Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Isabella (Bella) Borzacchini
Isabella (Bella) Borzacchini died peacefully in her sleep April 26,
2008 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. She was preceded in death
by her husband of 50 years, Fernando Borzacchini who died October 21,
2004.
Isabella loved to play bingo and take trips to Atlantic City.

Surviving are her two children, Kenneth Borzacchini of White Mills and
Denise Walker of Walton, NY; grandchildren Nicole Bosser of
Belleville, NJ and Sgt. Stephen Hueg serving in the US Army; brother
Frank Piazza of Sandy Hook, CT and a sister Marie Illuminate of GA.

As per her request, cremation was held at Maple Hill Crematory.
Private services will be held at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main
St. Honesdale at the families convenience.

Robert Lewis Firmstone
Robert Lewis Firmstone, 93 of Bethany Village and formerly of
Honesdale, died April 23, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He is
survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Mae Davis of Bethany
Village. The couple married January 1, 1944.

Born October 23, 1914 in White Mills he was the son and last surviving
family member of the late James and Emily Jones Firmstone. A US Army
Veteran of World War II, he served with the 109th Infantry where he
achieved the rank of Sergeant. Bob was a welder and worked for Lumas
Co. and Yuba Co. in Honesdale. Later he and his family moved to New
Jersey where he worked for General Motors. After retiring, he and his
family returned to Honesdale where he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting,
fishing, telling stories and spending time with his family. He was a
life long member of the Alerts Fire Co. #2.

Bob will be remembered as a loving husband,  Father, grandfather and friend.

Also surviving is his son Roger Firmstone and wife Cathy of Honesdale;
 daughters Judy Haney of Hawley and Sharon Meszler and husband Rembert
Sr. of Honesdale; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 PM at the Hessling Funeral
Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale by the Rev. Arthur Harshman, chaplain of
Diakon Hospice St. John. Friends may visit the funeral home on
Saturday from 1 until service time. As per his request, cremation
will follow and interment will be in Indian Orchard Cemetery.

Helen E. Coacci
Helen E. Coacci, 78 of Damascus, PA, passed away on April 19, 2008 at
her home following an illness. She was preceded in death by her
husband Julio "Johnny" Coacci who died Feb. 12, 1996. The couple
married in 1953 in Greenpoint Brooklyn.

Born January 30, 1930 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn she was the daughter of
the late John and Stella Lasko. Later she and her family moved to New
Jersey. After retiring in 1994 she and her husband moved to
Pennsylvania.

Helen enjoyed playing Bingo and trips to Atlantic City. She was a
member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale, and attended
St. Joseph's Church in Rileyville and St. Francis Xavier Church in
Narrowsburg; and was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 531.

Helen will be remembered as a loving housewfie, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her sons Tom Coacci and wife Cecilia of Damascus and
Jimmy Coacci and wife Lori of Sayreville, NJ; a brother Fred Lasko of
Bethpage, Long Island; a sister Anna Mazanowski of Greenpoint,
Brooklyn; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Leo, Michael, and Nicholas Lasko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at St. Joseph's
Church in Rileyville at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Hillside
Cemetery in Damascus. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home,
428 Main St. Honesdale on Friday from 5-8.

Memorials may be made to the Damascus Volunteer Ambulance Corp., P.O.
Box 63, Damascus, PA 18415.

Harold John Lauritano
Harold John Lauritano, 96 of Honesdale died Wednesday April 23, 2008
at Wayne Woodlands Manor. He was preceded in death by his wife, the
former Eugenia M. Hartmann.

Born March 29, 1912 in Harlem, NY he was the son of the late Phillip
and Helen Lauritano. He was a proud US Navy Veteran of WWII. Later
he worked at J.M. Hughes Co. in New York as an Architect. Harold was
active in the Hamlin Senior Citizen Center where he enjoyed dancing
and trips with friends. Among his many hobbies were collecting toy
trains, antique cars, flying, and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving is his son Harold Allen Lauritano and wife Le Lauritano of
Lake Ariel.

As per his request cremation will be held at Maple Hill at Salem
Crematory. The Family will receive friends at the Hessling Funeral
Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Monday from 2-4.

Mary Ann Ennis
Mary Ann Ennis, RN, 69 of Honesdale, died Monday April 21, 2008 at
Wayne Memorial Hospital Hospice. She is survived by her husband of 46
years, Gerald J. Ennis. The couple married Oct. 28, 1961.

Born August 15, 1938 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late
Robert E. and Helen R. Smith Higgins. She was a graduate of
Honesdale Catholic High School class of 1956 and later from St.
Joseph's School of Nursing in Patterson, NJ. Upon graduating, Mary
worked at Veteran's Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and later returned to
Honesdale where she worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital in various
departments for 40 years.

A caring and compassionate woman, Mary volunteered at the American Red
Cross and at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. John
the Evangelist Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society, the Private
Duty Nurses Assoc., and the Red Hat Society.

Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
friend who truly cared about people.

Also surviving is her daughter Anne Marie and husband Robert McGinley
of Glen Dale, MD; sisters Kathy Higgins of Honesdale and Margaret and
husband James Seidel of Clarks Summit; grandchildren Kathleen and
Thomas McGinley and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen
Church in Honesdale on Friday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in St.
Mary's Cemetery. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428
Main St. Honesdale on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Harry D. Propst Wayne
Memorial Family Fund, 601 Park St. Honesdale, PA 18431.

Robert "Bob" Frank Gullone
Robert "Bob" Frank Gullone, 66 of Millanville died April 12, 2008 at
The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He was preceded in death by his
wife, the former Dolores A. Hutchison who died Jan. 16, 2003. The
couple married Sept. 12, 1964.

Born August 7, 1941 in New York City, he was the son of the late Frank
and Anne Smith Gullone. He was a US Army veteran serving in Paris as
a Cryptographer during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he
followed the family tradition, owning and operating The Rail Diner in
Paterson, NJ. Later he became a patrolman and detective with the
Montville Police Dept. where he served for 8 years. After retiring he
moved with his family in 1981 to Milanville where they had a vacation
home since 1976.

Soon after moving he and his wife Dolores built and ran the family
restaurant, Mustard's Last Stand in Indian Orchard. After many years
of working he and his wife sold the restaurant. Not content with early
retirement, they then purchased a local deli in Honesdale and together
ran Northside Market until retiring.

With a passion for firearms, Bob pursued this passion and became a
renowned firearms consultant in the area. He was also an active
lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his sons Jeffrey Gullone and wife Margaret of
Calkins and David Gullone and Macella of Scranton; a sister Judith
and husband Jack Fagan of NC; grandchildren Megan, Rachel, Lauren and
Ryan; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428
Main St. Honesdale at 1 PM by  Father Edward Finn. Interment will
follow in Calkins Union Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home
on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9.

Kimberly Lee Vannatta
Kimberly Lee Vannatta, 29 of Honesdale died unexpectedly Saturday
April 12, 2008 at her home.

Born June 8, 1978 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of Daniel
Vannatta of South Carolina and Ernestina "Tina" Patten with whom she
resided. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School.

Also surviving is her son Shawn Malick Vannatta at home; a brother
Christopher and wife Felicia Williams of Honesdale; nieces Taylor,
Kailey, and Rebecca Williams and good friend Connie Conklin.

As per her request, cremation was held at Maple Hill Crematory in
Archbald. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Olga Mary Mitchko
Olga Mary Mitchko, 89 of Honesdale, PA (Fallsdale) and formerly of
Boonton, NJ died April 12, 2008 at her home. She was preceded in
death by her husband George A. Mitchko who died Feb. 29, 2000.

Born May 13, 1918 in Newark, NJ she was the daughter of the late
Willum and Bertha Moesle Schaefer. She was a graduate of Boonton High
School and later at William Patterson University with a masters in
Education Guidance. After graduating she taught 7th and 8th grades in
Lincoln Park and later was a guidance counselor at Boonton High School
until retiring.

Olga was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish and attended St.
Joseph's Church in Rileyville.

Surviving are her sons Peter Mitchko and wife Constance of Ringoes, NJ
and Rev. James Mitchko of Tyler Hill, PA;  daughters Mary Mitchko of
Franklin, NJ and Joyce Sheridan and husband John of Skillman, NJ;
grandchildren Jeffrey, Matthew, Mark, Daniel, Timothy and Valerie;
great grandchildren Quinton, Caroline and John Patrick Sheridan III.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in
Rileyville on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in St.
Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428
Main St. Honesdale, PA on Tuesday from 5-8 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Damascus Vol. Ambulance, PO
Box 63, Damascus, PA 18415.

Victoria G. Dulay
Victoria G. Dulay, 63 of Honesdale, died Thursday at Geisinger Medical
Center in Wilkes Barre.

Born May 10, 1944 at the family home in Pleasant Mount she was the
daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Yaworski Komar. A caregiver
and loving mother she enjoyed being with her family especially her
grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo and being with the friends
she made there.

Surviving are her sons Timothy Dulay and wife Adah, Kevin Dulay and
Mark Dulay and fiancee Carrie all of Honesdale; a brother John Komar
of Honedsale; sisters Mary Nebzydoski of Pleasant Mount and Josephine
Astarb of Washington, NJ; and grandchildren Megan and Kyle Dulay.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Alex and Anthony Komar;
sisters Jennie Malinski, Helen McCarthy, Anna Wroblewski, Antoinette
Komar, Irene Komar and Frances Bates.

As per her request, cremation was held at Maple Hill Crematory.
Funeral services will be private at the families convenience.
Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Gloria Kuester
Gloria Kuester, of Beach Lake died peacefully in her sleep April 7, 2008.

Born in Nanticoke, PA she was the daughter of the late Sophie Virginia
Grabowski. She was a graduate of Northwest High School in Shickshinny
and later attended Beauty School. Before moving to Beach Lake, she ran a
Beauty Shop in Wilkes Barre. A resident of Beach Lake for over 35 years,
she along with her ex-husband
Robert W. Kuester owned and operated Kuester's Inc.

Surviving is her daughter Gloria B. Kuester; son Tom Maransky of
Sweet Valley, PA and granddaughter Trent Amber Maransky of Mio, MI.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and Dennis Vitz and
Eugene Musial.

Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on
Friday from 6-8. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 AM
in Indian Orchard Cemetery.
