Alex Stephen Shaylor
The graveside service for Alex Stephen Shaylor will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Dwayne Brown of the First Presbyterian Church of Central Point will officiate.
Mr. Shaylor, 71, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Sept. 15, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation and Health Care.

He was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Port Angeles, Wash.
On June 26, 1950, in Stevenson, Wash., he married Helen L. Gisselberg, who survives.
Mr. Shaylor was a construction welder.
He was a member of Plumbers and Fitters, Local No. 290 in Portland.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Cheryl Dailey, White City, and Linda Kost, Astoria; four sons, Michael, Central Point, Maurice and Miles, both Reno, Nev., and Scott, Biloxi, Miss.; two sisters, Shirley Luger, Portland, and Pat Kidder, Tillamook; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lula Smith and Anna Ayres; and a brother, Orbrey.
Friends may pay their respects from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Monday at Abbey Funeral, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.
Adolf P. Koning
Adolf P. Koning, 87, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 16, 1999) at Rogue Valley Manor Health Center. No service is planned.

He was born July 24, 1912, in the Netherlands.
On Oct. 12, 1938, in the Netherlands, he married Conny Vandepoll, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from Palo Alto, Calif.
In Holland, Mr. Koning worked for his father's bulb business.
He was an electrical engineer at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto for 21 years.
He enjoyed rock hunting and hiking.
He was preceded in death by a sister.

Goldie V. Boyd
The graveside service for Goldie V. Boyd will be at 1 p.m. today in Siskiyou Memorial Park. Pastor Glen Tucker of the Pentecostal Church of God in Central Point will officiate.
Mrs. Boyd, 87, of Central Point, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) in Medford.

She was born Goldie Toothaker on April 1, 1912, in Leavenworth, Kan. She grew up in Leavenworth and in Nole, Mo., where she attended school.
On Nov. 8, 1937, in Ontario, Ore., she married Robert M. Boyd, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1954 from Veneta.
Mrs. Boyd and her mother started a restaurant in the Moore Hotel in Ontario. After she moved to Central Point, she worked as a cook and laundress for Central Point Schools. During the summers and off-times, she and a friend ran the cookhouse at the Rogue River Packing shed in Medford. Later, she was a caregiver for her siblings.
She was a member of the Mount Pitt Rebekah Lodge No. 3167 in Central Point, the League Encampment Association in Central Point, the Herb Society in Medford and the Central Point Grange.
Mrs. Boyd enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, S. Jean Beck, Central Point; two sisters, Aza Ella Ainsworth, Phoenix, and Mazie Edmondson, Ontario; two grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Jr., Willie, Merwin, Harold, and Charlie Toothaker; and four sisters, Jessie Flint, Bertha Toothaker, Lola Culbertson and Leota Thompson.

Etta `Jo' Howell
The funeral for Etta Josephine "Jo" Howell will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Dr. David Campbell, retired, will officiate.
Mrs. Howell, 87, of Talent, died Thursday (Sept. 16, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1911, in Alder, Mont., a daughter of James C. and Alice M. (Cowan) Wonderly.
In 1938, she married Charles E. Howell, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Howell worked as a waitress and cook in the restaurant industry.
She was chairwoman of the Talent Park Commission, a past chairwoman of the Talent Harvest Festival and was a president of the Talent Federated Women. She was a member of Talent Friends of the Library, a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes and a PTA past president.
She was a member of Senior Citizens on Aging, and was the Senior Citizen of the Year in 1985.
She was a member of Ashland Grace Lutheran Church, and served as a president of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Survivors include a son, Samuel H., Talent; three daughters, Mary A. Partsafas, Medford, Sue Noonan, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Betty Jo Patterson, Midland, Texas; a stepson, Lee Welburn, Medford; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford.
Wanda Sue Martinez
Wanda Sue Martinez, 50, of Medford, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center. A memorial service will be held later.
She was born Wanda Sue Kuhn on Oct. 1, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1992 from California.
Ms. Martinez was a member of the Ashland Community Church.
She enjoyed arts, crafts, bingo and puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Hamberlin, Medford, and Tammy Martinez, Los Angeles; her mother, Mary Kuhn, Medford; a sister, Rose Holden, Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

Paul Fredrick Hopkins
The memorial service for Paul Fredrick Hopkins will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 747 N.E. Savage St., Grants Pass. His ashes will be scattered off the coast near Florence.
President Steve Sutherland of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rogue River Ward, will officiate.
Mr. Hopkins, 72, of Rogue River, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) at his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1927, in Idabel, Okla.
On Sept. 23, 1978, in Carson City, Nev., he married Jennie Mae Ross, who survives.
Mr. Hopkins served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, retiring in 1963 after 20 years of active service. He received a Purple Heart during World War II. After his Navy service, he worked as an electrician for Fairchild's Semiconductors in San Jose, Calif., for more than 18 years, retiring in 1981. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1991.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and woodworking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Penny Garollar, Lubbock, Texas, Connee Pettipiece and Sylvia Schuetz, both Fremont, Calif., and Cheryl Cleveland, Grass Valley, Calif.; three sons, Garey Larson, Ashland, Jack Larson, Applegate, and Fred Larson, Loveland, Colo.; his mother, Pansy May Ross, Mandeville, La.; a brother, Bill, Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Nell Ermacoff
Nell Ermacoff, 86, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 15, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. Interment will be in Alta Mesa Cemetery in Palo Alto, Calif.
She was born Nell Ednoff on Aug. 11, 1913, in Redding, Calif.
On July 8, 1934, in San Francisco, Calif., she married Victor Ermacoff, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Palo Alto, Calif.
She enjoyed living at the Heritage House, now Alterra, and doing crafts.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Park, Medford, and Victoria Lee, Encinitas, Calif.; a sister, Louise Bogdanoft, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a brother, John Ednoff, Belmont, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Efimoff.

Lloyd J. Le Faive
The funeral Mass for Lloyd J. Le Faive will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jacksonville. The Rev. Carmelo Mifsud will officiate.
Mr. Le Faive, 84, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 16, 1999) at his home.
