Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Mr. Kenneth Zimmerman Sr.
Mr. Kenneth Eugene Zimmerman Sr., 75, of Frederick, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at the Citizens
Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick. He was the husband of Mrs. Corrine Yingling
Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman was born in Frederick, January 9, 1933, he was a son of the late Karl W. Sr., and
Margaret Messner Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman proudly served his country in the United States Army, from 1953 to 1955, during
the Korean War. He was retired from the Department of the Army at Fort Detrick in Frederick,
where he worked as an accountant. He was a member of NARFE and the Korean War Veterans
Chapter 142 Frederick. He enjoyed playing tennis and bridge.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Kenneth E. Zimmerman Jr., and Darlene of Conway,
SC and Kevin L. Zimmerman of Chula Vista, Calif.; one brother, Karl W. Zimmerman Jr. of
Frederick; and several nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, at the Keeney and Basford
Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday,
March 6, from the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. George G. Earle Jr., pastor of Centennial Memorial
United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

Mr. David Bouton
David Bouton died suddenly on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at his home in Frederick. David was the
son of Clark Bouton and Phyllis Loew Bouton.
He is survived by his  Father and his brothers, Robert, of Mount Rainier, and Michael, of Whitefield,
N.H. He was predeceased by his mother and his sister, Lee Ella Bouton, of Frederick.
David was a brilliant young man who was stricken with schizophrenia in his college years and
struggled afterwards to maintain a stable, if restricted, life. He will be missed and remembered.
The viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening, March 4, at the Keeney and Basford
Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.

Mrs. Margaret Creager
Margaret Louise Titus Creager, 93, formerly a resident of Northampton Manor
of five years, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Guy R. Creager, to whom she was married for
50 years.
Born Feb. 7, 1914 near Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Lee
Fitzhugh and Mary G. Stoneburner Titus.
Mrs. Creager was a graduate from Brunswick High School and Towson
University. She taught in the public schools of Frederick County during the
1930s and the 1940s, and after her marriage, she devoted most of her life to
being a homemaker. Mrs. Creager was a devout Lutheran in her early years
and belonged to the Bethany Lutheran Church of Brunswick. She later
became a member of the Walkersville Lutheran Church, and currently she
was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick.
Mrs. Creager is survived by her daughter, Joanne Creager Meitzler of
Frederick and fiancˇe, William Cooperman of Allentown, Pa.; her son, Dr.
Allan R. Creager and wife, Shirley, of Finksburg; three grandchildren, Patricia
Anne Davis and husband, Doug, of Jefferson, Matthew Creager Meitzler and
wife, Sherry, of Thurmont, and Sarah Eatmon Creager of Finksburg; one
great-grandson, Kobi Sheng-An Meitzler; and sister, Barbara Titus Reidt of
Frederick. She is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Creager was preceded in death by her sister, Ellener Titus Norris, who
died in 1984.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21,
at the Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, from the
funeral home. Rev. Dr. David G. Oravec, her pastor, will officiate. Interment
will be at the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
Pallbearers for service, George T. Norris, nephew; Dwight T. Taymon,
nephew; Dr. Frederick T. Farra, nephew; Richard C.C. Basford, cousin;
George D. Basford, cousin; and Doug Davis, grandson-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evangelical Lutheran
Church, 31 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701 or the Activities Department
of Northampton Manor, 200 E. 16th St., Frederick, MD 21701.

Mr. Harry King Jr.
Mr. Harry Clinton King Jr., 84, of Braddock Heights, died on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at
the Golden Living Center, in Frederick. Born in Brunswick, on July 28, 1923, he was a
son of the late Harry Clinton Sr., and Esther May Stottlemyer King.
Mr. King proudly served his country in the United States Army, 13th Armored Black
Cat Division, during WWII. He was retired from the government as a general
engineer, having worked at Fort Detrick. After his retirement, he worked for C.A. Bud
King Plumbling and Heating.
He was a life-member of Braddock Heights Fire Company, VFW John R. Webb Post
3285, Frederick, Francis Scott Key American Legion Post 11, and was life-member
and past Governor of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1582, Brunswick.
Surviving are his two brothers, Kenneth E. King Sr., and wife, Blanche, of Frederick,
and Earl M. King and wife, Virginia, of Walkersville, and several cousins, nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John B. King and a sister, Hilda M. Poole.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Keeney
and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be
held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, from the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. W. Philip
Fogarty, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

Ms. Kathleen Krantz
Bertha Kathleen Putman Krantz, of Frederick, passed into eternal rest on
Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008. She was born Nov. 1, 1922, the daughter of the late
Raymond C. and Bertha Zimmerman Putman. Mrs. Krantz was the wife of the late
Franklin J. "Hank" Krantz Sr.
She was the beloved sister of Charles W. Putman, Thurmont, and R. Randolph
Putman, of Martinsburg, W.Va., and was preceded in death by a brother, Austin Z.
Putman.
Kathleen "Kay" Krantz is survived by several nieces and nephews, Marilee Putman
McKissick, Thurmont, Barbara Putman Poole, New Market, Austin Z. Putman Jr.,
Smithsburg, Judy Putman Repp, Johnsville, Emily Putman Cavaniss, Frederick, Gwyn
Putman White, Smithsburg and R. Randolph Putman II, Mississippi. She was
preceded in death by a niece, Ann Putman Keller.
Kathleen is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as a
step-daughter, Sandra L. Krantz of Frederick. She was preceded in death by a stepson,
Franklin J. "Jay" Krantz, Jr.
Kay is remembered by a faithful cousin, Robert Dutrow, and dear friends, Lillie and
Dannie Stansbury.
During her working career, Mrs. Krantz was the office nurse for Drs. B.O. Sr and
Jimmy Thomas, and later Dr. Rex Martin. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran
Church and was active in her retirement with the Busy Bees, which included helping
at the auctions at the Md. 15 Auction House.
The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Catherine's
Nursing Center, Emmitsburg, for the wonderful care they provided to our sister and
aunt.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4 at the Keeney and
Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in
Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
The family requests memorial remembrances be sent to St. Catherine's Nursing
Center, 330 South Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.

Mr. Kenneth Luhn
Kenneth W. Luhn, 73, of Boonsboro, died Sunday Feb. 24, 2008, at his home. He was the husband
of Mrs. Pat Spade Luhn. Mr. and Mrs. Luhn were to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this
April.
Born Nov. 30, 1932, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Charles B. Sr. and Helen Smith Luhn.
Mr. Luhn was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during the Korean War. During his
working life, he owned and operated Kenneth W. Luhn and sons Oil Burner Business and further
worked for East ALCO until his retirement in 1988. He was a family man, a man of faith and a
member of the Locust Valley Bible Church.
In addition to his wife Patsy, Mr. Luhn is survived by his son, William B. Luhn and wife, Elizabeth of
Boonsboro; his grandchildren, Heather and Bradley Luhn, Eric and Emily Ahalt; his brothers, Charles
Jr. and wife, Anne, Lester M. and James R. and wife, Mary Frances.
Mr. Luhn was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Estelle Luhn and his sister-in-law, Margaret
Virginia Luhn.
Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Keeney And Basford, P.A.,
Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
Memorial services will held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Pastor William Wyand will
officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Broadfording Christian Academy, 13535
Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Mr. James Maguire
Mr. James Robert Maguire, 71, of Lancaster, Pa., died on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at the Vindobona
Nursing Center, Frederick.
Born October 6, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was a son of the late Robert Howard and Ellen Lecky
Maguire. Mr. Maguire garaduated from high school in 1954 and worked for more than 42 years for
the Lumsdon Corpoartion, where he retired as the shipping and receiving manager. He was an avid
photographer and enjoyed Nascar racing. Mr. Maguire loved history and spent much time learning
about World War II history and studied vintage World War II aircraft and aviation. He was a
member of AARP.
He is survived by two  daughters, Kathleen E. Maguire, of Frederick, and Amy E. Calhoun, of Lithia,
Fla.; and six grandchildren, Bryan Waters, Samantha Czeh, Emily Maguire, James Bodden, Anna
Calhoun and Taylor Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Scottie Lynn Maguire, in 2000.
There will be no calling or visitation at the funeral home. Graveside interment services will be held
at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Mellinger Mennonite cemetery, 1916 Lincoln Highway East,
Lancaster, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
The Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Floatella Riggs
Floatella Carbaugh Riggs, 73, of Thurmont (formerly of Jefferson), died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at
the Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born on July 16, 1934, she was predeceased by her parents,
Joseph A. Carbaugh and Clara Chew Carbaugh of Frederick, a sister, Dorothy V. Dade of Jefferson,
and a sister-in-law, Bessie "Peck" Carbaugh, of Jefferson.
A 1952 alumni of Frederick High School, Mrs. Riggs was a member of Lunch Bunch. She was a lifelong
member of Harriet Chapel, Thurmont, where she served as church secretary for several years.-
-She was a former member of the Brunswick Chapter of Jobs  daughters. Mrs. Riggs was a current
member of the Plymouth Chapter #41 order of Eastern Star; she served as Worthy Matron in the
year 1991 and 1992. Mrs. Riggs was also a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Jefferson
Volunteer Fire Company. Mrs. Riggs is a retiree of F&M Bank, having worked as a bank teller and
later in HR and the Comptrollers Division as a secretary. Mrs. Riggs also volunteered for Hospice of
Frederick County.
She is survived by a brother, Harry F. Carbaugh Sr., of Jefferson; a former husband James W. Riggs
Sr., of Berkley Springs Rehab & Nursing, W.Va.; a former brother-in-law, Stanley Dade, of
Jefferson; a daughter, Lynne R. Gartrell of Greencastle, Pa.; a son, James W. Riggs Jr. and his wife,
Lisa Riggs, of Buckeystown; and six grandchildren, Jamie Lynne Gartrell, David Gartrell, James W.
Riggs III, Catlin Riggs, Laceyann Riggs, and Thomas Riggs. She also is survived by many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at the Keeney & Basford P.A.
Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 7 at the Harriet Chapel, Catoctin Episcopal Parish, 12625 Catoctin Furnace Road, Thurmont,
MD 21788. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Riggs name to Hospice of
Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.

Mrs. Geraldine Siedling
Geraldine June Siedling, 88, of Frederick, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at her home. She was the
wife of the late Edward T. Siedling, who passed away Nov. 24, 2007.
Born July 12, 1919 in Highland, she was the daughter of the late William and Mamie Gilbert
Firestone.
Mrs. Siedling was a member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren and a member of the Ladies
Auxiliary of the Salvation Army. During her working years, Mrs. Siedling worked at the Frederick
Tailoring Company and with her co- workers created and belonged to the Dopey sisters Club. She
enjoyed time spent sewing, cooking, antiquing, gardening and caring for her family.
Mrs. Siedling is survived by her son, William E. Siedling and his wife, Patricia, of Frederick; her
daughter, Treva D. Siedling and her husband, Ted Manakas, of Frederick; her grandchildren, Kristen
Curtis and husband, Brad, Kip and Kara Siedling, Channing Monti and wife, Mary Lillie, and Shelly
Simpson and husband, Michael; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She
will be remembered by her special friends, Helen Swanson, Charlotte Lee, Frances Mayo, Peggy
Price, Dean Bennett, Lee and Seymour Stern, and the many care givers from Senior Home Care.
Mrs. Siedling was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Gibbons, Virginia Ford and Lorraine
DeLauter.
Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at the Keeney and Basford
P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799,
Frederick, MD 21702-1799.
