Blake Berry Jones

Blake Berry Jones, 79, of Medford, died Monday (March 13, 2000) at Farmington Square. No service is planned. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery in Lakeview.

He was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Erwin, Tenn., a son of Austin and Marnie (Hansley) Jones. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Tennessee.

Mr. Jones was a tree faller.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Jones enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two cousins, Milon Herman, Arlington, Tenn., and Ruth Gray, Jonesborough, Tenn.

Laura Mae Daily

The funeral for Laura Mae Daily will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Daily, 93, of Rogue River, died Tuesday (March 14, 2000) in Rogue River.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foots Creek Chapel, 913 Foots Creek Road, Gold Hill, OR 97525.

She was born July 17, 1906, near Orleans, Neb., a daughter of William Oscar and Allie Elvie Sell. She grew up on a prairie homestead.

On April 21, 1926, in Norton, Kan., she married Frank Daily, who died in 1976. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1937 from Nebraska and lived on a small ranch on Foots Creek for 40 years. She moved to Rogue River following her husband's death.

Mrs. Daily was known in the area for her oil paintings, especially her florals. She was an expert in the use of the palette knife, and taught the technique.

She was active in a number of art associations and received many awards for her work. She was an active member of the Rogue River Civic Club, the Rogue River Garden Club and the Foots Creek Chapel.

Mrs. Daily enjoyed hiking, needlecraft, gardening and nature.

Survivors include two sons, M. Kinley, Monmouth, and Cletus W., Helena, Mont.; two daughters, Jessica J. Reding, Grants Pass, and Arlene J. Fitzgerald, Port Orford; four sisters, Elva Bushnell, Grants Pass, Elizabeth Russell, Alma, Neb., Iva Shaver, St. Maries, Idaho, and Evelyn Russell, Holdrege, Neb.; two brothers, William Sell, Holdrege, Neb., and Oliver Sell, Orleans, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Athena L. Kotsios

The memorial service for Athena L. Kotsios will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Crater Lake Avenue. Larry Anderson will officiate.

Ms. Kotsios, 31, of Medford, died Sunday (March 12, 2000) at her home.

She was born Oct. 31, 1968, in Lynwood, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Los Angeles.

Ms. Kotsios was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She enjoyed writing poetry, sculpting with clay and talking about her faith.

Survivors include her parents, Savas and Loretta Smith-Shaw Kotsios, Medford; a brother, Jason Kotsios, Medford; and two sisters, Melena and Katerina Kotsios, both Medford.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Stanley Malcolm Lee

The memorial service for Stanley Malcolm Lee will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Highway 62, Eagle Point. Pastor Rick Booye will officiate. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River.

Mr. Lee, 75, of Eagle Point, died Monday (March 13, 2000) at Hearthstone.

He was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Lewis, Colo., a son of George Wesley and Dora Ellen (Garlinghouse) Lee. He moved to Wimer in 1936 from Lewis, Colo.

On Jan. 1, 1947, in Wimer, he married Elaine Cora West, who survives. He later moved to Rogue River and then to Eagle Point six months ago.

Mr. Lee was a millworker for Cascade Wood Products for 24 years, retiring in 1987.

He attended Trail Christian Fellowship.

Mr. Lee enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially ocean salmon fishing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Douglas Paul, Eagle Point, Charles Elvin, Gold Hill, and David Malcolm, Oregon City; two daughters, Lenora Ellen Shopp, Eagle Point, and Kathleen Isabelle Watson, Plains, Mont.; two brothers, Delbert Lee, Merlin, and Lawson Lee, Enid, Okla.; three sisters, Ada Schoettle and Elsie Seagoe, both Eagle Point, and Edith Brannon, Central Point; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lamoine Lee; and a sister, Carlene Dieterly.

Kathleen G. Feagan

Kathleen Gail Feagan, 54, of Central Point, died Sunday (March 12, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A memorial Mass was held. The Rev. Jim Clifford of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church officiated. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 25, 1946, in Lewiston, Idaho, a daughter of Raymond and Myrna (English) Rice. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1962 from Eugene.

On Dec. 28, 1966, in Medford, she married Earl Wayne Feagan, who survives.

Mrs. Feagan worked in sales at Nalley's in Medford for 10 years.

She was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point and the Eagles Club.

Mrs. Feagan enjoyed cats, sewing, camping and stained glass.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Michael Davis, Eagle Point, and Brett Ray, Medford; two brothers, Charles Francis Rice, Medford, and James Raymond Rice, Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Cheryl Diane Collins, Medford, and Janet Lynn Spencer, Corona, Calif.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond P. Rice, in 1987; and her mother, Myrna Z. Rice, in 1997.

Wilma C. Besner

Wilma Catherine Besner, 89, of Phoenix, died Sunday (March 12, 2000) at her home. A private service will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Wilma Hanson on July 15, 1910, in Audubon, Iowa.

On Sept. 20, 1933, in Los Angeles, she married Edmond Carl Besner, who died in 1977. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Southern California in 1975.

Mrs. Besner enjoyed arts and crafts.

Survivors include a nephew, Clyde Besner, Medford. She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Hanson, in 1995.

Gino M. Trinca

Gino M. Trinca, 83, of Grenada, Calif., formerly of Hilt, died Thursday (March 9, 2000) at Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka, Calif. The Mass was held Tuesday, March 14. The Rev. Sean O'Leary officiated. Interment will be in Henley-Hornbrook Cemetery in Hornbrook.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grenada Fire Department, P.O. Box 214, Grenada, CA 96038.

He was born Sept. 16, 1916, in Weed, Calif.

In 1939, he married Laura Rose, who died in 1986.

In 1987, he married Frances (Gater) Truttman, who survives.

Mr. Trinca owned the Stateline Service Station in Hilt with his brothers. He retired in 1979. He lived and worked in the Hilt area for 40 years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Gino Jay, Michael and Patrick; and three brothers, Robert, Remo and Eugene; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Girdner Funeral Chapel, Yreka, Calif.
