Arthur Eli Koskella
A memorial service for Arthur Eli Koskella will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Congregational Church in Ashland. A second memorial service will be held in Idaho this summer, and his ashes will be scattered in the Idaho wilderness.
Mr. Koskella, 80, of Talent, died of congestive heart failure Sunday (May 2, 1999) at his home.
He was born Dec. 24, 1918, on the family homestead ranch near Donnelly, Idaho.
On May 28, 1940, in Emmett, Idaho, he married Jean Drake, who survives.
Mr. Koskella ranched near Lake Fork, Idaho, and later farmed southwest of Emmett. He also worked for the U.S. Forest Service and staffed several fire lookouts in north central Idaho. He retired in 1977 and moved to Talent in 1994.
He was a member of the board of directors and served as president of the Idaho Water Users Association.
Mr. Koskella was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed golf and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Stephen, Ashland; a daughter, Alice, Moscow, Idaho; five sisters, Helen Chicartegui, Aloha, Esther Runyan, Bothell, Wash., Irene Muir, Portland, Ethel Niemi, Tieton, Wash.; five brothers, Matt, and Howard, both Donnelly, Idaho, Ted, Nampa, Idaho, Emelin, Lewiston, Idaho, and John, Grand Junction, Colo.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marty, Andrew and August.

William H. Hunt
The funeral for William H. Hunt will be at 2 p.m. today at Siskiyou Chapel, Medford. Pastor Albert Sheeler will officiate.
Mr. Hunt, 80, of Medford, died Tuesday (May 4, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born June 22, 1918, in Klondike, Texas.
On Aug. 6, 1961, in Paris, Texas, he married Hattie L. Manning, who died in 1996.
Mr. Hunt was a farmer in Klondike, Texas, until he moved to Medford four years ago.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Hunt served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a master sergeant during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn and Harley, both Medford, and John, Eugene; a sister, Martel, Paris, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from noon to 2 p.m. today at Siskiyou Chapel.
Dorene R. Winkelman
The memorial service for Dorene Ruth Winkelman will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. John Dungey of Central Point will officiate.
Mrs. Winkelman, 73, of Central Point, died Tuesday (May 4, 1999) at her home.

She was born Dorene Ruth Stevenson on July 25, 1925, in Grants Pass.
On July 31, 1944, in Grants Pass, she married David Arthur Winkelman, who died in 1997. She lived in the Rogue Valley her entire life.
Mrs. Winkelman was a member of the Roxy Ann Gem & Mineral Society and the Roxy Ann Grange. She was a member of the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers, with whom she played at local nursing homes. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross from 1976 to 1994.
She enjoyed playing music, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Nathan R. Aldstadt
Nathan Randolph Aldstadt, 78, of Grants Pass, died Monday (May 3, 1999) at his son's home in Grants Pass. A private gathering will be held.
He was born Jan. 13, 1921, in Los Angeles.
On Nov. 22, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz., he married Helen Coleman, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 26 years ago from Moreno Valley, Calif.
Mr. Aldstadt was a dairy farmer in Woodland, Wash., and then worked maintaining tires on heavy-construction equipment.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Aldstadt enjoyed working on hot rods and was an avid horseman.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Randy, John and Tom, all Grants Pass; a daughter, Debora Aldstadt, Grants Pass; a sister, Alice Buck, Moreno Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Fakes, in 1991; and two brothers, Frederick in 1957, and George, in 1987.

`Bobby' James Pfeiffer
Robert "Bobby" James Pfeiffer, 52, of Gold Hill, died April 28, 1999, at his home. A private service is planned.
He was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Manhattan, N.Y. He moved to the Rogue Valley from New York many years ago.
Mr. Pfeiffer was a self-employed carpenter.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 and in the reserves until 1972 as a first lieutenant.
Mr. Pfeiffer was an pencil artist and enjoyed gardening, reading and biking.
He has no known survivors.

Anna Lorene Davis
Anna Lorene Davis, 97, of Medford, died Wednesday (May 5, 1999) at her home. A private service will be held.
She was born Anna Dorrington on April 3, 1902, in Salt Lake City.
On Sept. 3, 1924, in Los Angeles, she married Cleo F. Davis, who died in 1996. She moved to the Rogue Valley 3 1/2 years ago from San Juan Capistrano, Calif.
Mrs. Davis was an elementary school teacher in the Compton Unified School District in California for 41 years. She retired in 1963. She was named California's Teacher of the Year in 1958.
She was a member of the Coast Bible Church in San Juan Capistrano.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed letter writing, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, David C., Medford, and Frank D., Munich, Germany; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Dorrington, in 1957, and Clint Dorrington, in 1964.

Lois Virginia Edwards
The memorial service for Lois Virginia Edwards will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 17, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
Mrs. Edwards, 79, of Talent, died Tuesday (May 4, 1999) in Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Lois Virginia Little on March 8, 1920, in Alhambra, Calif.
On April 4, 1943, in Pasadena, Calif., she married Douglas Edwards, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Edwards received a degree in bacteriology from the University of California at Berkeley.
She worked for several years in the county public health department in Tucson, Ariz., and for three years in the public health department in San Diego.
Mrs. Edwards was a worldwide traveler who played the piano and enjoyed clipping out interesting articles and sending them to friends.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Kathleen Loy Edwards, Portland; and a sister, Joyce Dorn, Durant, Calif. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce Campbell Edwards, in 1967, and Thomas Campbell Edwards, in 1962.; and a brother, Kenneth Little.

George William Mead
The memorial service for George William Mead will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Green Brier Terrace Club House, Central Point. J.P. Jones will officiate.
Mr. Mead, 47, of Central Point, died March 28, 1999, at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Barbara J. Hibner
Barbara J. Hibner, 57, of Central Point, died Wednesday (May 5, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service will be held.
She was born Barbara Hanscom on Nov. 22, 1941, in Monterey Park, Calif.
On Dec. 13, 1980, in Coalstrip, Mont., she married John Hibner, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley 30 years ago.
Mrs. Hibner was a homemaker.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts, flowers and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Marie Robertson, Central Point; a sister, Mary Milo, Eugene; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Robertson.
