Erla I. Gerhard
Erla I. Gerhard, 81, of Elizabethville, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the Hospice Residence in Linglestown.
Born in Dalmatia, July 3, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Tilly Hoke Brown.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Elizabethville.

Surviving are her husband David; his sister Lois Conley of Manheim; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 11 a.m.. at Salem Lutheran Church in Elizabethville. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

Memorial donations may be sent to her church at 205 W. Main St. Elizabethville, PA 17023 or Hospice of Central PA, 98 S. Enola Drive P.O. Box 266, Enola, PA 17025-0266.

Albert T. Lomman
Albert T. Lomman, 87, of Camp Hill, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, in the Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born June 11, 1917 in Wiconisco, he was the son of the late Emmanuel Petrie and Bessie Perry Lomman.

He retired as a Freight Conductor from Conrail, the former Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, United Transportation Union Local No. 0215 and the Pennsylvania Railroad Retired Men's Association No. 3.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Paulyn E. Taylor Lomman; three children, Lorraine Lomman and George Harris of Chambersburg, Bernard Lomman of Inglis, FL and Diane Dorsheimer of Camp Hill; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 2 p.m., in the Neill Funeral Home, Inc., 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 1 to 2 p.m., in the funeral home. Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Albert T. Lomman to, Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-0036. Neill Funeral Home, Inc., Camp Hill, is in charge of arrangements.

William A. Reinhart
William A. "Speck" Reinhart, 90, of Pine Grove, died Sunday, August 1, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Pine Grove, December 29, 1913, he was a son of the late William and Virgie Felty Reinhart.

He had been employed as a coal miner and then at Penn Dye Finishing, Pine Grove.

He was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, a life member of Hook, Hose and Ladder Fire Company No. 1, Pine Grove, and a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3432, Pine Grove.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Fern I. Umbenhauer, on May 1, 1970; a son, Kenneth, on June 21, 2000; two sisters, Sallie Lehman and Doris Rutter.

Surviving are a daughter, Faye Ann Schneck, with whom he resided; a son, David of Pine Grove; seven granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. The Rev. Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber will officiate. Interment will be in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

Chester C. Reinoehl
Chester C. Reinoehl, 81, of Middletown, formerly of Coal Township, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born in Helfenstein, March 18, 1923, he was a son of the late Charles and Mattie Schreffler Reinoehl.

He was a retired carpenter, having been employed by local lumber companies and later taught carpentry for 17 years at Northumberland County Vocational Technical School, Shamokin, retiring in 1985.

He was a graduate of Penn State University, with a BS degree and a master's degree in education. As a young man he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, working on the Skyline Drive in Virginia and fighting mountain fires in Montana.

He was a veteran of world War II, having served in the US Army as a technician 5th grade in the 38th Calvary in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.

He was a former member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Overlook; the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Mount Tabor Lodge No. 125, Coal Township; and the Masonic Lodge No. 255 F&AM; , Shamokin.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ollie, Florence, and Grace Reinoehl, and an infant sister; and three brothers, Paul and Norman Reinoehl, and an infant brother.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jeanette R. Kramer Reinoehl; a son, Gary A. of Columbia, MD; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 7, at 11 a.m. in the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, with the Rev. Belford L. Bordner officiating. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle J. Engle
Myrtle Jane Engle, 81, of Williamstown, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Gratz, February 12, 1923 she was a daughter the late George and Ertha Williard Whitcomb.

She was a 1942 graduate of the former Williamstown High School, and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Elizabethville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Russel C. Engle, Jr. and a brother, Clair Whitcomb.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Russel C. Engle; a son, Robert J. Engle of Williamstown; three daughters, Hollie A. Bingaman of Williamstown, Lorraine K. Smyk of Tower City and Jane M. Davis of Williamstown; a brother, Marlin Whitcomb of Tower City; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, with Elder Ronald Knorr officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Gratz. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Broad Street, Elizabethville, PA 17023. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of arrangements.

Lewis H. Fessler Jr.
Lewis Harold Fessler Jr., 82, of Pine Grove, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in West Leesport, August 30, 1921, he was a son of the late Louis H. and Mary Kathryn Graeff Fessler.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal in Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, New Britain and Peleliu, Palau Islands. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Honorable Service Lapel Button.
He was employed at Holli Hosiery, and owned and operated the Hans C. Bick Co., Reading.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3432 and American Legion Post 374, all of Pine Grove, 1st Marine Division Association, AMVETS Post 0114, Summit Station, and the Guadalcanal Campaign Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Barbara A. Graver, on January 9.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret K. Hoffman of Reading; a step-daughter, Daphne Dee Miller of Reading; a step-son, John L. Bowers of Arizona; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services for Lewis and Barbara Fessler will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Laureldale Cemetery, Reading. The Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenleber will officiate. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

Audrey J. Levy
Audrey Jeanne Levy, 53, of Heritage Point, Chesapeake, VA, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, in Chesapeake.
Born in Annapolis, MD, she was a daughter of Norma Jeanne Green of Pine Grove, and the late Edward E. Green.

She graduated with honors from Annapolis Senior High School in 1969 and worked at the Naval Academy in Annapolis following her graduation. She retired from her civil service position as a human resource specialist in the Navy in 2002.

Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband of 31 years, retired Navy Capt. Richard M. Levy, two sons, Eric W. Levy and Matthew S. Levy, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Patricia Ann Green, Orange County, Calif.; a brother, Dr. Charles E. Green, Schuylkill Haven.

Services were held Wednesday, July 21, from the Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake. Interment was in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

William R. Miller, Jr.
William R. Miller, Jr., 73, of Elizabethville, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born April 5, 1931, he was a son of the late William R. and Melva F. Klinger Miller, Sr.

He retired from Dauphin County Weights and Measures and also was a retired independent insurance agent. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville. He had been a member of the Elizabethville Boro Council and was a past member of the Elizabethville Authority. He had memberships with the F.&A.M.; Ashlar Lodge No. 570, Lykens; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council, Chapter Consistory, Harrisburg; Tall Cedar's of Lebanon; Millersburg Moose Lodge No. 59; American Legion John Lloyd Post No. 404 and VFW Post No. 6343, both of Elizabethville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara E. Bastian Miller.

Surviving are a son, Michael E., a brother, Richard A., and a grandson, Patrick M. Miller, all of Elizabethville; and nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, July 23, a Hoover Funeral Home, Inc., Elizabethville. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

Maude M. Morgan
Maude May Morgan, 90, of Hegins, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at home.
Born in Porter Twp., September 10, 1013, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence Hatter Adams.

She was a retired seamstress having been employed in area garment factories. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View; and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Morgan, who died in 1982; and a daughter, June M. Soriano.

Surviving are step-son, Theodore Morgan of Donaldson; two sisters, Helen Hudsinus and Verna Adams, both of New Jersey; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral serves were held Saturday, July 24, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. George Reynolds officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.

Nevin E. Ossman
Nevin E. Ossman, 81, formerly of Tower City died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Campbelltown.
'Born in Tower City, June 5, 1923, he was a son of the late Edward and Vera Ulsh Ossman.

'He was a Army Veteran.

'He was retired from the Reading Railroad.

'Surviving are his sister, Arlene E. Schaffer of Tower City, nieces and nephews.

'Services were private. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Eva M. Oxenrider
Eva M. Oxenrider, 97, formerly of Muir, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
Born in Orwin on February 9, 1907, she was a daughter of the late William and Mamie Bender Reedy.

She was retired from the State of Pennsylvania in the clerical field and was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Orwin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1955; and a step-daughter, Pearl Bixler.

Surviving are her son, Glenn H. Oxenrider of Millersburg; a step-daughter, Mae Shive of Williamstown; six grandchildren, Dennis Shive, Fay Shive, Dane Readinger, Delite Ashembrier, Larry Oxenrider and Glenda Helman and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 24, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, with Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin.

Memorial donations may be made to her church, Dietrich Avenue, Orwin, PA 17980. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.
