William F. Reed, 88, of E. C. C Retirement Village, Myerstown. passed away Monday, February 23rd, 2009 at the Retirement Village. He was Formerly of Fountain Springs, PA
He was born June 16, 1920 son of the late William Woll & Anna Stine. He was later raised by the late Frank and Lila Reed.
He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland; Member of the Ashland Area Senior Citizens and the Gordon Senior Citizens.
He served in the United States Air Force Veteran serving in World War I I.
He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1939.
He was preceded in death by his wife Verl R. (Herbig) Reed in 2004.
One son survives:Charles husband of Diane Reed of Ft. Springs, PA.
A grandson survives Justin husband of Mandy Reed, Ashland, PA
One granddaughter survives: Molly.
Preceding him in death were a son and daughter: William Jr. and Ruth.
Services will be at the convenience of family. Rev. Daniel DeSchoolmeester officiating. Interment at Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA.

Walter R. Lindenmuth, 68, of High Road Ashland. passed away Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at his residence.
Born in Ashland, PA May 24, 1940 he was the son of the late Charles K. and Elizabeth (Cress) Lindenmuth. He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1958 and celebrated his 50 year class reunion. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. Walter started in business in 1965 owning and operating White Pine Coal Co.; Lindenmuth Lumber & Supply Company; Schuylkill Coal Company. In addition to his many business interests he was a quiet humanitarian, helping many groups and individuals.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Fetterolf) Lindenmuth, Ashland.
One son survives:Gregory husband of Penny Lindenmuth of Ashland, PA.
Two daughters survive; Lisa wife of Randy Zartman of Klingerstown, PA.
Mary Beth Wofford of Ashland, PA.
One brother survives: Donald Lindenmuth of Orwigsburg, PA.
Six grandchildren; Clayton & Tangie Knorr; Cory & Alaina Lindenmuth; Amber & Joshua Zartman. Nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held from Christ United Lutheran Church, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 2nd, with Rev. Robert Hoenich officiating.
Interment at Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA.
Viewing Sunday 5:00-9:00 PM. at Christ United Lutheran Church., Airport Road, Ashland, PA and Monday 9:30-11:00 AM from Christ United Lutheran Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to Christ United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, PA 17921 or the charity of your choice.

Roseann D. Barrett, 45, of 2 Wildcat Road Girardville. passed away Friday, June 15th, 2007 in Butler Twp., Schuylkill County, PA
Born in Ashland, PA Mary 31, 1962 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy ( Balousky ) Barrett. She was of the Catholic Faith, graduated from Cardinal Brendan High School in 1980. She was formerly an employee of the United States Post Office working in Scranton, PA.
She is survived by a son David Noble of Dupont, PA.
Two Brothers Two sisters survive:
Thomas Barrett, Girardville, PA; James Barrett, Ashland, PA; Kathy Waschek, Ashland, PA; and Theresa Tomashitis of Ashland, PA.
Nieces and Nephews, Aunts & Uncles survive.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA, on Thursday, June 21st, 2007 @ 10:00 AM. Rev. Adam C. Sedar officiating.
Interment at St. Joseph's cemetery, Ashland, PA. Visitation Thursday 9:00-10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, P.O. Box 1167, Harrisburg, PA 17108-1167.

Hope S. Briel, 78, of 30 South 10th Street, Ashland. passed away Tuesday, June 26th, 2007 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA.
Born in Fountain Springs, PA August 10, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Luther and Stella (Mader) Seitzinger. She was a member of the Christ Congregational U C C, Ft. Springs, PA where for many years was the Church organist, Choir Director, and Sunday School Teacher. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ashland Chapter. She was a member of the Ft. Springs Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary where she enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a graduate of Butler Twp. High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Briel in 2002.
Two sons survive: Clay and his wife Cindy Briel, of Girardville, PA., Keith Briel, of Ashland, PA.
One Sister survives: Jean Keller, of Lewisburg, PA.
Preceding her in death were five sisters: Netty Wyett; Faye Alvard; Grace Jacoby; Adele Yarworth; and Lois Allsop.
One granddaughter survives: Shaina Briel.
Funeral Services will be held at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 30th, . Interment at Christ Church cemetery Ft. Springs, PA. Visitation Friday evening 6:00-8:00 PM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and Saturday 10:00-11:00 AM from the Funeral Home.

Charles Pahira, 78, formerly of 801 Arch St., Ashland, PA passed away Thursday, June 28th, 2007 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
Born in Heckscherville August 29, 1928 he was the son of the late John and Anna (Hertz) Pahira. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA. He was a graduate of Butler Twp. High School Class of 1947; a member of Washington Fire Company, Ashland. Charles was Captain of Butler Twp. Basketball Team in 1946-47 and was very active in Ashland Little League Baseball for many years.
He was last employed at the North Vo-Tech as a custodian and Bus Driver until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae (Maloney) Pahira in 1994.
A son Charles precede him in death also in 2002.
Surviving are one son - one daughter:
Michael husband of Patricia Pahira, Ashland and Patricia wife of George Forster, Lake Wynonah, PA.
Three sisters survive; Mary Rizzardi Siegfried, Minersville; Margaret Colahan, Bangor, PA; & Catherine Conshue, Llewellyn, PA.
Preceding him in death were two brothers; three sisters:
John & George Pahira; Anna "Billie" Shinkel; Veronica Reagon; Helen Tracey.
Seven grandchildren survive: Michael Jr. & Jennifer Pahira; Jeremy, Benjamin &
Adam Foster; Sean Pahira & Patrick Cleary and two great-grandchildren.
Nieces and Nephews survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 2nd, with Rev. Adam C. Sedar officiating.
Interment at St. Joseph's cemetery, Ft. Springs, , PA.
Visitation Sunday 6:00-8:00 PM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home. and Monday 8:30-9:30 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home.

James G. Schillinger, 69, of 263 Beury's Road, Ashland. passed away Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. August 25, 1937 he was the son of the late George and Eleanor ( Bianco ) Schillinger. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Gordon, PA. He was a United States Army Veteran. Was employed as a machine adjuster at Tri State Envelope Corp. in Ashland until his retirement in 1999.
Surviving are his wife:Teresa (Calabro) Schillinger, Ashland.
Two daughters survive:Anne-Marie wife of Dale Conley, Ashland and Stephanie wife of Todd Andruscavage, Mt. Carmel, PA.
A Sister survives: Linda wife of James Degel, of Ashland, PA.
Three grandchildren survive: Samantha, Brett, and Brooke
Nieces and Nephews survive
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Gordon, PA, at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6th, 2007.
Visitation Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 PM. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church,
Gordon, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of
Good Counsel Church, 220 W. Biddle Street, Gordon, PA 17936.

Anna Waizenegger, 80, of 1118 Brock Street Ashland. passed away Monday, July 9th, 2007 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, , PA.
Born in Locustdale, PA March 9, 1927 she was the daughter of the late William and
Mary (Reissinger) Ahrensfield. She attended schools in Aristes and Locustdale.
Was last employed at Gitman Bros. Shirt Factory in Ashland until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Waizenegger in 2002.
Surviving are three sons: Robert and David Waizenegger of Ashland and
Pat Waizenegger of Shenandoah, PA
One sister one brother survive: Betty Bentz, New Jersey and William Ahrensfield of Mt. Carmel, PA.
Preceding her in death were 8 brothers and sisters
Five grandchildren two great grandchildren survive.
Funeral Services will be held at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 12th, 2007.
Visitation Wednesday 6:00-8:00 PM. at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland and Thursday 10:00 AM until the time of Service. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home,
