin, Dustin Calvin, Micah Mann, Matthew Mann, Caleb Calvin, Kash Calvin and Hayden Howard.

E.L. “ED” Nowell 1943-2016

Eddie Lavon Nowell passed away peacefully on February 26, 2016 in Plano, TX. Ed was born December 11, 1943 in Laurel, MS to Robert Nowell and Ruby Walker Nowell. He graduated from Myrick High School in 1961. After meeting the love of his life, Elizabeth Dianne Bustin, they were married on February 23, 1963, in Laurel, MS. Ed was a highly respected executive in the Oil and Gas Industry with 48 years of experience. He began his career in the oilfield supply segment of the industry in 1964 with the Oilwell Division of United States Steel. Ed advanced his career with USS through increasingly responsible positions until he took deferred retirement in 1981 to accept a position as Vice President and General Manager of Union Supply Company in Artesia, NM. In 1983 Ed became the President and CEO of Union Supply headquartered in Midland, TX. In 1986, Ed and 6 employees of UGI Corporation of Valley Forge, PA the parent company of Union Supply, entered into a LBO with UGI and purchased 4 companies. The new holding company was named UTI Energy Corporation, currently known as Patterson – UTI Energy Corporation. In 1996 after transitioning Union Supply into Continental Emsco, Ed then purchased Kerr Pump Corporation located in Sulphur, OK. Ed served as the Kerr Pump Corporation CEO and Chairman of the Board. In 2007, together with his son, Ed purchased Flow Valve. Ed operated both Kerr Pumps and Flow Valve until his retirement December 31, 2012 when he handed the day today operations over to his son Mark. Ed was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents and brother, Wayne Nowell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dianne; sons Eric and wife, Michele, Mark and wife, Missy, Scott and wife, Robin; he was a loving papa to, Danielle, Courtney, Brandon, Cameron, Blake and Taylor; brother Charles Nowell and wife, Valerie; sisters Carolyn Reeves, Glenda Tharp and husband, Joe; sisters in law, Karleen Adams and husband, Clint, Barbara Glenn; nephew Ray Williams; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 225 1st Ave SW in Ardmore, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ed’s honor may be made to www.alz.org/donate, www.heart.org or the charity of your choice.
