Cornelius Hendrickson Sr.

The graveside service for Cornelius Hendrickson Sr. will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Hendrickson, 75, of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 380 SE Spokane St., Suite 110, Portland, OR 97202.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1923 in Harriman, Tenn. The family moved to Oregon in 1929.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked in mills as a top edgerman.

He enjoyed gardening and carpentry.

Survivors include his companion of 20 years, Isabel Myrick, Medford; one daughter, Sue Holden, Talent; five stepchildren; two brothers, Billy, Bend and Ray, Medford; two grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Conrelius Jr., and two brothers, Paul and Clifford.

Friends may pay their respects at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Abbey Funeral.

Dale Goodman

Dale Goodman, 73, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 1998) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1925, in Dallas, Texas.

On Dec. 8, 1954, in Ashland, he married Claire L. Morgan, who survives.

Mr. Goodman owned and operated the Fly Casters Sport Shop and River Guide Service in Shady Cove for 40 years.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1943-1945. He saw active duty in the South Pacific. He was wounded at Iwo Jima and in the Volcano Islands and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He enjoyed hunting and wood carving, especially birds.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Rick Goodman, Central Point; three daughters, Terry Matlock Hanscom, Eagle Point; Jerry McKinney, Brookings; and Ava Goodman, La Conner, Wash.; a brother, Jim, Santa Barbara, Calif.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services, Siskiyou location.

Glen F. Happel

The funeral for Glen F. Happel will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4663 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem. Interment will be on Thursday in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 4663 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, OR 97305.

He was born Jan. 7, 1915, in Allen County, Ind.

On April 12, 1942, he married Wilma P. Gemeinhardt, who died in 1990.

During World War II, he worked as a civilian welder for the Navy at the Long Beach and Los Angeles Harbor shipyards.

They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946, when he began working as a millwright in the Grants Pass area.

From 1951-55, the Happels were caretakers at the Oregon Caves National Monument for the concessionaire. In 1955, he went to work at Crater Lake National Park, where he stayed for 27 years.

Mr. Happel enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Lisle, Salem; and three grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, Salem.

Edward H. Stryker

Edward R. Stryker, 77, formerly of Rogue River, died Thursday (Sept. 10, 1998) in Mesa, Ariz., where he was living. No services are planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Society, 21021 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91364.

He was born March 9, 1921, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On May 11, 1946, in Ontario, Canada, he married Reenie, who died in 1992.

They moved to Rogue River in 1980 after 20 years in Tarzana, Calif. He moved to Mesa earlier this year.

Mr. Stryker was a photo engraver. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force.

He enjoyed woodworking, baking and poetry.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo-Anne Bondelli, Mesa; and a son, Edward, Van Nuys, Calif.

Bette L. Tomlin

Friends and family will gather to remember Bette Louise Tomlin at 2 p.m. Monday at the home of Steve and Sandra Hess.

Mrs. Tomlin, 69, of Medford, died Monday (Sept. 14, 1998) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Advocacy Center, 816 W. 10th St., Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Monroe.

She moved to Medford from Roseburg and graduated from high school in Medford.

She worked for McGrew Lumber Co. in Ashland for many years.

She enjoyed painting, traveling and golf.

Survivors include a son, John Bean, Medford; a daughter, Jayne Hamaty, Bridgton, Maine; a stepson, John Tomlin, Coos Bay; and her companion, Bill Mayer, Medford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Gladys Marion Weber

Gladys Marion Weber, formerly of Central Point, died Monday (Sept. 14, 1998) at a National City, Calif., nursing home. She was 97.

No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Weber was born Gladys Johnson on Oct. 22, 1900, in Arkansas.

She married Paul A. Weber Dec. 16, 1923, in Lakeview. He died in 1991.

The couple moved to the Rogue Valley in 1947 from Lakeview.

Mrs. Weber was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Allen of Imperial Beach, Calif., and Joan Prauss of Crescent City, Calif.; a brother, Russell Johnson, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Genevieve Brown, Reno, Nev., and Lucille Bowen, Salt Lake City; six grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Russell Weber in 1930, and two brothers, Walter and Loris Johnson.

Marie Elizabeth Clark

The funeral for Marie Elizabeth Clark will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. The Rev. Fred Sapp of Blessed Hope Advent Church, Medford, will officiate.

Mrs. Clark, 89, of Phoenix, died Wednesday (Sept. 16, 1998), at Hearthstone Nursing Center in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church, care of the Mission Fund, 704 Welch St., Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Marie Stone on Sept. 2, 1909, in Bismarck, N.D.

On Aug. 1, 1929, in Oregon, she married Willard B. Clark. He died in 1977.

Mrs. Clark had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1974, moving here from Vancouver, British Columbia. She was a homemaker, and lived at the Top Side Pear Orchard in Medford for 43 years.

She was a member of the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Donald H., Vaughn W., and James A. Clark, all of Medford; two daughters, Carol M. Aubrey, Port Orchard, Wash., and Jacque M. Russell, Medford; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A granddaughter, Julie Kay Clark, died in 1960.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Wilmar Bernard Mein

The memorial service for Wilmar Bernard Mein will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, 8582 Rogue River Highway, Rogue River. The Rev. Norman Niblett will officiate. Private interment will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Mein, 79, of Rogue River, died Saturday (Sept. 19,1998) at his home.

He was born June 23, 1919, at Girard, Kansas, and attended Pittsburg State Teachers College in Pittsburg, Kansas, for two years. During World War II he served with the Army's Third Division in North Africa and in the invasion of Sicily and the Battle of Anzio.

He married Katherine Lubelle Behrmann on Aug. 16, 1944, in Orange, Calif., and after his discharge in 1945 they settled there.

He worked primarily as a barber, and he came to Rogue River in 1986.

Mr. Mein was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and he enjoyed golf.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Gary Mein of Rogue River, Brian Mein of Grants Pass and Robert Mein of North Hollywood, Calif.; a brother, Lorenz Mein of Girard, Kansas; two sisters, Clara Gehrking of Villa Park, Calif., and Hilda Stafford of Orange, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements: Chapel of the Valley, Grants Pass.
