GEORGE A. PFANSTIEL
George A. Pfanstiel, 76, of Worcester, died July 7, 2001. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Irwin) Pfanstiel.

ALICE SALTMER
Alice (Casey) Saltmer, 87, of Lansdale, died Sunday morning, July 8, 2001, at North Penn Hospital. She had been in failing health. She was the wife of the late Howard Saltmer, who died in May of 1960.

LUTHER S. THOMAS SR.
Luther S. Thomas Sr., 86, of Lansdale, formerly of North Wales, died Sunday, July 8, 2001, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill. He was the husband of the late Gwendolyn Anne (Evans) Thomas, who died in 1979. The couple had been married for 46 years.

RALPH W. DAVIS
Ralph W. Davis, age 92, died Monday morning, July 9, 2001, at his residence in Hatfield. He was the husband of 61 years of Eleanor (Gill) Davis.

JEAN DePASQUALE
Jean DePasquale, 91, of St. Mary Manor in Lansdale, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at North Penn Hospital. She had been in failing health.

STEPHEN W. HANNA
Stephen W. Hanna, 57, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wilma S. (Schmitt) Hanna. Formerly of Hatfield, he resided in Atlantic City, NJ.

MICHAEL J. RATHGEBER
Michael J. Rathgeber, 65, of Buckingham Township, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dena (Giovinazzo) Rathgeber.

JOSEPH H. STATUTI
Joseph H. Statuti, age 84, of Lansdale, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, in St. Mary Manor, Lansdale. He was the husband of Rhoda E. (Cox) Statuti. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 27.

STEPHAN M. MIHALKO
Stephan M. Mihalko, age 39, of Palm Springs, CA, formerly of Perkasie, died July 5, 2001. He was the beloved son of Lorraine (Mihalko) Siemers and her husband, Galen, of Bridgeville, and Emil S. Mihalko of Wrightstown, NJ.

ANGELINA MICELI
Angelina Miceli, 85, of Lansdale, died July 14, 2001, in North Penn Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartholomew Miceli.
Born in Queens, NY, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosaria (Peppitone) Guccione.
Mrs. Miceli had lived for many years in Centereach, Long Island, NY, until the passing of her husband in 1993, when she moved to Lansdale to be near family here.
She attended St. Stanislaus Church and the North Penn Adult Day Care Center in Lansdale.
Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Slater and her husband, Edward, of Lansdale; a son, Peter J. Miceli and his wife, Bernice, of Centereach; three grandchildren, Christine Camper, Joseph Yeni Jr. and Nicole Miceli; and one great-granddaughter, Marissa Lynn Camper; one brother, Dr. Quentin A. Guccione and his wife, Geraldine; and one sister, Josephine Dube, all of Needham, MA.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Angelo Guccione and Dr. Issadore J. Guccione.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Derstine and Cannon Avenues, Lansdale, Wednesday, July 18, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM and to attend her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Church, Lansdale. Interment , Our Lady of Czestochowa cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions in her name to Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19104.

LULA MAY SINGER
Lula May Singer, 78, died early Saturday morning, July 14, 2001, in Dock Terrace, where she had resided since June 8.
She was the wife of Albert P. Singer, and they would have observed their 47th wedding anniversary in December. Mr. and Mrs. Singer lived in Lansdale more than 25 years before moving to Souderton in 1992.
She was born in Chincoteague, VA, a daughter of the late Lloyd T. and Elsie H. (Bloxom) Hudson.
Mrs. Singer graduated cum laude from Maryville College, TN in 1951.
Prior to her marriage, she taught school at an orphanage in Sevierville, TN for about four years. For a brief time, Mrs. Singer taught first grade at the former Hatfield Elementary School. In 1978 she trained in Rochester, MI at the Leader Dog School for the Blind and received a Leader dog to assist her in her daily life.
She was a member of Hope Fellowship. Her family proudly remembers that her faith in God was first and foremost in her life, which she relayed to everyone who was privileged to meet her. She had also been active in Make Today Count at North Penn Hospital.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Dawn R. Kramer and her husband, Scott, of Telford; a daughter-in-law, Genia Singer of Colmar; and four grandchildren, Brad and Amber Kramer and Jessica and Nicole Singer. Also surviving are three brothers, Robert Hudson and his wife, Helen, of Carlisle, Ira Hudson and his wife, Frances, of Chincoteague, and William Hudson and his wife, Connie, of Oak Hall, VA; two sisters, Florence Merritt and her husband, Harvey, of Pocomoke City, MD, and Betty Singer and her husband, Linford, of Lansdale.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service Wednesday, July 18, at 2:00 PM in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, where friends may call after 1:00 PM. Interment , Greenlawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 527 W. Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914.

ELIZABETH AUGUSTA WOERMANN
Elizabeth Augusta Woermann, 96, died Saturday morning, July 14, 2001, in the Medical Care Facility of Normandy Farms Estates.
She had been married for more than 67 years to the late Henry W. Woermann, who died in 1996. A former, longtime resident of Wood Haven, NY, she lived at Normandy Farms Estates since 1987.
She was born in Stettin, Germany, a daughter of the late August and Margarethe (Koch) Kootz and arrived in the United States, at Ellis Island, in 1925.
Mrs. Woermann will be remembered as being an appreciative and caring lady who delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Inge Coleman and her husband, John, of Lansdale; three grandchildren, Scott Rau and his wife, Melissa, of Pottstown, and their daughter, Casey; Lisa Rau Corr and her husband, Kevin, of Colmar, and their children, Tyler and Alison; and Andrew Rau and his wife, Courtney, of Berwyn, and their children, William and Ann Elisabeth; four stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Hildegard Giebe of Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dr. Donald Rau, in 1976; two brothers, Adolf and Walter; and four sisters, Marie, Martha, Lotte and Grete.

VINCENT J. BRECHT
Vincent J. Brecht, 82, formerly of North Wales, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Montgomeryville, where he had been a resident for four months.

HELENE R. COCCHIMIGLIO
Helene R. Cocchimiglio, 64, a longtime North Penn area resident, died Monday, July 16, 2001, in the skilled care unit at Peter Becker Community in Harleysville.

CHARLOTTE MAE MITCHELL-HOSTELLEY
Charlotte Mae Mitchell-Hostelley, age 83, formerly of Whiting, NJ, quietly passed away Saturday, July 14, 2001, at the Green Valley Terrace Nursing Home in Millsboro, DE, with family by her side.

IDA L. HOWARD
Ida L. Howard, 80, of Chalfont, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Dock Terrace Nursing Home in Towamencin.

MARJORIE L. PALMER
Marjorie L. Palmer, 77, of Souderton, formerly of Hilltown, was stricken at her residence Sunday, July 15, 2001, and was taken to North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp., where she died shortly after admittance to the emergency room.

HELEN DETWEILER
Helen (Cuzner) Detweiler, 89, died April 11, 2001 in Montana. She was the widow of Norman H. Detweiler.

ANN T. HAHN
Ann T. Hahn, 61, of Horsham Twp., died Friday morning, April 27, 2001, at her residence. She had been in failing health for 10 months. She was the wife of Thomas A. Hahn. The couple had been married for 40 years. Formerly of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, she lived in Horsham Twp. since 1984.

FRANCES K. KOONS
Frances K. Koons, 73, of Harleysville, formerly of Telford, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp., where she was a medical patient for several weeks. She had been in failing health for several months.
Born in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late George C. and Grace (Crosgrove) Crowell. Formerly of the Telford and Salfordville areas, Mrs. Koons moved to her current address in Harleysville in March of 2000.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by three  daughters, Christine M. Alderfer of Schwenksville, Susan E. Osberg and her husband, John, of Marietta, GA and Martha E. Koons of Minneapolis, MN; three sons, Mark S. Koons of Rohnert Park, CA, Matthew C. Koons and his wife, Jennifer, of Santa Rosa, CA and Andrew T. Koons of Dublin; and five grandchildren, Zackery R., Aaron K. and Courtney A. Alderfer, Christian C. Osberg and Devin B. Koons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Koons, in 1955; and a sister, Judith Crowell.
Memorial services will held Friday, July 27, at 11 AM in the David R. Sadler Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Those desiring may make memorials in her memory to the skilled nursing unit of Grand View Hospital, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960.

FELIX J. DANIEL
Felix J. Daniel (Daniels), age 90, of West Rockhill Twp., died Monday, July 23, 2001, in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Twp. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Romaine (Fabian) Daniels, who died November 2, 1961.

GORDON J. MEYERS
Gordon Jackson "Jack" Meyers, 79, of Fort Washington, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, in the Artman Home in Ambler, after a brief stay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna A. (Hopwood) Meyers, in 1996.
Born Oct. 2, 1921 in Ambler, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Helen (Gerhart) Meyers. He graduated from the former Ambler High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He worked for the former Keasby & Mattison in Ambler, until it closed. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a postal clerk, in the 30th Street and Fort Washington Offices, until retiring in 1987.
Mr. Meyers was a member of the Wissahickon Fire Company and the L.R.B. Club in Ambler. He was a regular attendee of Church of the Open Door in Fort Washington.
He is survived by two  daughters, Patricia M. Aschoff and her husband, Thorpe, of Lower Gwynedd and Joan E. Sampson and her husband, Gunther, of Hatfield; a granddaughter, Megan Murray of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Benjamin Davis of Hatfield; and a sister, Helen Garritt of Fort Washington.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, July 27, after 10 AM at Church of the Open Door, 1260 Ft. Washington Ave., Fort Washington with a funeral service at 11 AM with the Rev. Glenn Jago officiating. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville. Remembrances in his name made to Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997-0001 would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are by the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, Ambler.

SAMUEL E. NOBLE JR.
Samuel E. Noble Jr., 71, of Hatboro, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Dock Terrace in Towamencin, where he resided since July 5. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (McAnally) Noble, in 1990.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Samuel E., Sr. and Mary (Sanders) Noble. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in World War II.
Mr. Noble was a machinist for O.P. Schuman & sons of Warrington, from where he retired approximately 10 years ago.
He is survived by five children, Judith A. Wood of Bensalem, Samuel E. Noble of Horsham, Michael R. Noble of Telford, Patricia N. Gerlach of Harleysville, and James T. Noble of Collegeville; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his service Tuesday, July 31, at 11 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, Sumneytown Pike, Kulpsville. Visitation hours are from 10 to 11 AM. There will not be a viewing. Interment , Whitemarsh Memorial Park. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 625 W. Ridge Pike, Bldg. A, Suite 100, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Arrangements by the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home in Franconia.

PAUL R. SWARTLEY
Paul R. Swartley, 87, died early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2001, in Dock Terrace, Towamencin. He had been in failing health for the past several months. He was the husband of Eva (Ruth) Swartley and they had observed their 61st wedding anniversary last October.
Born March 31, 1914 in Towamencin Twp., he was the son of the late Willis A. and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Rittenhouse) Swartley. He lived in Towamencin Twp. all his life and moved to the Dock Woods Community in January of 2000.
Mr. Swartley had been employed by Moyer & sons, Inc. of Souderton, until retiring in 1984 at the age of 70.
He was a lifelong member of Plains Mennonite Church in Hatfield.
An avid gardener, he planted and constantly tended to a large vegetable garden and fruit trees. He will also be remembered for the beautiful daffodils that grew in the front lawn of their home each spring.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Eva, are four children, Arlene Wambold and her husband, Claude, of Perkiomenville, Richard Swartley and his wife, Roslyn, of Lederach, Jean Rodenberg and her husband, Steve, of Cincinnati, OH and John P. Swartley and his wife, Karen, of Palmer Lake, CO. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Julia, Leah and Suzanne Swartley; and two sisters, Ada Mininger and her husband, Vernon, of Hatfield and Elizabeth Honsberger and her husband, Calvin, of Collegeville.
A service for relatives and friends will be Friday, July 27, at 10 AM in Plains Mennonite Church, 50 West Orvilla Road, Hatfield, PA 19440. Interment , adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home in Lansdale Thursday evening from 7 to 9 PM and at the church Friday after 9 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Plains Mennonite Church, address above.
