Lee R. Shoop
Lee R. Shoop, 84, of Halifax, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at his residence.

Born in Wayne Twp., he was a son of the late Elmer and Vada Saltzer Shoop. He retired from the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, was a foreman for PennDOT, and was a farmer. He was a Republican committee person for Wayne Twp., for over 60 years and a former member of the Halifax Area School Board.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Miller Shoop; three sons, Dennis of Bainbridge, Gary of Halifax, and Dale of Halifax; three daughters, Doris Goodman of Millersburg, Carol Rowe of Halifax, and Diane Matter of Tower City; a brother, James Shoop of Halifax; a sister, Sara Shoop of Milton; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, March 17, at the Valley's UCC in Halifax. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Preferred Choice, 4813 Jonestown Road, Suite 211, Harrisburg, PA 17109, or to the Valleys UCC, P.O. Box H, Halifax, PA 17032. Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Alice Strunk
Alice Strunk, 77, of died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.

Born in Brandonville, April 17, 1926, she was a daughter of the late George and Carrie Morrell Drumheller. She was a 1944 graduate of Ashland High School.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, in 1986.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Harris of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rick Harris of Ashland; a brother, Frank Drumheller of Benton; a sister, Catherine Lorah of Brandonville; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements.

Martha J. Warner
Martha J. Warner, 96, of Tremont, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Paradise, Pine Grove Township, January 27, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ellen Sherman Heinbach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H., on May 28, 1988; a son, Andrew J., on Oct. 31, 1999; three sisters, Mary Kintzel, Emma Kramer and Elizabeth Wenrich; three brothers, Joseph Heinbach, Oscar Heinbach and Howard Heinbach.

Surviving are a sister, Sarah Morgan of Tremont; two grandsons, William A. Warner of Wormleysburg, and Steven A. Warner of Pine Grove; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 9, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. Interment was in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Grace L. Wolfe
Grace L. Wolfe, 85, of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Tremont, January 21, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Delbert T. and Jennie Kohr Sharon. She was a graduate of Tremont High School.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E., who died November 1, 1994; two brothers, Delbert and Clifford Sharon.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Neal of Wilmington, Del.; a brother, Ned Sharon of Port Carbon; a sister-in-law, Mae Sharon of Dublin, Ohio; and a granddaughter.

Services were held Friday, March 12, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Howard Souder officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth E. Brown
Ruth E. Brown, 83, of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Pine Grove, June 4, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Annie Haldeman Keefer. She was a 1938 graduate of Pine Grove High School.

She was a seamstress at the former Summit Station Manufacturing, Pine Grove.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Pine Grove, its Ladies Bible Class and Pine Grove Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E., who died on June 24, 1980; and a brother, Ralph Keefer.

Surviving are a son, Lowell of Cranford, N.J.; and a sister, Erma Schnoke of Ravine.

Services were held Saturday, March 6, at St. Paul's UM Church, with the Rev. Dr. Ira Lydic officiating. Interment was in St . John's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

William A. Bruner
William A. Bruner, 75, of Loyalton, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.

He had retired as a truck driver from the Harold Felty Trucking Co., Pine Grove; was a 1945 graduate of the former Lykens High School and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. He was a life member and former chaplain of Reliance Hose Co. No. 1, Elizabethville.

He was a son of the late Paul A. and Estella A. Mumma Bruner.

Surviving are his wife, Verna E. Wolfe Bruner; two daughters, Virginia L. Bruner and Peggy Ann Gearhart; a granddaughter, Bethany Gearhart, all of Loyalton; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with The Rev. Jerry Walden officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove cemetery, Elizabethville. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.

Vincent P. Citrullo
Vincent Paul Citrullo, 77, of Pine Grove, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Minersville, January 13, 1927, he was a son of the late Ralph and Rose Valendo Citrullo. He was a graduate of Minersville High School and attended Aeronautical College, Connecticut.

He was a sergeant in the Army during the Korean War.

He was employed in the maintenance department of Merck, Sharp & Dome Pharmaceutical, West Point.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, its council, Good Will Hose Company, Souderton, Pine Grove VFW Post 3432 and a life member of Souderton American Legion Post.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Dorothy Borneman; two sons, Vincent Paul of Plantation, Fla., and Robert John of Pine Grove; a daughter, Donna Marie Parrott of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Ralph and Peter, both of Reading; a sister, Rosemarie Gleason of Delaware; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services were held Monday, March 1, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. John Ziegler officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis I. Coleman
Phyllis Irene Coleman, 76, of Hegins, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Hegins, July 15, 1927, he was a son of the late William and Goldie Kimmel Schwartz.

She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Coleman who died in 2000; a brother, Russell Schwartz, and a sister, Betty Reidinger.

Surviving are a son, Robert A. Coleman of Delanson, NY; two daughters, Mary Bowman of Valley View, and Judith Dardzinski of Cincinnati, OH; six brothers, Irvin, Chester, Franklin, and Theodore Schwartz, all of Hegins, Richard Schwartz of Tremont, and David Schwartz of Long Island, NY; two sisters, Gloria Kroh of Hegins, and Patricia Moyer of Millersburg; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Religious services were held Friday, March 5, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Claude Schach officiating. Interment was in Friedens cemetery, Hegins.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.

Paul Fetterolf
Paul "Bin" Fetterolf, 77, of Deep Creek Road, Ashland, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at home.

Born June 22, 1926, he was a son of the late David and Sarah Martz Fetterolf.

He retired in 1989 from the local mining industry, having worked for Malho's Coal Co., Lavelle, and Staph Construction Co.

He was a member of Local Union 1180.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Herbert and David.

Surviving are his wife, the former Betty Klinger; a son, Paul of Lavelle; a daughter Barbara Wenrich of RD Ashland; a brother, Edward of Ashland; three sisters, Viola Bolich of Pine Grove, Ida Heim of Shamokin, and Wanieta Weinreich of Ashland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements.

William Jordan Jr.
William Kirk "B.J." Jordan, Jr., 14, of Millersburg, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in Harrisburg.
He was an 8th grade student in Harrisburg School District, and a member of the Boys Club of Harrisburg.

Surviving are his foster mother, Diana Ross; his brother, Kamau Banks; maternal grandmother and great-grandmother, Barbara Jackson and mother Katie Allen; paternal grandfather, Raymond Smith, Sr., all of Harrisburg; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 9, in the chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton. Interment was in Baldwin cemetery.

Anna T. Katcher
Anna T. Katcher, 84, of Williamstown, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at her home.

Born in Williamstown on March 11, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Fazekas.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who died on September 11, 2000 and a sister, Betty Labuck in 2000.

Surviving are her daughters, Shirley A. Poiney of Williamstown, Dolores J. Mattis of Camp Hill; her sister, Margaret Kachnise of Williamstown; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 6, from her church, with the Rev. Darius Moss officiating. Interment was in the Parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to her church, 140 E. Market Street, Williamstown, PA 17098. Dimon Funeral Homes, was in charge of arrangements.

Alvanus Kreichbaum
Alvanus E. Kreichbaum, 83, of Pine Grove, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at home.

Born in Outwood, Pine Grove Township, September 19, 1920, he was a son of the late Samuel and Bessie Adams Kreichbaum. He was a 1937 graduate of Pine Grove High School and attended Bucknell University, Lewisburg, and Penn State University.

He was employed for 31 years as a teller at the former Pine Grove National Bank, Pine Grove.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, Pine Grove Historical Society and Pine Grove Grundsow Lodge 5, where he was secretary for many years.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Behney and Viola Ditzler.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Pearl Rhein; three daughters, Gail Wolfe of Muir, Molan Chun Goldstein of Plainsboro, N.J., and Judy Chun Vause of Bound Brook, N.J.; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.

Services were held Thursday, March 4, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. William Kreichbaum and the Rev. Howard Souder officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
