Roy L. Sollenberger
Roy L. Sollenberger, 82, who had been living with his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and James Eaton of 4625 Railroad Road, Chambersburg, and was formerly of 3583 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle, died at 2 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2006 in his home.

Harold M. Zimmerman
Harold M. Zimmerman, 82, of 59 Homestead Drive, Greencastle, died at 10:46 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006 in the Waynesboro Hospital.

Annabelle M. Sherman
Annabelle M. Sherman, 67, of Charles Town, W. Va., died Saturday, June 3 at her home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Hilda L. Cordell
Hilda L. (Kiser) Cordell, 76, of 8861 Molly Pitcher Highway, Greencastle, died unexpectedly at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Sept. 24, 1929 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Thelma (Grove) Kiser.

Mrs. Cordell was a 1947 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She was a homemaker and in her earlier years she was employed at the former Stanley Company of Chambersburg.

Mrs. Cordell was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Greencastle, where she was a member of the Nurture and Outreach Committee and member and former president of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

She was a volunteer at the Quincy United Methodist Home.

Mrs. Cordell enjoyed gardening and caning.

She and her husband, Donald R. Cordell, were married Sept. 3, 1949 in the former Evangelical United Brethren Church, Greencastle.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Sandra E. Domer of Chambersburg; two sons, Larry D. Cordell and Brian R. Cordell, both of Greencastle; a sister, Jean Wingert of Victorville, Calif.; two brothers, Donald Kiser of Greencastle and Lowell Kiser of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held the morning of Monday, March 20 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Stacy Crawford officiating.

Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery, Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 45 N. Washington St., Greencastle, Pa. 17225.

Kenneth F. Mowen
Kenneth F. Mowen, 84, of 141 Pensinger Road, Greencastle, died at 12:12 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Roy M. Bishop
Roy M. Bishop, 89, a resident of Country Court Nursing Center, Mount Vernon, Ohio, and formerly of Bellville, Ohio and Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg, died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 in the nursing center.

Born March 8, 1917 in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late Luther Bishop and Fannie (Gress) Bishop Hess.

He was a truck driver and had worked at Fairchild Aircraft, Letterkenny Army Depot and last for Charles Karper Trucking, Chambersburg.

Mr. Bishop was a member of the Owl Creek Church Of The Brethren in Ohio and formerly attended Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church, near Greencastle.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

Mr. Bishop enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minerva (Stoner) Bishop, on March 18, 1972 and by his second wife, Rhama (Swank) Bishop, on Oct. 21, 2002.

He is survived by a daughter, Maxine (Mrs. James) Forney of Chambersburg; a grandson, James Forney Jr. of Chambersburg; two sisters, Martha Deshong of Greencastle and Bertha Perry of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held the morning of Wednesday, March 15 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Floyd Myers officiating.

Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery, Greencastle.

Carl "Ike" Kell
Carl Welty "Ike" Kell, 82, of Funkstown, died, Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Vesta L. Martin
Vesta L. (Baranowske) Martin, 71, of 12385 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg, died at 5:20 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2006, in the Chambersburg Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past several years and critically ill for the past two days.

Janet E. Morganthall
Janet E. (Devor) Morganthall, 84, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home since December 2003 and formerly of 130 Fairview Ave., Waynesboro, for 52 years died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the nursing home.

Ellis H. "Bing" Bingaman
Ellis H. "Bing" Bingaman, 60, of Slabtown Road, Waynesboro, died at 9:20 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 in his home. He was in failing health for the past four years and critically ill for the past month.

Robert L. "Bob" Myers
Robert L. "Bob" Myers, 92, a resident of assisted living in Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of Quincy Village and Waynesboro, died at 4 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2006 in the nursing home. He was in failing health since November 2005 and became critically ill in late November.

Born Oct. 6, 1913 in Greencastle, he was the son of the late Victor H. and Isabel (Strite) Myers. He lived his early life in Greencastle and Waynesboro.

Mr. Myers graduated from Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1932.

He served in the United States Army during World War II, serving with the 29th Infantry Division, then was commissioned in the Ordinance Department and served in the European Theater.

He was married to his first wife, Mary (Walter) Myers on Oct. 26, 1940. She died in November 1976. He married his second wife, Louise (Flickinger) Frankforter Myers in April 1978. They moved from Waynesboro to Quincy Village and then to assisted living in the nursing home.

Mr. Myers was co-owner of Beck & Benedict Hardware, Inc., Waynesboro, and then became a salesman for Roberts Chevrolet and later was employed in the circulation department of the Washington Post Newspaper. Prior to retiring in 1991, he was a real estate agent for Ausherman brothers Real Estate, Waynesboro.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where he served as head usher for a number of years. He was a member and past president of the Waynesboro Lions Club; member of the South Chapter 2977 AARP; national AARP; B.P.O. Elks Lodge #731; Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 for over 50 years; Eagles Club, Inc.; Acadia Lodge Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 586, all of Waynesboro.

Mr. Myers was also a member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 320, Valley, Harrisburg; Zembo Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Harrisburg, Pa.; National Sojourners; Pen Mar Chapter 532; South Penn Scottish Rite Club; Franklin County Shrine Club; Waynesboro Historical Society; Renfrew Museum; Pen Mar Dance Club and a life member of Mechanics S.F.E. Hose Company #1, Waynesboro. He also served on the board of directors of Hearthstone Retirement Home, Waynesboro and was a member and past president of the Waynesboro Foreign Exchange Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two  daughters, Roberta A. Bellomy of Vancouver, Wash.; Mary E. Hansbrough of Tucson, Ariz.; two step-sons, Dr. A. Daniel Frankforter of Erie; David A. Frankforter of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, A. Elizabeth Eck.

Services were held the afternoon of Saturday, March 18 in the Hess Room of Minnich-Manor of Quincy Retirement Community with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook and Rev. John A. Ile officiating.

Burial was in Green Hill cemetery, Waynesboro.

Masonic memorial services were conducted by his lodge Saturday, March 18 in the Hess Room.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolent Care Fund of Quincy Retirement Community, P.O. Box 217, Quincy, Pa. 17247.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro was in charge of the arrangements.

Warren R. Martin
Warren R. Martin, 73, of 19226 Woodhaven Dr., Hagerstown, Md. died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in his home.

Born Feb. 19, 1933 in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Anna Mae (Risser) Martin.

He was the owner and operator of Warren Martin's Garage, Maugansville, Md. since 1960.

Mr. Martin was a member of the Paradise Mennonite Church, Hagerstown.

His first wife, Lois M. (Horst), died Aug. 3, 1997.

He and his second wife, Naomi R. (Martin) Diller Martin, were married June 20, 1998.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael L. Martin of Maugansville, Marshall L. Martin of Hagerstown and Bruce J. Martin of Greencastle; two stepsons, Larry R. Diller of Myerstown and Lamar J. Diller of Chambersburg; three stepdaughters, Lucille Little of Hagerstown, Lorraine Ebersole of Denver and Ella Mae Martin of Womelsdorf; one brother, Harold E. Martin of Waynesboro; two sisters, Alice Graybill and Rose Martin, both of Waynesboro; 10 grandchildren; 21 step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Eldon R. Diller.

Services were held the morning of Wednesday, April 19 in Millers Mennonite Church, near Leitersburg, with Bishops Darrel Martin and Dale Horst, Ministers Enos Rudolph and James Hostetter and Deacon Wilmer Eby officiating.

Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.

C. Geraldine Myers
C. Geraldine (Mummart) Myers, 86, a resident of Avalon Manor Health Care Center Hagerstown, Md. and formerly of Mercersburg Road, Greencastle, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006 in the health care center.

Pauline I. (Albin) Martin
Pauline I. (Albin) Martin, 78, of 6946 Molly Pitcher Highway South, Chambersburg, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, April 11, 2006 in her home.

Born April 16, 1927 in Leitersburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Cora (Strite) Albin.

She and her husband, Gerald W. Martin, were married May 10, 1947 in Leitersburg.

Mrs. Martin and her husband owned and operated the former Cloverbloom Farm Market, Marion.

She was a member of the Salem Ridge Mennonite Church, near Greencastle, where she taught Children's and Adult Women's Sunday School Classes, Vacation Bible School and was a member of the church sewing circle.

Mrs. Martin taught the Release Time Bible Class in Greencastle and Marion for 30 years.

She helped coordinate the Mennonite Central Committee Meat Canning Project and housed the full-time volunteers of the project in her home for more than 29 years. She also was involved in several other relief projects throughout the years.

Mrs. Martin enjoyed flowers and spending time with family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two  daughters, Sherilyn K. Martin of Orrstown and Karalee S. Frey of Waynesboro; two sons, Darwin R. Martin of Chambersburg, and Wendell L. Martin of Greencastle; two sisters, Ethel Hostetter and Edith Eby Horst, both of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, Lester Albin of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Larion J. Martin.

Services were held the morning of Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Salem Ridge Mennonite Church, Greencastle, with Pastors Roger Martin and G. Joseph Martin officiating.

Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Christian Aid Ministries, P.O. Box 360, Berlin, Ohio 44610.

Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Joseph F. Long
Joseph F. "Joe" Long, 90, a resident of Penn Hall, Chambersburg, since July 11, 2005 and formerly of 12169 Mercersburg Road, Greencastle, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday April 21, 2006 in the Penn Hall Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 28, 1915 in Maugansville, Md., he was the son of the late J. Franklin and Katie Susan (Grossnickle) Long.

He was a lifelong farmer and in his younger years he had also worked as a telephone linesman.

Mr. Long was a member of the Welsh Run Church of The Brethren, near Mercersburg, where he served as a life deacon, church treasurer, trustee and as a Sunday School teacher.

He also served on the Tuscarora School Board; as a director of the Farmers Bank in Mercersburg; and as a board member of the Fahrney-Keedy Home, Boonsboro, Md.

Mr. Long also served on the district board of the Middle Maryland Church Conference and was a member of the Franklin County Farmer's Association.

He was a 1934 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

Mr. Long enjoyed going hunting.

He and his wife, Catherine (Haldeman) Long, a resident of Penn Hall, Chambersburg were married March 15, 1941 in Greencastle.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by four sons, J. Daniel Long of Greencastle, Paul Edward Long of Lowville, N.Y., James H. Long and Marvin T. Long, both of Greencastle; a daughter, Verna Ruth Rice of Waynesboro; a brother, John D. Long of Penn Hall, Chambersburg; two sisters, Kathryn S. Long, a resident of Fahrney-Keedy Home, Boonsboro, and Myrtle Haldeman of Hagerstown, Md.; 22 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Maynard Eugene Long in 1991, and a grandson, Terrance Allen Long, in 1997.

Services were held the morning of Wednesday, April 26, in the Welsh Run Church Of The Brethren, Mercersburg, with Ministers Henry Hunsberger, Bill Spangler and James Kent officiating.

Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Brethren Revival Fellowship, C/O Carl L. Brubaker, 1425 Furnace Hills Pike. Lititz, Pa. 17543.
