Carol René Lamproe

Carol René Lamproe, 43, of Phoenix, died Monday (Jan. 15, 2001) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. No service is planned.

She was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Whittier, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973 from California. On June 1, 1977, in Reno, Nev., she married Eddie Lamproe, who survives.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Jason, Phoenix; a daughter, Melissa Lamproe, Milwaukie; her mother, Marilyn Baack, Longview, Wash; two sisters, Candi, Medford, and Connie, Longview, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.

Ralph George Williams

Ralph George Williams, 84, of Central Point, died Sunday (Jan. 14, 2001) at his home. A springtime memorial service will be held in the forest.

He was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Olustee, Okla. He moved to the Rogue Valley 41 years ago from Albuquerque, N.M. On Oct. 8, 1960, in Las Vegas, he married Jane Wright Knudson, who survives.

Mr. Williams was self-employed as Ralph Williams Construction Co. and was president of Northridge Construction Co. in Medford, retiring in 1989.

He was an avid outdoor adventurer and hunting enthusiast. He especially enjoyed traveling to the Oregon Coast and to his Lakeside mountain cabin.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Laura Cumiford, Albuquerque, N.M., and CharletteDenton, Truth or Consequences, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Suzanne Knudson, Talent; two stepsons, Greg L. Knudson and Bart J. Knudson, both Medford; two sisters, Marg Slovacek, San Diego, and Marie Sulier, Albuquerque; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ralph; three brothers, E.W. Jr., Wayne, and Bruce Williams; and two sisters, Louise Williams and Viola Ray.

Frank N. Scotton

Frank N. Scotton, 78, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 13, 2001) in Medford. A private service will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 3181 Sam Jackson Park Road, Suite 2200, Portland, OR 97201.

He was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Washougal, Wash. On Aug. 20, 1954, in Camas, Wash., he married Jean L. Williams, who survives.

Mr. Scotton was an accountant for American Almond Orchards in Northern California. He lived in the Rogue Valley from 1984 to 1994, when he moved to Florence. He returned to Medford in 1999.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Larry, Medford; two daughters, Bonnie Ingersoll, Woodinville, Wash., and Karen Scotton, Florence; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Patricia L. Harris

The graveside service for Patricia L. Harris will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Medford Medical Center Hospice will officiate.

Mrs. Harris, 70, of Eagle Point, died Friday (Jan. 12, 2001) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born May 27, 1930, in Kokomo, Ind., a daughter of Preston and Waneta Smith. On May 16, 1953, in Las Vegas, she married Andrew F. Harris, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Klamath Falls.

Mrs. Harris was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts in Klamath Falls.

She enjoyed her family, horses and the Girl Scouts.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Scott, Eagle Point, and Robert Andrew, Newberg; a brother, Paul Smith, Kokomo; a sister, Sandra White, Kokomo; and four grandsons.

Pauline M. Rollins

The memorial service for Pauline May Rollins will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Simple Faith Church in Ashland.

Mrs. Rollins, 69, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (Jan. 10, 2001) at Redding Medical Center in Redding, Calif.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Simple Faith Church, 1033 Tolman Creek Road, Ashland, OR 97520.

She was born March 23, 1931, in Molalla, the daughter of Harry and Elva Gray. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Gold Beach in 1969, after her first husband died. In 1971, she married Will Rollins, who survives.

Mrs. Rollins worked for Sherm’s Thunderbird Market. In 1976, she moved to Hornbrook, Calif., where she owned an antique and general store. Several years later she moved to Gold Beach, where she owned an antique and ceramic shop. She had been semi-retired for the past 10 years in Welton, Ariz., and traveled to flea markets selling jewelry and collectibles during the summer months .

She enjoyed visiting her children and grandchildren in Oregon.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Marlyn Harris, Eagle Point, and Jennice Dauenhauer, Ashland; a son, Darrell Wolfe, Hornbrook, Calif.; a brother, Frank Gray, Gold Beach; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements: Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel, Redding, Calif.

Donald Amazon Walden

The memorial service for Donald Amazon Walden will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rogue Valley Christian Church in Medford. Pastor Lee Shields will officiate. Interment will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

Mr. Walden, 91, of Ashland, died Thursday (Jan. 11, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Beaver, Ark., a son of Joe and Vinnie Walden. He lived in a two-room shanty in Mud Springs, Ark., until the family moved to Brookland, Ark., where he lived until he was 17. They then moved to Seligman, Mo., and he graduated from Seligman Consolidated School in 1932. On May 22, 1942, in Medford, he married Floris Kendall Babb, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Walden served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1934 to May 1936 and worked in the logging industry until August 1936, when he moved to the Rogue Valley. In Oregon, he worked in a grocery store, and then for Thanis Logging Contractors in 1941, and Alley Bros. Lumber Co. in 1942 in Talent. He moved to Ashland in 1942. From 1952 until his retirement in 1972, he worked for the Jackson County Roads Department.

During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator.

Mr. Walden was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and trains.

Survivors, include a stepson, Donald Kendall, Prineville; two stepdaughters, Dixie Lee Cartwright, Rocky Point, and Joanne Sims, Redmond; two brothers, Norman, Fort Hood, Texas, and Wayne, Seligman, Mo.; three sisters, Marieta Murray, Talent, Texanna Talburt, Wilbur, Ore., and Margarite Mathis, Woodland, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

Rose Eleanor Krebs

The funeral for Rose Eleanor Krebs will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Church (Assembly of God). Pastor Tim Olson will officiate.

Mrs. Krebs, 97, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 13, 2001) at Three Fountains Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 30, 1903, in Indianapolis, the daughter of George and Dora (Stoffer) Kilian. In 1920, in Fall City, she married Harry E. Krebs. Her husband of 62 years died in 1982.

Mrs. Krebs was a homemaker.

She enjoyed sewing, gospel music, bingo and reading, especially the Bible.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin, Medford, and Everett, Marcola; two daughters, Eleanor Arnett, Medford, and Charlotte Palmer, Phoenix; two stepchildren, Harry Krebs, in Canada, and Verla Austin, Eugene; 81 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Archie; two daughters, Irene Chapman and Clara Mae Krebs; and a stepdaughter, Erma Orcutt.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Ruth E. Nelson Anderson

The memorial service for Ruth E. Nelson Anderson will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Conger-Morris Funeral Home, Medford.

Mrs. Anderson, 87, of Salem, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (Jan. 11, 2001) in Salem, of congestive heart failure.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born March 9, 1913, in La Grande. In 1931, she married Jacob A. Nelson, who died in 1973. In 1984, she married Raymond Anderson, who died in 1986.

Mrs. Anderson worked in quality control for Harry and David in Medford in the 1960s. She was also a homemaker. She lived in the Rogue Valley from 1920 until 1986, when she moved to Salem.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Nelson, Prospect; a daughter, Karen Fairchild, Salem; a sister, Mildred Thigpin, Phoenix; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Leland Nelson.

Arrangements: Restlawn Funeral Home, Salem.
